@@PunchFishing I think I'm going to stick with the schimino 300 dollar price point but thanks for that information. I've used high end rods for a long time and then I tried finding 100 dollar rods with good sensitivity and brain I've had it it's time to go back to useing the high end stuff. Brian you are not going to get what you're looking for if you're not willing to spend the money on the high end stuff. Brian 4 more days and I'm getting my first ever schimino expride B rods. The technology that schimino is useing now is absolutely outstanding I've done so much homework on the way this company is building rod's and it's second to none. Thanks so much for spending the time to school me especially on the schimino equipment. Brian that poison adrena rod's is insane. Brian I saw a guy at icast holding that poison adrena rod with three fingers on the end of the rod waving it around just to show you how ridiculously light it is. Thanks for the video on the 7'3 expride B extra heavy Brian that's what they should name that rod the HAMMER. It's always a pleasure speaking to you and watching your videos I'll be watching your videos until I'm dead . Because I truly believe in this high end stuff. In my opinion I think you're just making it harder if you're not useing the high end stuff.
I just received some of these new tatula SV and this is definitely the smoothest reel for the money that I've ever felt It literally feels like my Steez!
Thanks for the great video! I had a chance to check out the JDM 24 Steez SV TW at a local tackle shop here in the Philippines, but I wasn't too impressed. I did pick it up along with the 24 Met DC this past weekend. Excited to get out and give them a try.
Hey Brian thanks for the video it's always a pleasure listening to you Brian you have so much knowledge about the equipment rod's, reels and it's helped me decide on witch rod's and reels to pick from diawa I think I'm going to go with the zillion rod's. Añd the tatula sv reels. Thanks again Brian for taking the time to make these videos for us. God bless
Good vid dude! But man, I've gotta disagree with you on the Steez 24 on some aspects. I find it so good, in fact, that I sold my Met DC to buy another one. I'm up to four purchased now and HAVE been buying them direct from Japan for basically $300 less than what the US market is selling them for, which is nuts; no clue why they're charging this. Anyway, it throws further than my Zillion21...SLP Works Zillion AND Steez reels which was the first thing i noticed out of the box. Against the Met DC they were both throwing far and basically the same distance which is cool, but I'm more into accurate shorter casts these days equating to more times into the water...increased odds...etc... I'm skipping with it just fine but you might have a point with the SV Boost spools not skipping as well since they're a little more open after startup. I completely disagree with you on how it handles wind. Even on big lakes here in Texas on WINDY days it was considerably superior for me over the Met DC with regard to handicapping either reel too much with the braking. The Steez 24 boost spool is a new spool design from Daiwa with regard to size and width, just wanted to mention. The braking dial on the Steez 24 though...horrid...just horrid! You are right though, nobody should pay $750 for a reel...so there's that for context. And I do mirror your sentiment in a prior video where you basically preach a Zillion 21 or Bantam 22 is as far as you should look from either camp; spot on with this. Now onto the new Tatula...I actually like the way it looks minus the graphics and "Tatula" flair they kill the reel with. My first thought with regard to the design was it looks like it'll be comfortable in hand, especially resting your thumb onto the spool.
You make a great argument for the new Steez SV! I really do like it overall, I wasn't TRYING to sound like a hater. I'm a big fan of the Steez line of reels overall.. I have a bunch of the previous ones. I've just been a little more smitten with the MetDC.
@@PunchFishing The new MetDC is a great reel...they basically took the Met20 and provided us substantially better, and CONSISTENT, wind performance...well more consistency period. it's just a matter of preference for me with overall reel design of the Met20, don't like the narrow and recessed MGL spool and high thumb bar, that I sold it off for the new Steez24 that I had to jump on with some great pricing out of japan. now the bantam 22 though....
Please update us on how the Great Lakes Minnows works out & which one you prefer. I have been getting into mid-strolling & moping also. Good luck tomorrow.
I almost feel like a rep for this company at this point but…I like my steez ct, met dc, zillion, bantam, and I love my bates hundo. That reel palms better than others and can do everything other throw large swim baits and it’s just because of the spool size. It feels old school and new school at the same time. I’d trade the met dc all day long for one. You should try one. Nice video as always.
Well you can really skip with any reel. It's more of a skill that you hone over time with lots of practice. Some reels are definitely much more forgiving if you're not an experienced skipper.
I just bought several packages of the Great Lakes Finesse Hover Minnow and can't wait to try it out on my highlands reservoir that has a lot of suspended spotted bass. Have you tried the US made Trika rods that claim to be very sensitive?
Is the tatula as smooth as the zillion? Since Tatula now has hyperdrive and sv boost, I feel I can save money and get the same performance of the zillion
My opinion for the met dc vs steez sv debate. Met DC: more refined, feels sturdier, smoother, and casts further in any condition. Steez sv less refined, in addition to feeling hollow I can feel the gears more and the reel just isn't as tight as the met dc. The performance isn't better, but is easier to dial w/o having to adjust spool tension knob. Steez sv also doesn't have over spool when you have the reel in free spool, the met dc occasionally does. Steez also casts with less effort but still feels choked. IMO Met DC wins this round quite easily especially once price is factored in.
I get why they upped the price of the Steez SV. They want to take all your little left hard earned money in our current miserable economy. On that, I am guessing the older non boost SV spool maybe is why the old steez skips better ? Boy it seems that the Tatula SV may now kill the momentum of the Zillion SV for the price unless it's not so solid after using.. Thanks for the updates on the soft plastics and Met DC..! interesting..

The Steez SV is $750 MSRP. I kept saying the incorrect price!

is the news geez nicer than the old one?
Thought on the Tat sv 150. Personally I feel as if they went backwards using the old 2017 tat sv frame but it does look better than the old model.

Can you do a on the water video with the tatula
Could u compare the casting perfomnce between curado mgl 150, old D sv 103 and this one?
Is there a difference steez SV TW JDM over US ? I can’t seem to get any good info on this. And what would you guys choose. Met dc or Sv
great video thanks for sharing

All that just to be wrong 😭
@@avocato2829 Not wrong, my own experience with the reels I own. Maybe I just got a subpar steez
So what Megabass rod is that?

Thoughts and opinions on the new Dobyns Xtasy strolling rods?
I've not looked into them

That’s a weird and long way to say “Steez SV is better than Met DC”. 😹👍🏽
The new Tat has the new gearing too. You should have mentioned that.
So is that real you're talking about a tatula 150? Your title says tatula 100!!
The Spider 🤢
Daiwa is trash. Garbage. Throwing money after Daiwa in hopes it is better than the real reel companies is moronic
