I'm surprised you didn't mention Epididymitis. I've had it and torsion and Epididymitis is WAY worse. It's even worse than passing a kidney stone.
I got kicked by a horse and broke my right testicle in two (also got an umbilical hernia that needed operation) while I was biking to Denmark from Spain. The accident happened in Belgium and I biked the rest of the way holding my balls with one hand and biking with the other.
I solemnly swear this story is true 😅 worse pain I've felt in my life, by far...
OUCH.😬
bro, that's rough

Oh man that sounds terrible... You totally have an argument when women say that men will never experience a pain as bad as childbirth. I think you have us girls beat kind sir!

"The kick in the balls" description is the most elaborate and amusing description I have ever heard. Well done.
9:17 - Nothing like hearing the missus shout "I HAVE ACCESS TO A SCROTUM" happily from the other room to alert me to a new video. 😑
As someone who had testicular torsion, i can confirm it was the single worse pain i had experienced. I was younger (7) so i tried to hide it, thinking it would go away. Spoiler alert, it didn't. Even the recovery was painful, walking was horrible, going to the toilet was painful.
By the time i had grown the courage to tell my mum, my scrotum was roughly twice the size it should be. The doctor, after my surgery, said i was really close to losing it. So guys, if you have any pain you can't explain, go to your doctor or ER. Trust me, it won't go away. The pain WILL get worse.
Dude I had a bacterial infection that spread from my gut to my flatter to my balls,
Standing was hell
@ryanjowett2623 yea I didn't want to add to much detail because some people can be a bit weird with detail (to be fair, they're on the wrong channel if details gets to them lol), for me, my testicle was in a really bad place, it was badly infected, the night I went, the doctor (I think he was the doctor but he may have been the surgeon) said if I had left it until the morning, it would've been too late to try and do anything. Thankfully because of my age, they wanted to try and save it (thankfully they did). Otherwise, if I was an adult, they would've just cut it off and called it a day 😂
Literally, everything I did was painful, standing was horrible, walking was like ten times worse, you don't fully realise just how much your nuts and legs interact, until they are even slightly tender.
Man, trying to sleep was bad, I found on my back with my legs open was the "best", but as soon as I fell asleep, I'd roll onto my side where I normally sleep, and the pain would shoot through my whole body waking me up again lol.
Good intel
You were close to losing that testicle or losing the entire scrotum
my friend had a testicular torsion and one of it was removed. He was in his late teens. When we visited him at the hospital, I was the only one who asked if we can see it to confirm. My other friend got pale. He did not show it tho, lol
I have got 2 testicular torsion as a kid at 9 and later at 12, I got 2 surgery and at 43 years old know it’s still the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life. I wouldn’t wish that to my worst enemy.
Doctor squeezed mine like he was trying to pop it after my first episode when I was like 10. I hit him out of reaction and left, and refused to ever have it addressed again. It’s been 30 years and I get it a couple times a month. It hurts less to just untwist it than it did to be squeezed like that… And I would go to jail for what I would do to a doctor that ever did that again. I still don’t understand why he did that?
I feel you. Mine were at 9 and 18. And at 56, I'm having a hard time getting through this video. (npi)
I had mine corrected at 17. It was absolutely unbearable. I was vomiting because of the pain. I can't imagine ever suffering like that again. To have it twice, oh my goodness that is terrible
@@g10dra30 the second time I got a testicular torsion I just barely made it to the surgery in time. I remember a class of medical students came in my room at the hospital just before my surgery, so the teacher thought it was a rare and excellent timing to show my balls to everyone, to be in pain and have to show your ball to about 20 peoples was awful. Any to answer your question I don’t think you’re handicap, most of the mammals have 2 balls, so you have a spare one. In my room at the hospital, another kid was born with one one, fortunately he got in time, or he would definitely have been screwed.

As a female the worst genital pain I had wasn't given birth, it was when my son's placenta got stuck and a doctor tryed to manually remove it. He had to put his hand in my uterus and try to pull the placenta out unsuccessfully, so I needed an operation even though I just went through labour with no pain relief except paracetamol.
@DRAGONFLYS06 😮 omg, that sounds awful. I can't even imagine. I hope there were no lasting effects from it. So sorry that happened to you. Back in '98 I had an episiotomy and stitches after giving birth to my first son with no anesthesia.

