Kirk Creek Campground- The Good And The Raccoons

We spent two nights at the elusive Kirk Creek Campground. This can be a hard campground to get into, but we managed to slide in for a few nights.
It is very basic, but the views and the scenery are absolutely amazing!

It's sad what has become of this campground since the landslide. The management company has let this site deteriorate almost to the point of no return. The trail to the beach is unusable. There is generator that is running the poor camp host's RV that has to run all day because the solar that is supposed to be provided for them isn't working. They were great anyways, but seemed totally frazzled at the situation they were thrown into. They did shut it off at night so we could all hear the ocean, I'm sure for their own sanity as well... Anyways, the forest service should definitely take a look at the condition of their sites along this stretch of hwy1 and do something about them.
