My papaya tree took a hit with one of Florida’s Gulf Coast hurricane’s high winds. It snapped and broke off, and was seemingly dead for 2 years. My poor tree looked like yours. However it has resumed growing and is bearing fruit again.Yay! So do not despair !

The butterflies are sneaky like that… I saw a gorgeous question mark butterfly I wanted to get photos of because I saw it land, then I looked away for one second and he disappeared. I also can’t help but wonder if you’ll get another huge polydamas caterpillar like that one way back that had the mega purge and the giant chrysalis. The only thing I think you could have mentioned that isn’t usually something that happens is that in the event that you notice the butterfly on the ground after it ecloses whether it be a fall or some other factor, is to quickly see that it makes it back up to inflate or that you place it in a place where it can inflate. That being said I still really enjoyed the video and am looking forward to seeing the plants you ordered in the next one. Have a good evening!
They were nectar plants in the boxes, and one of them had butterflies on it as soon as I put it in the garden. I ordered a few host plants today, too…and zinnia seeds. It’s a good thing I like shopping for plants and not designer shoes or handbags😂😂😂

I have rue but I've never seen one and they're supposed to be around I know they get sighted in the park a couple miles away but so do the zebras and yet here I am all alone. Maybe I'll try buying a prickly ash.
Do you have lots of nectar plants too?? Try the prickly ash and maybe more rue…send out a more pronounced signal from your garden. 😉😉🥰🥰🥰
@@Susanthebutterflygardener I get a lot of species. I've had a monarch, black swallowtail, tiger swallowtail, common buckeye, and I think a phaon crescent because it was on the frog fruit around lately. I have a ton of nectar and host plants though I seem to lose half of the new stuff every year before it gets established in this heat. But the lantana and purple top verbena draw them in from far I watch them turn from flying down the street all the time lol. May have to go on a field trip to find them!

This was so informative! Thank you for posting. I recently started raising butterflies and have a few gulf fritillaries in an enclosure. One created its chrysalis but it’s in the bottom of the enclosure. Does this mean it’s not viable?
Not necessarily. Move the chrysalis’s to the edge (corner) of the enclosure so that when the butterfly ecloses (hatches), it will be able to climb up the side and let its wings drop so they will form properly.
