Does anyone else think yavonne is adorable? One of my favorite people to watch : ) Von... everything you create is professional and beautiful, your personality is sweet, humble, quirky, funny, and soothing!.uh......? And even tho I mainly watch for the wire wrapping or metal working/jewlery side of things.... I also watch because....its just....fun to watch YOU. (Hope that doesnt sound too creepy its not meant to be....^^;;) Anyhoo.....Thank u!
I totally agree. She's totes adorbs! I was having a very bad couple of days (long story and I will be fine) and listening to her talk was very soothing.
Labradorite is one of my favorite stones, I just love the shifting colors and sheen when you move the stone. This is a great tutorial! Thanks again for sharing your genius with me.
hehe, Dubious!! Thats a good way of putting it! Thank you for your kindness, Allison! I am tired and worn down, but rediscovering my love of crafting and art!
Thanks a million Yvonne, I love labradorite too. Am just starting to learn the complexities of polymer so your tutorials are of great help. Love gemstones too and use them as my focals and polymer will help me to add variety to what I make. You are a wonderful artist and an inspiration to us newbies! Big hug...such marvelous things come out of the earth, love it all.
You are correct! Laboradorite, moonstone, amazonite, and sunstone are feldspars! The color differences are due to different mineral impurities. The flash is due to tiny cleavage planes in the structure that cause light diffraction. Aventurine is a quartz, but has a similar but more speckled flash for the same reason. Thanks for the tutorial!!!!
I have a penchant for Labradorite in any form and like you and your husband, my wife Judy & I are really taken with this wondrous stone. I have watched almost all of the tutorials on making Labradorite and by far yours is far exceeding any out there and looks the most natural in appearance. I shall take your advice and most likely use the glass cabs to cover instead of the UV Resin unless I find there is a non-yellowing UV Resin out there somewhere. Thank you, Yvonne, you're the best presenter out there.
I love your work...which I'm sure most of the time feels like play. At least that's how it seems to me when I watch your awesome vids. Love your soft voice as well. Makes it so relaxing. Thank you.
Howdy Yvonne! I’m new to your videos and I’m a “newbie clayer” so I learn soooooo much from your marvelous teaching!!! I just wanna say that not only are you amazing as an artist, but you are truly beautiful.... inside and out! Thank you so much for teaching me and all your “true” fans so many wonderful things.
I came here to check on the authenticity of labradorite, even though this wasn't the case you have an extremely calming/soothing voice. I enjoyed hearing it in the background :)
The colors are beautiful! I've come far in a short time thanks to you and others who have uploaded their tutorials. I think crafting and wire wrapped jewelry will be a big part of my new life. Thanks for sharing! 💜
Awesome tutorial Yvonne, just one quick question, if I use the faux stone for wire wrapping can I oxidize the copper wire wrap in Liver of sulphur or will the ruin the "stone"?
Gorgeous cabochons, Yvonne! I hope you'll do some wire wrapping with some of those so we can enjoy seeing you doing it. There are many pearlescent medias that can give a beautiful spectrolite flashing color range and the lumieres are among them as they do give a beautiful oil slick effect. The Daley Rowleys do too but they're way more expensive. Also, did you try mixing some Pearl Pinata in regular colors? That gives good results too. My main problem in years of trying to imitate labradorite is how to make the flash completely disappear and then appear only under certain angles, the way it happens in the real stone. Try topping it with some Opal Magic finnabair acrylics - the results are breathtaking. I'm sure you'd have a lot of fun with it. And also because it's an acrylic with a glue component, you can actually place a thin sheet of translucent clay on it and not just resin it, and that makes it possible to bake the cabochon after, so you can create the bezel and setting after you make the "stone".
Yvonne I am so glad I found you !! One of your jewelry tutorials helped me a great deal after trying so many times....this labradorite tutorial rocks girl---Jessie
I LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! this I had been trying to make something like this with just the color shift paint or with alcohol ink and foil. I don't have the lumiere paints but I will be getting some. thank you for sharing your gifts with everyone.
