I cant help but think what were hearing here is mostly the acoustic sound of the bass. For a more accurate appraisal surely you'd need to isolate the pickup sound from that of the instrument?
Very beautiful sounding bass! Such a real woody low mid voice. Love it! When I'll be able to purchase a better bass than the one I currently own, I'll be wanting to use your pickup. I use a fairly old acoustic bass guitar (yes, I know that's faking it...) on some smaller gigs, like playing on street gigs for tourists, Strange enough, It's build by Ibanez, but I've never found an acoustic bass -regardless of the price range- that sounds just like it. It really sounds like a baby double bass/ 'big' cello! It has a unique beautiful sound of it's own. I wish I could purchase a pickup like the UB RevSolo for this bass too!
I would like to ask you 2 questions 1. Do you play Double bass 2. If yes then do you play jazz If you answered no to both then allow me to explain. While a p bass and a double bass plugged into amplifiers sound similar there are defiantly major differences specifically in the tonal properties of each instrument ( double bass has a more full resonating sound since it is a hollow bodied instrument compared to a solid bodied P bass). I personally love my Fender P bass but in big band jazz orchestra and other formats of jazz it doesn't give me the proper sound im looking for to fill a room with rich dark bass tones.

What a beautiful room. All those basses, all that wood... I gotta get up there one day

What about a transducer for underneath the finger board?
I'm digging the Haitian fight song at the end of the video :)
What about a transducer for underneath the fingerboard?.... Not the best set up for psychobilly.
How does the bass player spin the bass with this set up?
Richard C wireless transmitter
yeah can't really hear it that well you should but the amp in the front of you
With zero due respect to the BP100, it never sounded even half as good as the not-so-great sound produced at 4:30.
