I can see your point, but don't quite agree. Adriana actually liked the life of being a mobster girlfriend, she didn't see the core problem in her life, which was actually being with Christopher. And it wasn't like she had no choice, unlike D'Angelo who was practically born into his life, he didn't like it, he didn't like following his Uncle, but he felt it was something he had to do no matter what, he had no choice, it was family. While Ade was just naive and greedy and she paid for it. D' Angelo wasn't greedy or naive, he was smart actually, he just wasn't hard enough to say to his Uncle "no" a lot earlier. Another character from The Wire actually was able to do that, one Cutty.
