Very well said... Goes to the being humble part that Isaiah Thomas said LeBron needs to understand comes with his greatness. LeBron has always come off as shallow and in need of everyone's approval, that's why he does all of what he does in front if the camera. It's all a PR move for, which is fine if that's what you call it. Don't front just be real and we can accept you for who you really are. But the guy wants to be worshipped and adored so much that he can't help but do stuff that's going to keep him in the lime light. It's actually pathetic to a certain degree.
Stephen Sutton y’all both wrong as hell. LeBron started a damn school and has stood up for Black people and racial injustices. Jordan would never because he as he once said “Republicans buy shoes too.” Jordan doesn’t keep his charity quiet because he’s humble, if you watched his hall of fame induction you could clearly see how petty the man actually is. Jordan keeps a low profile out of greed, the more neutral he remains, the better his shoes sell.
@@Thatguy-sb2jo really?!?! It's a public school. He ain't start it, it would be different if he built a private school by his own money. With his own hand picked staff. Did he help getting the school going? Yes. Did anyone knock him for doing it? No... But giving him credit for starting a school when that's not what actually happened. Is exactly what we're talking about. He just got to have his name in the headlines so it is said by the media he started a school. Which isn't the truth, again tell us exactly what it is and we'll respect you for that. But good try THATGUY, all you did was prove my point.
@@Thatguy-sb2jo then you bring up him standing up for injustice. Great job LeBron, that has nothing to do with him being the GOAT. So the fact that he has a mindset to reach a certain height as a mogul, you can't tell me he ain't gone sell himself in front of the camera's. It's not all bad, but is it all genuine? @John Bennett true. And when lebron cant handle the problem. He will turn his back.. Find a new team. Left cleveland for miami when he felt he cant win there anymore. Left miami for cleveland when he cant solve the popovic problem. And then left cleveland again for L.a when he cant solve the gsw conundrum. While mj stuck with his one and only team and made it a dynasty.
He indeed beat the GSW, but GSW was not the monster that won the 73 games at that point. Their players had been littered by injuries. Steph had ankle problem, One of them had back problem, the ref also crippled them by sending off Draymond. They literally loss their moral in those final games. So yes Lebron did indeed beat them, but he hadn't beat them when they were still considered a monster and most people who are neutral to both could see that.

@@thelotusloft4874 I don't have hours at a time to waste online lol so, sorry for delayed response. Once again, another person getting offended at a word that is not offensive nor a personal attack - which proves my point. For example, if I have never been skydiving then I would be "ignorant" on the subject of skydiving. It does not make me dumb or "stupid", nor should it make me get defensive simply because I lack knowledge or information on that subject. It always amazes me how defensive people get at that word - "ignorant" - which usually just proves the point, and is really just bringing into question an individuals knowledge on a subject. Which is the point of a debate, to challenge the ideals of others and sincerely question the information they claim to have or don't have at all. No need to get angry or defensive just because i questioned your knowledge on this particular subject - that is the essence of debate. Its merely a challenge to PROVE your position, and it produces healthy debate. If people can't handle the questioning and critique of debate, then they shouldn't enter therein. Stat for stat? U still haven't mentioned anything other than rings... classic lebron supporter. Once again like I do on every other forum - here's the facts: Lebron has played 105 MORE games thus far in his career. MJ still has 1 more league mvp, 3 more all defensive team awards, DPOY (lebron has none), 9 more scoring titles, 300+ more points, 605 more steals (lebron will never catch), and 3 steals leader awards (lebron again has none). Notice we haven't talked rings yet? MJ beats lebron in every individual statistical category, offensively and defensively, except rebounds and assists. Then u add the 3 more rings and 3 more finals mvps and it only helps compliment the already existing facts. What's more, is that Jordan's entire career his teammates only had 11 all-star appearances TOTAL. 