The Hip is my f***ing favorite band ever. I can't get enough of The Hip. I'm 18 and if I could time travel I'd go back and be at every single one of their concerts.
I met Gord in Toronto at a doves concert. He was genuine and a great guy to talk to. I smoked a joint with him and he invited my friends and I back to his place. Unfortunately we all had to work in the morning. We regret it to this day.
@Matt Miles you were so blessed to have had the honour to meet such a beautiful soul as Gord Downie. He was amazing to watch and he gave it his all up on the stage. He had a smile on his face from start to finish. Matt, you can "would -a ,should-a , could-a ,,, your self till the end of time, but rather than "would-a, could-a, should-a" , take a step back to that particular day, and embrace it and consider you and your friends as lucky or should I say again, honored to have had that pleasure. What a beautiful memory for you. My guess is that not many people were able to meet the man, nevermind to just see him in concert!!!! What an incredible memory you now have to meet such a kind man who absolutely loves his country. Hold that time close to your heart because it is yours and only yours.
I willl forever be grateful for Gord Downie's vision, music and generosity. God Bless Him. We have lost a Canadian Legend! I can't imagine partying or playing music at the camp without including a bunch of Tragically Hip songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Gord for your gift and sharing it with us! We love you, will miss you, and I can't wait to party with you in the next life!!!!
Lucky enough to have seen the Hamilton leg of the last tour. My daughter surprised me by sending me a text of the tickets she was able to secure. We went to the show together while she was pregnant with my grandchild. Memory to last a lifetime.

i was blessed to see The Hip live... its surreal to know this is the final time Gord sang this song.
Gord killed it- love, and respect to The Hip. A moment captured in eternity. Never forget where I was when I saw this song.
