There is this grainy sound coming out of the Ischell recording. Is it something to consider or? Also, could you please mention wich model you are using, C1, C2 or C3? Appreciated
Hi Hugo, I don't exactly understand what you mean when you speak about the grainy sound. Do you mean some little noise (crackle - maybe from my bass or cables touching the bass)? Or a (positive) characteristic in the timbre? I got my Ischell in 2019 and they only had one model which was the C1. Cheers!
Well yes, if you want to be able to use your Ischell on every gig, on any kind of amplification, it's probably better to take the 9V Version. But if you have the Ischell as an alternative PU to a good piezo, you'll be fine with the "normal" Ischell. It's a personal decision.
one more great Video Hervé! The ToneDexter sounds like you trained on a regular slot, did you try to use CH22 for training? I did like that best with the mic not too close to avoid boomy low end, with some arco and some pizz during training.
I love your sound from ischell. I also purchased ischell but having a hard time finding sweet spot. Could you give me some tips on installing? Also how much putty do you use? I use all of it to seal microphone to avoid high frequency feedback. When I try to make it look like what on manual, I get high frequency feedback.
@@kentosuzuking I pretty much followed the instructions that came with the mic. First I make a "sausage" of putty out of which I make a ring. The ring has to be very even, because the inside of the ring has to be hermetic (air-proof). Maybe I should do a video to show you how I install it. Oh, I didn't try out the low cut yet, so it is in original position, whatever that is... But I will try that, because the signal has too much low end - thanks for reminding me.
@@stringmatrix Yes, the Ischell has three options 180Hz, 360Hz and flat. the Deafault is 360Hz. I can see in the EQ you cut the bass frequency a lot.I'm still trying to find the best EQ for live situations.
Great ! Thank you , Hervé ! The sound of Ischell was really great. Can it be used for bigger stages? I'm using the ToneDexter for about a year now and I am very satisfied with it.
Hi! I haven't tried it on big stages yet. But my feeling is that the Ischell doesn't have more feedback issues than a good pickup . So yes, it should work well.
Ischell seems to be most natural sounding od them all. Thanks for great video ;-)
Please check out my additional video to hear the ToneDexter on slot 22 and with different character settings: th-cam.com/video/yc8TK71Pgzs/w-d-xo.html

Ich bleibe auch beim Pickup, der beste Kompromiss, wie du sagst!

Do you think the Ischell 9V version is necessary I have phantom on my amp but you never know where you might end up playing

One more thing. How do you set low cut filter? 360hz,180hz,or flat?
Thanks!

Stringmatrix thank you for your tip!
I would love to hear what you think of low cut as well!

Which pick up did you use to feed the ToneDexter? The Balsereit?
Yes!