“If you have access to a scrotum” got me howling 😂
In fact, I have access to my own scrotum
When I was in high school, I played cricket. A cricketball is harder than a baseball. At lunch one day, I was the bowler, and bowled a fast bouncer with a little spin to bounce right at this guys feet. A cricketer faces the bowler the same as a base baller but as the ball approached closer to him he turned to face it to hit it hard up and over me, he missed and the ball bounced with that little spin right into his balls. There was an absolute silence from people watching, as I yelled out omg I’m soooooooo sorry. He fell to the cement and went white as a ghost, groaning in absolute pain. A male teacher helped him get up, but he needed carrying, so two male teachers carried him off, and I didn’t see my classmate for weeks after. But a teacher told me “ I will never play cricket with you” as he smiled.
I don’t know what damage I did, but still feel bad about it today.
Oh gawwwd! Well, he should’ve been wearing a cup!
@@mfranck1 Yep! But, It wasn’t a serious cricket game though.
@@SparkyOne549 I don’t know why you think that matters?
Back when I used to play high school/college sport, this was one of my worst fears. I didn't play cricket (or baseball), but I played field hockey (i.e. the version on grass/astroturf, not ice). Although we had to wear shinguards and a mouthguard, no-one wore a cup. For anyone not familiar, a field hockey ball is like a giant golf ball...just as hard and often dimpled to help the flight but far bigger and heavier. Luckily that ball and mine never made contact despite other bad injuries I sustained.
I had a botched appendix removal (that turned out to be unnecessary) and got MRSA in the laparoscopy site that filled my abdominal wall and moved into my testes. They swelled to softball sized and I almost died. 3 litres of infection drained from my stomach and testes. The pain was so bad I almost would have been ok with them cutting my balls off.
My eyes kept getting wider the longer I read ... O_O
Oh bless you!!!
Jesus, I'm so sorry you had to experience all that. You're a fighter
Omg that sounds awful 🫣
I feel the pain down there when listening to the description... it hurts both physically and mentally XD
I had Testicular tortion last year. Just woke up with pain that got worse and worse over the next couple of hours. Had to go to my GP who sent me straight to hospital for immediate surgery. The NHS saved my ball and fixed both in place with stitches to prevent it happening again (and it hasn’t). Only thing is I can feel the stitches through my scrotum so now I don’t know if the lumps are just stitches or something else.
Regardless, thank goodness the NHS is completely free, and I’m so happy with the service I got.
My husband pays $18k for our health insurance and it doesn’t even cover anything until we spend another $5k. Once that is met, insurance covers 80% until we reach a maximum $13k out of pocket (unless we use a doctor that is out of network then it’s $27k max out of pocket) Considering he cleared $39k last year, we could be taxed at 40% and still have to pay less for healthcare! You are so very fortunate. I am happy you got the help you needed!
@@patientzero5685 that system does not sound fun, sorry that you have to go through that. Many people would argue that the NHS isn’t “free” because it’s taxed but the HMRC (tax people) website tells you how much of your tax was specifically spent on healthcare and for me it’s £942 for last year. I would say that beats having to pay for insurance.
I know. I had the same thing happen to me at 15 yrs old, and I can feel the lumps where they stitched mine apart.
@@tmabry5515 that’s good to know

Shame that Epiditymitis isn't mentioned. That shit had me crying like a baby in the hospital, they had to put me down with morphine just to shut me up enough to do an ultrasound.
Yeah, I debated on putting that one on there, I think I should have mentioned it with prostatitis.
I’ve had that I feel your pain 😢
Oh my, good thing my epididymitis wasn't bad as this. Mine was just some nagging pain that would really only come if I was laying down doing nothing😅
Mine took 4 lots of antibiotics to clear left with scarring of kidney etc
My 16 yo son had that this week. He goes to a boarding High School and it started early one morning. He was nauseous from the pain. He had no idea as to what was going on because he had no recent injuries there. He was embarrassed to ask to see the nurse because it was a female. He called me to ask what should he do. I told him to tell his dorm supervisor/dad to take him to the clinic.
the worst, the very worst pain I've felt, and that includes being shot a couple times, stabbed a couple times (as a member of the U.S. Army in the late 60s) was when I had a vasectomy back in the 80s. Injection of the numbing fluid into my testes felt like a brick was tied to them and then dropped from a tall building. Later the doctor said I had arched my body so much during the injection the only parts of my body on the table was the back of my head and the heels of my feet. I know, TMI...
As a Man this is not just a Education video,
Its a F$&ing Nightmare!!.
A kid in my school was playing cricket and a fast ball hit him in the balls. One of his testicles ruptured and it had to be removed. The worst part is that his surname was Mayberry and, of course, after that it was Oneberry.
I've been passing stones for the last couple months, yeah testicle pain is pretty rough