Love the name of your site and love your version of labradorite! I joined because I would love to see what else you make! I made the mistake of ordering a round ball of real labradorite(fake) and it was all just a washed out version of black. Not 1 hint of color!!! I was so disappointed 😞 but now , thanks to you, I can make my own! Thanks a million!💙🖤💚💛💜
Really enjoyed this tutorial and I am going to try this very soon! Thanks for all your great tutorials! You are such a good teacher cause you connect with your viewers!
Gorgeous cabs! I love labradorite but the really nice stones can be quite expensive. You've shown us a great way to emulate it and it's more economical than the real thing. AND you can make the them as flashy as you like!
So pretty! I love different stones and to see how it can replicated artificially is very fascinating. I like your tutorials a lot, they're always so interesting.
Ahhhh these are so good! I love rocks too, my collection is getting a little out of control xD; Always cool to see a new faux technique and these are awesome.
How funny when this particular specimens first came out no one wanted it. I fell in love right away like you . I bought like three or more shoe boxes in every color . My luck I got surgery while recuperating someone broke into my humble home and stole half my life. I say have my life cause a few month before I lost my health,my house,my car even my teeth . Cherry on top they took everything that had money value and then some.....
Love love love labradorite is my favorite!!!!!! I love love love it! I've asked people before what semiprecious gems would you be. Me for sure is Labradorite
Thanks to your wonderful videos I am going to attempt to work with polymer clay. I know there will be a learning curve, but you make everything look easy. Keep up the great work!
You are an amazing instructor thank you so much! One question could you include a complete supply list along with your vids? I would love to be able to take that list with me to the store. Thank you again for everything. Stay safe happy holidays
What is that oven you put them in? This is all brand new to me - you have captivated me with your art so now looking into trying my hand at your craft. Thank you for all you do. Amazing!
Hi I know I am late to this party by 3 yrs. This is great work. I was wondering can you drill holes in the finished piece. I didn’t want to glue anything but I want to add to jewelry.
Beautiful work! Thank you for sharing. Just a thought, that if you place a non-stick paper (parchment, freezer) on top of the clay, and THEN place your cutter on top, and cut, youll get rounded edges which would really make it look natural (worth a try...)
Got my craft crate :) love my new cabs, I sorta think im just gonna stick them on my monitor so I can stare at them all the time they are so beautiful hehe.
I think that would work fantastically! I would seal the wood a bit first, to let the paint float and flow before it dries or gets soaked into the wood, if that makes sense.
Well, this is the 4th different tutorial that I've watched and you are such a natural! You effortlessly put colors together and get beautiful results. I'm about to give up Tonight makes my 5th failure at recreating faux anything. I don't know why because I try to follow instructions to the T. But dear lady, I love your tutorials and the things you create. How do you figure out what colors to use? You use paints, correct? Where does the shine come in? How do you know what thickness to make the jewelry? Do you have a secret for not having your clay stick to your machine? I have to clean mine after EACH time I put clay through(even if it's the same color. My clay either crumbles or sticks. I want so much to make Christmas presents for familyand friends but inevitably, something goes wrong. Did you have these problems when you first started? If so, how long did it take for you to be successful. Well, thanks for listening.....I'll look forward to your nect presentation.💚💙👍
I love watching you. You are truly talented. I did try this and I didn't get anything remotely like yours I got the muddy look in a lot of the piece and when I did the run off it almost completely ran off and the clay became really mushy not sure what I did wrong lol. But it was fun!
if one wanted to make these to hang from a ribbon, do you poke a hole before baking? just ordered one of your dud boxes! real cabs are polished on both sides, so for a stand alone pendant, not one in a frame, do you resin the backside? will that magic mod pod stuff work as well as resin? i really can't afford a UV light. thanks for such great videos!
Thanks for another awesome tutorial! Might u know if UV resin yellows or changes in any way if ‘over’ exposed to uv light, like if it’s in the natural sunlight all the time? I wonder if it dries out and starts to crack also. And are the effects on uv resin stronger or less than the same effects on 2-part epoxy resins?

