  • Changes
    (Rabin/Anderson/White)
    I'm moving through some changes
    I'll never be the same
    Something you did touched me
There's no one else to blame
The love we had has fallen
The love we used to share
    We've given up pretending
    As if you didn't care
    Change changing places
    Root yourself to the ground
    Capitalize on this good fortune
One word can bring you round
    Changes
    I look into the mirror
    I see no happiness
All the warmth I gave you
    Has turned to emptiness
The love we had has fallen
The love we used to share
    You've left me here believing
    In love that wasn't there
    Change changing places
    Root yourself to the ground
Word to the wise - well you get what's coming
One word can bring you round
    Changes
When I look into your eyes and try to find out how
There's no way to save it now
    And everything I feel
    Changes
    Keep looking for
    Changes
    Changes
For some reason you're questioning why
I always believe it gets better
One difference between you and i
Your heart is inside your head
    One word from you
    One word from me
A clear design on your liberty
Who could believe when love has gone
How we move on like everyone
    Only such fools
    Only such jealous hearts
    Only through love changes come
    Change changing places
    Root yourself to the ground
    Capitalize on this good fortune
One word can bring you round
    Changes
    One road to loneliness
    It's always the same
    One road to happiness
    It's calling your name
    Change changing places - changes
    Root yourself to the ground
    Capitalize on this good fortune
One word can bring you round
    Changes
    Change changing places
    Changes
    Root yourself to the ground
Word to the wise - well you get what's coming
One word - one word can bring you round

It is a masterpiece. This is the band that adapted to all in the most professional fashion in the 80s, Shorter songs, video, smaller venues on tour and a legacy and a brand!... It was a really cool joke that 90125 was the UPC of the album and " Big Generator" said PRODUCT on the disk, fucking geniuses were foreshadowing what was to come in the industry.

Yes indeed people. There's so much "power that money can't buy" ,as I like to say, in this song it's ridiculous.
Yes indeed it is a masterpiece. My ex wife and I saw them play live in the Paramount theater in Seattle. The Union tour.
Many people can listen to music, powerful music lyrically, musically or whatever and it never grabs their attention. I'll never understand it.
My friends my wish is for you to see some dreams come true. I'm one in billions, I'm not one of them-I'm three of me. See you on the other side.

@@Metal_Vistas - Drama is my 2nd fave next to Close to the Edge. Drama is the "heaviest" Steve Howe, and that's a great thing :).
But I agree that Trevor resurrected Yes to a new era, and "Talk" is severely a VERY underrated album. "Endless Dream" track is an EPIC masterpiece.

    • @BrianHunsakerMusic
      @BrianHunsakerMusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

City of Love is the only song that isn't great on this masterpiece of an album. It's more consistently awesome than any Rush album, except possibly Moving Pictures. It's basically down to City of Love vs Witch Hunt, as every other song rules. Endless Dream off Talk is great, but the other Rabin Yes albums have a lot of filler unfortunatley. I do prefer Yes-West to all Howe material, but I got into the former first.

I studied the personality disorders for over two years before I could wrap my head around it. If you look into what a sociopath/psychopath is, you find out about how the brain function of a psychopath is very different from a normal human. You also find out that sociopaths aren’t rare at all - but that they’re all around us. Trevor, like most of us - and like many songwriters in the 80s, seemed to be struggling to come to terms with sociopaths in life. What I hear in this song is a kind of close brush with a sociopath that will leave a person reaching for ways to make sense out of what happened to them, and to heal by summoning the will to re-align with inner happiness in order to survive.

Human brain "measures" time passed by the amount of memories. Child has very little experience, so nearly every moment for him/her is something memorable. Thus, brain counts that as "a lot of time has passed". Old person has very little new memorable moments. Brain counts that as "little time has passed". When that person looks at the clock, he/she is confused - "how come so much time has passed ? ".
      So I heard... :)

Both the older Yes and the 90125 were distinct and i think right for the times. I kind of came away with the idea the tour was an afront to Rabin as he wasnt around much longer after that...Really for Yes overall it was a awakening in 90125..My take...
Songs like Answer to Yes, others from old still get my ear though..
Bruford was amazing, i saw him with a keyboard player once, more of an exhibition type show..Extremely talented drummer..I took his fine work in by King Crimson..

Memory from the 90125 show at Reunion Arena in Dallas..When shows first came through there they had trouble getting the sound focused as it could bounce in there..By the time that show came in, the sound for it was unworldy..Best sound I can remember hearing besides maybe Journey in 1981..No comparison on the musical performance..Journey was a different show bit Neal Schons use of Rolands guitar synth really shined there.
Yes was simply a show where the sound was tight and all around your body..

  • @smokinjz
    @smokinjz 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    I'm moving through some changes
    I'll never be the same
    Something you did touched me
There's no one else to blame
The love we had has fallen
The love we used to share
    We've given up pretending
    As if you didn't care
    Change changing places
    Root yourself to the ground
    Capitalize on this good fortune
One word can bring you round
    Changes
    I look into the mirror
    I see no happiness
All the warmth I gave you
    Has turned to emptiness
The love we had has fallen
The love we used to share
    You've left me here believing
    In love that wasn't there
    Change changing places
    Root yourself to the ground
Word to the wise - Well you get what's coming
One word can bring you round
    Changes
When I look into your eyes and try to find out how
There's no way to save it now
    And everything I feel
    Changes
    Keep looking for
    Changes
    Changes
For some reason you're questioning why
I always believe it gets better
One difference between you and I
Your heart is inside your head
    One word from you
    One word from me
A clear design on your liberty
Who could believe when love has gone
How we move on like everyone
    Only such fools
    Only such jealous hearts
    Only through love changes come
    Change changing places
    Root yourself to the ground
    Capitalize on this good fortune
One word can bring you round
    Changes
    One road to loneliness
    It's always the same
    One road to happiness
    It's calling your name
    Change changing places - Changes
    Root yourself to the ground
    Capitalize on this good fortune
One word can bring you round
    Changes
    Change changing places

Graduated in 82, oh god how I wish I could have a do over, can I? What I realize now, what I had back then, I wouldn't trade it for the world. The 70's and 80's, kick ass time to grow up in.

This 1983 song is the epithany antidote cure to the 32+ years of Depression I fought B.-1982 here had no idea he lived so close to us in Washington probably seen him or passed him And didn't even know it..... I'll jam their songs going down the freeway always even at 40....today.... I love music it's like a friend that never leaves you you can always go back and just listen to it out of all the yes songs this one is my absolute favorite

Appreciating this song today makes me realize how fortunate I had been in my early teen in 1983--the year the album 90125 came out.

This was the very first concert I ever attended; hard to believe it was 1983. Very hard for any other concerts to compare to and I been to a lot of them in the past 38 years! One of my top 5 favorite groups of all time!

Trevor Horn thrashing the life out of production on this. 1982! Unbelievable quality, still amazes me on the mix, eq and sheer quality. Louder the better...my fave Yes album.