you deserve this after that amazing pun: 🖋️
The worst I probably had was from hockey - I was playing goalie and I didn't get down quick enough and took a puck square in the cup rather than the chest protector. The shot was hard enough that it broke the cup. I was walking funny for a week - stairs were no bueno & I drove a manual transmission, which was also a challenge. They didn't swell to the size of grapefruits, but they definitely bore a resemblance to a couple of large oranges. I honestly feel somewhat fortunate compared to some of the horror stories I've read in this comments section, though...
Even though I have never experienced it and I hope I or to that matter none should experience it ever, just hearing the words “testicular torsion” is making me feel the pain down there 😵💫
A solid kick to the balls is pain no man will ever forget. I still remember mine from 3rd grade like it was yesterday and it was 40 years ago. 😂
It can make you throw up 🤮

as someone who plays hockey and softball...we have a saying, "Cups are over-rated"....no matter how many times you get hit there, it hurts like heck...but I always say, imagine if I wasn't wearing one how bad it would be
Precisely why I never played hockey or softball... or any other sport where I could easily sustain severe and even permanent damage to my body.
Life is full of unexpected and/or unavoidable trauma. To deliberately put oneself in situations that could end a normal life(span) is not an intelligent choice IMO.
Call me any name you wish to... but I'm now 85 and can see, hear, walk, talk with only age-related impairments. The "names" have never hurt me.
I think you mean underrated rather then overrated. Overrated implies you dont need it, underrated means you should use it but not enough people do
I love your videos, the information, and the light hearted comedy.
Excellent presentation of this subject matter.
I had shingles in the genital area, all on the left side, worst pain I’ve ever been in. It’s been 5 months and still on medication for nerve pain😢 doctor said just have to play it out and hope for the best for a recovery 😭
Thanks for covering this from what ive experienced in life people don't tend to take male injuries and pain seriously unless they are educated on these things.
Great video Jonathan. Much better than the few previous videos in that you don’t come across as if you’re reading. In a few of your previous videos, you many times sounded like you were reading as you were explaining. I found it odd, mainly because I’ve been watching your videos for a few years now, and you never in the past came across as if you were reading. So, i’m glad to see you back to normal now in this video. 👍

