The thing is once you start looking at shoes as an investment, it turns a fun little hobby into a capital expenditure. It affects what you buy because now you're not going to buy some of the things you like and you're buying some things you don't like just because of resale value. Also it makes you hesitant to wear certain shoes you have because once you wear them, their value decreases. It corrupts a genuine love for sneakers because looking at shoes as an investment forces you to focus on factors outside of what it means to be a sneaker enthusiast. At that point I'd argue you aren't really a "sneakerhead," but rather someone concerned with obtaining assets. This is exactly why the term "bricks" now has a negative connation in the sneaker community. There are too many people just trying to obtain and maintain assets. If you have a genuine love for sneakers and aren't looking at sneakers as an investment, it's neither a good or bad word to describe a shoe.

I think this video pins alot of good points for where we are Now in the sneaker world. When you talk about the shoes that don't hold value 12:24 I think you should also mention that there are rare occasions that trends might bring a sneaker back from being called a "brick" to gaining alot of value. Great Content

Thanks for sharing with us HHSB 👟 my opinion.. i 💯 % agree with him but how the market for shoes are now its like playing the stock market. I truly belive that if i can make 300%- to almost 900% on my return its without a doubt i will sell . If the shoe is running hot 🔥 . I nowadays try to buy shoes with a HUGE return 💰 i will go broke if i buy everything i like LOL .NOT A SMART INVESTMENT . if its a fire 🔥 shoe 👟 i will cash in on that train ride.. right away. But thats the business man in me. Like he said why touch your capital💰 if you have equity in shoes if a emergency happens in the house hold. Again this is me personally speaking as an adult with a family 👪 & a home 🏡 to secure..investment wisely. MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT 🙌.. to everyone ..stay healthy my friends 🙏

Appreciate the video bro, no doubt "hyped" shoes like TS. If you can hit at retail no doubt you'll have some equity. But not all shoes have such big ROI's.

What up crew there are some heavy hitters right now. For example : any kobe, jarrito SB'S, orange lobster sb's. With precious lobsters it took time to go up so orange lobster will follow the same pattern. Also jarritos are still going crazy. But Sb's are long-term investments.

I definitely like a shoe with big ROI, but even $20 flips still add up over time.
I started selling shoes to save up for a new camera to further my photography, and it took me 20-30 pairs to end up with enough PROFIT money to purchase the camera outright.
I’ve been guilty of buying pairs with intent to flip, but end up keeping/wearing them because they didn’t end up having profit, but I also love the shoe.
    So there’s that.

House market goes up, sneaker investment goes down. It’s about priorities. Once the house market goes down people will be spending. But, reps are taking over and the major corporations are feeling it.

For someone that has a collection like him and when he started, yes his statement holds validity, especially when and if you could get a majority of the collection for retail. Now if your just starting a collection and in this day and age no it's terrible advice. Most of the time people get in that kind of situation where they can say their collection is an investment because it started out as a passion you were just buying what you liked not thinking about the backend monetary value.

Great vid bro ! Unfortunately all he talked about was hype shoes. He didnt mention everyday drops which are a big part of the market. Look, the sneaker selling business is in decline. At this point the economy doesnt support it. Nike has jacked prices to take away any small profits, there is a zillion sneaker events where people are asking just silly prices. Im not investing in anything but a hype collab because simply put there is no money to be made.., ill buy silver and gold instead.. the sneaker market was fun during the pandemic however it has corrected itself and between that and Nike upping prices there is no value left…Peace

Yea I definitely tried to touch on the non hype shoe portion for sure. There are definitely some big hits and some hits that aren't worth the time
