First of all thank you Jack James for sharing this great gem! I found it very interesting how Tins spoke about some business conflicts, that even a Tina Turner couldn't set right (for example the One Of The Living-production conflicts or the final biography where she missed certain parts.) And it is great that they talk specifically about songs, that were only album tracks. At the release of BER I was a die-hard fan at the age of 14, and I couldn't understand the criticism about this album being commercial and too softened. Of course some 10 or 20 years later I could understand. So I am still struggling with some of the songs like TWO PEOPLE. On one side I happened to like it a lot, on the other side it's one of these "Roger wants a hit record"-songs. ;-)
I recognize his voice from the Biography Channel’s story on Tina Turner. He tells the story abt “Ike forcing her to eat an entire cake” and that being the final straw….. i cant think of his name…..
I knew that was Steve Winwood on the song “Afterglow”! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! That synth part sounded suspiciously like “Valerie”! Makes so much sense.
I always keep coming back to this interview