The docs at a&e thought my son had testicular torsion, they did emergency surgery and it turned out to be a cyst which had twisted itself.
I was a 27 year old US Marine stationed in Seattle, When the torsion hit I thought i was going to die. I have never had pain like that before. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!
For my the worst pain in the genitals was related to kidney stones. A massive ache in the testicles. Right the way to my kidney. Has a uroscopy. And they had to remove the stent via the fellow too. That absolutely killed. Also knocked the prostate from the front area. Wow. That is also incredibly painful.
Take pure magnesium citrate. You'll never get kidney stones again. I almost died from stones. The brand Solaray sells it.
Yup, had the exact same thing happen. Right kidney, stent removal, using the "pre-existing" hole down there. Two weeks of agony from the stent "helping" the kidney stone pass. The stone was a tad larger than a bead cake sprinkle, but looked like an inside-out geode. It was a pretty traumatic experience even though it was 26 years ago.
@@brianfox771 mine was 11mm blockage with some smaller stones behind it. Had the stent. I then had to have emergency treatment for ure sepsis as the first stent caused that. Operation and second stent went well. 3 operation for retrieval of the last stent via “numbing lube” oh I was lied to and I belived it 😂 defo something I’ll never forget
I have had epididymitis with swelling and the pain was low to uncomfortable.
The two worst male genital injuries at the hospital I work at that I can recall occurred to unfortunate guys who had had medical emergencies, resulting in a fall to a hard surface and being unable to get up and not being discovered for days. The pressure on and damage to the genital area from being on the floor for that long was such that: -
1. Guy A - developed gangrene and had to have a penectomy (yes, amputation of the penis) and lost his entire scrotum...to avoid having to also castrate him as the balls themselves were just about OK, the surgeons had to implant a ball in the skin of each thigh. Whilst he still had to have a catheter to pass urine, it at least meant he didn''t have to take testosterone replacement.
2. Guy B - also developed gangrene and needed to be emasculated (removal of all his genitalia)...
Fortunately, I have not seen one of the worst injuries to happen there - which I think wasn't mentioned in this video - the infamous "degloving injury of the penis" (don't look it up!).
Hello Jonathan & Co, thanks a lot for the videos (not only this one 😊), very interesting! I wish some topics would be explained in the school. Would you mind to discuss topic of body thermoregulation while doing (cardio) activities? For example, some people do jogging in t-shirts by low temperature (like me) but some put on warm jackets and several layers. I would be overheated immediately. So what is the better (proper) thermoregulation? To get heated internally or not spend so much energy and staying cold? And why some people start sweating very quickly but some almost don't sweat by the same activity even if they are less trained? I think, it could be interesting topic for many. Thanks in advance!
it leaves one question: why when we're hit in the balls lightly the pain starts thin, building intensity until it explodes in horrendous suffering?
"I erupted in laughter"....Sounds about right!😅

I have peyronie;s disease right now and am awaiting treatment. Can confirm it is painful, awkward and all around sucks.
As far as I am aware, there is no "cure". Traction is only sometimes effective and in some cases can make it worse. There is a drug called "xiaflex" (I think) that is supposed to break down the fibrosis, but it is not approved in many countries lately because it can cause penile rupture (very bad). Sorry to sound like a downer, but you have to manage your expectations. I am speaking from experience.

Testicular torsion.
7:36 i had testicular torsion too, fortunally didn't require surgeon to heal
At the start of 2022 I had some kind of strange bacterial infection between my scrotum and testies.
My local GP thought it was testicular torsion and told my partner to "drive him to hospital as an ambulance won't get here fast enough."
The hospital had me on codine and pretty aggressive antibiotics almost immediately and yet still the following few days were both the worst pain and worst fever I've ever had.
Never really ended up figuring out what it was, how it happened or why.. but I will never forget it.
one of the WORST incidents that happened to me was my mates son playing ball in the living room... he'd kick the ball.. and punch his hand forward at the same time...
I run up, and "tackle" the ball off him... he goes to kick it... misses... and ... punch forward... Whack. Right in the right nut.
.... I spent the next 20 minutes on the floor screaming
while my mate fell over crying with tears of laughter.
Getting a small tear in my frenulum is the most painful thing I have experienced. Thankfully it’s ok now.
OUCH. 😬. I’m glad you’re ok too.

Worst pain OF ANY KIND I have had was hematurea,(blood clots in the prostate) after prostate surgery. And I had thought a kidney stone was the worst until that!

I don't know, being circumcized as an adult, was very painful and uncomfortable, as well as being hit in my man bits by soccer balls and my bicycle saddle nose has been pretty painful.
Just imagine how painful it is for baby boys. There’s no real reason to do it to baby boys (which is why 80ish percent of the world doesn’t do it). Glad I wasn’t mutilated as a baby.
@@Persistence_run_444me neither. I’m glad to have my foreskin
Not sure how it is for most people with foreskin but for me, it is extremely sensitive where most of the time touching it is painful except in sexual activity. If my foreskin was removed now as an adult, I’d be in constant pain for probably weeks just walking around and it rubbing on my clothes.

