Nonnos, poet of the 5th c. A.D. from Panopolis, wrote "Dionysian", an epic of 21,280 verses that describes all the achievements of Dionysus starting from his ancestors, Cadmus 'grandfather and Semelis' mother, his birth in Thebes until his apotheosis and his ascent to Olympus. "Dionysiaka" is the largest poem inherited from Greek antiquity and is divided into 48 books, as large as the Iliad and the Odyssey. Their central part (books 13-40) is about the campaign of the god in India.

Chandra gupta was of the gupta dynasty and chandra gupta maurya was of the maurya dynasty. Gupta dynasty started much later after the decline of maurya dynasty after 400 years or 500 years later

    • @SantoshGairola
      @SantoshGairola 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@arindambose9863 arey bhai what you are saying is what we all read in our history book.
Problem with it is that it comes from Biblical time frame, not some solid logic.
Story starts with William Jones, who was looking for Sandrokottos of Indika of Megasthenes, in Indian Puranik texts.
There were two Chandragupta in it, which sounds similar to Sandrokottos, as you mentioned.
If he would select the Gupta king, then the whole Purana timeline would predated Biblical age of earth (William Jones mentions it).
Thus Chandragupta Maurya was selected, to keep it all post Biblical.
      Problem with this are many:
      - It is Sandrokottos, and not Sandrokottos Morious or something
      - Chanakya/Vishnugupta has no memory of Alexander or Yavana/Greek, even though he was prolific writer and lived well before and beyond Chandragupta Maurya.
      - In Indica, son of Sandrokottos is Amitrochates. Whereas son of Chandragupta Maurya is Bindusar. Son of Chandra Gupta on other hand is Samudra Gupta, which is vocally close to Amitrochates. The imaginary Amitraghāta is created to fit the theory.
      - There are kings and kingdoms that Alexander encountered, all are close to Gupta dynasty, not Maurya dynasty.
There is whole thesis on it, I read long ago. Need to dig.

You are 100% right! the Greeks whom ruled parts of India loved it and became Indians, Scythians were used to fluidity, and Kushans were familiar to the 100 schools of ancient China. True Philosophy was part of their culture, where as to the anglo colonists 2000 years later it was the musing of an annoying wise man to be kicked down. India and every other great nation is so poweful over so many centuries because the are not insecure.

I am Gorkha and in Nepal you dont find and difference between Hindu and Buddhist Gorkha ,
It is only the way of worship is different ,
Which is also in different in different Sampradaya in Hinduism ,
Shiva worship is different from Shakti and both of them are different form Vishnu worship
Tantriks have different form of worship ,
There are 100s of different sects which have different style of worship that does note make them different religion alltogather

that statement was just plain wrong. Hinduism is an Astik Indian philosophy while Buddhism is a nastik one. Astik means one who accepts the Vedas. So unless Abhijit thinks one can be a hindu while not believing in the authority of the Vedas he is just lying. There are 6 branched of hindu philosophy that accepts vedas: Sankhya, Navya,, Yoga, Mimhansa, Viveshika, and Vedanta. There are considered hindu traditions. Other Indian thoughts that don't accept the vedas are buddhism, Jainism, ajvika, and charvakya etc.
Buddhism is Indian. Buddhism is not Hinduism.