I know what you mean. So many videos, I just want them to be quiet and get to the technique. But some, like Yvonne, are a pleasure to listen to.
What!!?? Stone enthusiast here. Your handicraft is wholly impressive. Shocking 🤩♥️👍
Can you see through the ones you made? They are beautiful.
Labradorite is one of my favorite stones, I just love the shifting colors and sheen when you move the stone. This is a great tutorial! Thanks again for sharing your genius with me.
Your labradorite slab and sphere are beautiful and reflect how lovely and representative these faux cabs are.Just beautiful!
They are amazing ! They look so like Labrador
I was dubious when I saw you spray the paint with water, but the results are fantastic! And you seem like such a sweet genuine person
hehe, Dubious!! Thats a good way of putting it! Thank you for your kindness, Allison! I am tired and worn down, but rediscovering my love of crafting and art!

Awesome job!! Your stones look just as good as real ones. I love gemstones myself, and I make the druzy necklaces myself. Beautiful!😄
I love your work...which I'm sure most of the time feels like play. At least that's how it seems to me when I watch your awesome vids.
Love your soft voice as well. Makes it so relaxing.
Thank you.

Thank you, Elizabeth!!
Great to know! I really like this idea! I’m just getting started in wire beading and you just make me so excited when I watch your videos!
Howdy Yvonne! I’m new to your videos and I’m a “newbie clayer” so I learn soooooo much from your marvelous teaching!!! Hi Yvonne. I didn't know you could bake acrylic paint. Good to know. Your pieces are so pretty. Thank you for sharing.
I came here to check on the authenticity of labradorite, even though this wasn't the case you have an extremely calming/soothing voice. I enjoyed hearing it in the background :)
I've just discovered labradorite and your faux stones are beautiful
Very nice! Most realistic faux lab I've ever seen.
Your pieces are just beautiful!! 👍😊
Have you done these with a relief style carving on the front? That would be really neat and maybe help the colors reflect more
Nicely done lady very close to the real thing, best tute I have seen to match a Labradorite.
sooo happy to see we all appreciate feldspars and labradorite is always special
Gorgeous cabochons, Yvonne! I hope you'll do some wire wrapping with some of those so we can enjoy seeing you doing it.

Oh wow, thanks Kalyana! These are excellent tips and I'm gonna have to try them!
Day, I'm so happy to see you here !! Two of my favorite teacheres collaborating ! It's so great !!
Hello, very nice tutorial. I have a question. Are these color shift / lumiere paints, acrylic paints??
Thank you for your help.
Can, in the same way and effect, use alcohol inks?
I got my tree kit yesterday and I am so excited. I have one more kit coming. Phillips Charlotte

Thank you for your tutorials! Love watching and and trying out your suggestions!!!

Hi I know I am late to this party by 3 yrs. This is great work. I was wondering can you drill holes in the finished piece. I didn’t want to glue anything but I want to add to jewelry.
I love labradorite it's the key element to my book series!
Wow! Great job on these, they’re beautiful and look real!
This is amazing! Will you be doing and wire wrapping tutorials with these?
Hi Yvonne, beautiful stones. What is the difference in the small and large Halo paints?

Oh Wow I really love this technique very pretty.
Got my craft crate :) love my new cabs, I sorta think im just gonna stick them on my monitor so I can stare at them all the time they are so beautiful hehe.
Beautiful. Do you not resin the sides?
Can you create this look with out using clay? Could you paint like this on wood and cover it with epoxy you think?
I think that would work fantastically! I would seal the wood a bit first, to let the paint float and flow before it dries or gets soaked into the wood, if that makes sense.
@@backtoearthcreations absolutely, how long do you think it would take this to dry on wood before I could put epoxy over it🤔
Beautiful

Beautiful! I was wondering if you have ever wrapped a tube (I want to cover a kaleidoscope ) and followed with resin, if so how? I too hate sanding,
thank you very cool
These turned out great, can't wait to give it a try ♡
I love watching you. You are truly talented. I did try this and I didn't get anything remotely like yours I got the muddy look in a lot of the piece and when I did the run off it almost completely ran off and the clay became really mushy not sure what I did wrong lol. But it was fun!

just ordered one of your dud boxes! real cabs are polished on both sides, so for a stand alone pendant, not one in a frame, do you resin the backside?
will that magic mod pod stuff work as well as resin? i really can't afford a UV light. thanks for such great videos!
whats the difference in yellowing between uv resin and regular catalist resins?
I love your work, what do you do with the back, to make it appealing as well?
What color of art and glow do you use? Love your work!
love this tutorial. I can't wait to try it. Great Work girlie!!!!
