Wow, there are almost as much notes as there are scriptures. Lots of helpful information and incredible illustrations in this one. I guess this would be fitting for people who not only want to study, but for those who would read notes rather than write notes. Hope to see a tour of your Bible collection one day!
I love your consistently thorough review of bibles. Your offer the most complete overview of each one you review. Thank you very much. I've heard great things about the ESV Study Bible but still haven't gotten one as I have an ESV. I've frequently considered it so it would be nice to add the study helps it provides. I think I can even handle the smaller type since it looks like great line spacing which seems to be the critical thing for my older eyes. I haven't yet gotten a "study" bible so this seems like it would be a great one to begin with.

If your eyes can take the smaller font size in this one it’s such a portable Bible and easy to take with you where the full size one would be bulkier but this personal size one is great to be able to take with you and the content is excellent! I'd love to receive the ESV personal size SB as a gift so I could gift it to my sister who has just received her first Bible an ESV text only in trutone within the last 6months; she turned 40 on the 9th and she asks me questions(we live in different states) that I'm not always able to convey a proper response or that i myself can not answer. She loves Christ, He is showing her truths she never knew and I know because her Bible is beat up and falling apart from use already and I know she would love this and it'd be a great help. Yes it is nerve racking to see a glued edition for a study Bible. I’d love to see Tyndale redo the illustrated Study Bible with a sewn binding cause it has such great content but it is glued. I love the little size! I have a regular size edition of this Bible, and man, is it heavy! I usually read the Bible and walk around my house, holding a Bible in my hands, but I can’t do that with the large study Bible as it is too heavy. So this Bible I’m sure is more manageable. Part of what I love about this Bible is the articles in the back-there’s a LOT of good theological information included in the back. This is one of the best study bibles I own. (I also like the MacArthur Study Bible, too.) Good luck to whomever wins this Bible! I think if and when I purchase this Bible for myself, I will buy it in the genuine leather cover. Gypsy is correct. They own the copyright and only do ESV Bibles but they make some great quality Bibles. All of their options are well made. They do an awesome job on them. Is this still up for grabs? I have this exact one but in black and I love it. I’ve written in it, highlight, and it’s an amazing bible. I would love to use this as my second ESV study bible when I go through the Bible again later on this year.
Frustratingly, I am unable to use my Personal Size ESV STUDY BIBLE, due to my poor eye sight. I need bifocals (I'm 33!) but even then I don't think the small commentary text will be comfortable or pleasant to read. Will be looking to invest in a full-size edition soon.
Sorry to hear that. I myself have macular degeneration and I need readers even for an 18pt font to be clear. It’s not fun having vision issues. Good vision is something we take for granted until we lose it. They make a large print edition that would probably work a lot better for you. It might be worth seeing if a friend or family member would like to buy your personal size edition and you can put those funds towards a large print one. I have a review of the large print edition as well as the regular one but with your vision issues the large print would probably work much better for you. Thank you for watching and commenting. I sure wish there was a KJV w/reformed-Calvinist doctrinal notes. Absent that, I bought this little gem and I carry/use it alongside my KJV Open Bible. I love this Bible.