7:35 i thought i had this about a year ago, woke up one morning and couldn't even stand up all the way, the internal tugging was awful, drove myself to the ER and of course had a hot nurse do an ultrasound on my sack ...that was the hardest part (no pun intended)
she said there were dark spots like low circulation on the left boy that was killing me, but nothing else they could do, pain went away after a day or so. Not sure what even caused it to happen but has only happened once in my 34 years of being on this planet
When I was 13 or 14 I started having pain in my left testicle. A sharp like needle pain when moving so I had to walk slower to minimize the discomfort. Forgot what it was but it required an operation. I will look it up in my medical history because this video made my curious
Having too strong a cremasteric reflex/muscle can result in a condition called retractile testicle, where the offending ball keeps getting pulled back in your abdomen, where it stays until manually repositioned. Not painful but can have quite a psychological impact on quality of life etc. Had to push the NHS somewhat to do something about it for me, but they have now done a procedure described as 'division of cremasteric muscle' at the same time as carrying out an inguinal hernia repair. Only on day three of recovery but so far so good. It's odd because I can still feel the muscle pulling from time to time, but the offending ball continues to swing free!
I guess their could be an increased risk of testicular torsion as a result of the procedure but that's an acceptable trade off from my perspective.
As a wound care specialist NP I have seen so many cases of Fournier’s gangrene and it is truly horrible! In my experience primarily in diabetic females but a few males as well. Truly debilitating and long healing process depending on the extent of the infection and surgical debridement required.
Some of the worst genitalia pain i felt is referred pain from stenosis in the L1 to S1. It was like someone kicked me in the balls several times a day for weeks. Just when the pain subsided, there was another bout.

I feel a burning sensation every time I peed. I sought a doctor for an STD test but found nothing.
The worst? When I had epididymitis due chlamydia and had balls big as tennis balls. I never knew I had chlamydia and only thought it was a bladder infection, in a year I thought I had more bladder infection. Till one morning I came from bed with balls big as tennis balls and couldn't walk from the pain. I went to the house doctor how we call it in the Netherlands and she knew what it was. Took the standard test and urine and I got immediatly doxycycline and I had three cures for this infection. After a week with good pain killers the testicals shrink. And this left an abnormality of the left testicle.
This is a good video to test if you have empathy, I was worried for my boys the entire time haha.
I was holding my balls in self defense
I got testicle infection month ago and I did not know that extra bloodflow can be so painful..
Well... those don't sound very pleasant. At least some seem to be temporary conditions unlike chronic scrotal (content) pain, which is more enduring....
I have intermittent paralysis of my left left which developed just after a lower back injury in 2002. For the first 6 years, when the leg would stop working during walking, I would shift my body weight to my right leg and push up, with the Left leg slowly starting to work again after a few minutes. But each time I did this sideways-upward gait recovery movement with just my right leg, pain would quickly develop in my right groin, inguinal area, pelvis, upper quads and right testi. I injured the area again in 2008 and the 2014, when the leg gave out suddenly and unexpectedly. I use a crutch today, for the few times that I must walk but otherwise am restricted to bed due to this injury, lower back pain and sciatica. Enjoy life while you can.👍
I had a double torsion worst thing thats every happen to me!
My grandson had testicular torsion when he was about 2 yrs old. No clue how, it tended to show up whenever he tried to learn how to use a potty. He had to have surgery to fix it.
As Elaine from Seinfeld said: "I don't know how you guys walk around with those things." 😂
You forgot the pain experienced by babies that are just a few days old, when they are strapped to a plank and a "doctor" cuts pieces of flesh from their genitals.
Are you talking about circumcision? I heard the baby doesn’t feel it at all
@@Akotski-ys9rr "You heard" 😆
@@Akotski-ys9rrHow about actually researching it before you make comments on something that you know nothing about, it's the same thing as FGM in case you're wondering!
@@cebruthius well I don’t know. Is it true?
@@Akotski-ys9rr The tissue targeted for harvesting (yes, it is sold for money) is attached to the genitals with tissue similar to that which attaches fingernails to fingers. That makes it equivalent to tearing off the nail from a baby's finger. Do you think the baby will feel that? Do you think they need to be strapped down for that as well?
very interesting video to nonchalantly pop up on my feed thank you youtube
Aaaaannnnddddd just like that I feel weak all over....I'm gonna go sleep it off now. 🤣🤣😨😰😵💫😴

It must be painful, but I need to watch it
