This is the sound that the original release was missing. It sounds far more open and vicious, giving a much more visceral experience. I'm someone who often likes to close my eyes and vision every track in my mind when listening, and this feels far more.. surrounding, like it takes up more of the 'world' around me, so much more than the original release could. Its also much easier to my ears, I always found the original programmed drums to be a bit too loud and clashing against the other instruments.
This is what the original album needed. I'm so glad they decided to remix it, its allowed me to appreciate just how good the tracks on this album are.
Oh, and all the bonuses! You're certainly getting your time and/or money's worth with this one.
Couldn't describe it any better than that. This would have blown people away after Mechanize I think, but I like the fact that we have both versions. Usually I'm a bit of a purist and not big on going back and remixing or remastering records but I always wondered how The Industrialist would have turned out if they had put live drums on there and it's even better than I could have hoped for! I just knew that that record was damn good and given a bit more time to work on it and perhaps a bit of funding from the label to get some live drums on there it would have been received as a worthy follow up to Mechanize. Then again, if there wasn't that backlash on the programmed drums on The Industrialist we may not have gotten the amazing Genexus as a comeback album. Regardless I am stoked with this now!

And the last track is a cover from the band, Big Black. I never knew they covered Passing Complexion. As much as I love all FF albums, I feel that The Industrialist is runner up to Demanufacture. It’s kinda hard to beat that one. Lol
Yes... it definitely felt more immersive... and live drums, even if quantized, always sound better for metal, even if industrial flavored.

This is NOT live drums. There are no phase issues, the timing is perfect (especially cymbals!) and ALL PERFORMANCE IS IDENTICAL with the original. If you are into engineering prove me wrong with facts and arguments. The only difference is is superior drummer 2 vs superior drummer 3.
Some of the fills are slightly different and very "Mike Heller" in execution. Definitely played by him, also sounds like his snare.
@@kingpriapatius5832of course the "timing is perfect". They still quantized and snapped to the grid. They were still played live by Mike, some of the fills are different if you're super familiar with this record, which I am.
Listen to the outro of The Industrialist. At around 5:20 just before going into it, there's a fill which isn't on the original. There's your "facts and arguments" big brain engineer man.

A drummer behind the kit instead of a keyboard is very much appreciated. It brought a whole new dimension to this record. If this doesn’t solidify the fact that FF has a legit drummer nothing will. This is a treat 🤘🤘

Industrialized is one of my favorites albums of fear factory 🖤
With this album I started to love them alot
To finally have this in the wings, with knowing this could have been what came after Mechanize, is mind blowing.
Mechanize, followed by Industrialist, then Genexus, then Aggression is absolutely insane. Banger album after banger album. You don't hear of too many bands pulling it off that many albums in a row.

I've been looking forward to this for a few months now and it really doesn't disappoint. The production is beefy and clean and the new drums sound great - just that touch of human warmth which was missing from the original. Just listen to that drum fill at the end of Recharger (9:26)... absolutely killer. I'm also really glad that Enhanced Reality has been added to the album proper, it's hard to believe this song was relegated to being a bonus track on Genexus, it's a fantastic song and fully deserves its place here. Top marks to FF for this release, great stuff 👍

Always considered this an under-rated record. It did sound a little flat with the prog'd drums. It punches a lot harder now and it has Fear Factory's 'definitive' style with the heavy syncopation, straight-forward song structures, and Burt's big vocal melodies. It's a great formula that the band could have held harder onto. The latter records leaned into death metal-ish songwriting, sounding closer to Divine Heresy and the roots of Fear Factory. It's a cool style but it's less catchy. Genexus did rock my sox off, though. I'm sure Dino and Milo will come up with killer songs for the next record. Milo is gold - has the pipes, the production knowledge, the fan love for FF. What an awesome find!

The real drums, the electronic elements being more pronounced in the mix, and including Enhanced Reality really elevate this. Industrialist was always a weaker album to me but this new reissue may sway that opinion.