7 of those are Pippen's. Just Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, Love, and Allen alone have 43 all-star appearances 😐 that's not including other lebron teammates that had all-star appearances as well. So at 105 more games played (more time to do it) and with WAY MORE HELP (30+ more all-star appearances) lebron has accomplished much less. Most of all, advanced analytics further prove everything i'm saying = MJ was more efficient. He accomplished more in less time with less help. He was better offensively and by far defensively, and it led to him winning more (ie EFFICIENT). All lebron fans got is "rebounds and assists and stuff" lol. They both have the same amount of all-star appearances and same amount of all-star mvps = wash. They both got rookie of the year = wash. Their FG % is less than 1 % difference = wash. Lebron has a 2 % better 3 point percentage (wow!), but MJ'S FT % is much higher - 83 % compared to Lebrons dropping 73 %. So that negates a very small difference from 3 PT %. There's all the stats - "stat for stat - and all lebron got is rebounds, assists, and 2 % from 3 lol. That's it. Not much of an argument. Lastly, I am Mexican which u would have realized easily if u knew my last name. My older brother's name is Juan. Not quite Bob, but close lol. I married a white girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. 2 of my kids are blonde with blue eyes, but our 3rd is dark with dark hair and brown eyes. My dad is from south Texas/Mexico (grew up there). My mexican aunt, his sister, had kids with a black guy. So I grew up with black cousins, never even realizing they were "different" until a hateful world told me otherwise later in life. They were just my cousins to me as a kid. I wonder tho, what do u have against white people? Like my wife? Why go out of your way to criticize and make fun of people you don't know, like my wife and 2 children that look very "white"? Are u racist? Do u have a problem with Latinos as well? Do u have any jokes about them? It is strange that a conversation about basketball would be taken to this place by you? Since you're so curious, 3 of my closest life long friends are black and we play ball together all the time. One of them has even attended the church where I am the pastor, and it's a very diverse church - asians, blacks, Latinos, and yes even "whites" or European decent to be more accurate. You do realize that Spain and Spaniards are from Europe, right? Albanians (of which I have an uncle) and many other European races don't always look "white", u get that right? "White" isn't exactly an accurate and intelligent way to describe European decent. It is a melting pot over there, much like America. Fishing is simply a hobby, and I use it to meet with and connect to people. I do it on the side for fun. I have a lot of black friends that like to fish - surprising I know. Along with pastoring a diverse and young church, I also oversee all the boys and girls clubs in my county. I'm the "boss" lol. But you're right, u know me well, i'm doing nothing meaningful or productive with my life. It's a shame that I was merely entering a debate and challenging u on the subject of basketball (for fun), and then now we're here because you attacked me personally multiple times and made many false assumptions about me. Its just sad. Wish you the best. MJ still the GOAT and it ain't close 🤣🤣👌 it amazes me how people get so offended and defensive so easily and how people have lost their sense of humor. God help us.

Stephen a JUST said that he deserves all the credit for being the star he is, being an inspiration and blah blah.... it did NOT translate to the greatness u tryna sell me on because for as much of an iron Man he is, Mike did more with many more disruptions on his career (some his own doing, some because of life), than Bron did wit virtually no disruptions except for this groin injury. every LeBron Stan keep pointing fingers at key things - LeBron is naturally taller and bigger than Mike, got unique passing ability, a sensitive to social issues...all that -- Jordan is skillfully better, physically more talented(not more resilient) and altho he came back and lost to the magic in playoffs, dude got another 3-peat with an OLD squad. Mike heart and killer instinct is too much, which is why he could do what he did as a smaller player in the league (in comparisons to pf and C, which are most of the other all time goats). so, yeah - Karl Malone was in the league for 23 years and accomplished less than LeBron, so...🤷🏾♂️
@@sij809 Well said. Well said. Personally, I think Lebron has the best BUILD and physical attributes in the history of the NBA. The thing with Kobe was he had that thing with Domestic Violence or whatever and I don't think his reputation really fully recovered after that and it's really unfortunate. And all i see in Lebron is someone who tries to impose their will and dominance and when that doesn't work he flops to the ground and tries to get the person ejected. Lebron's comment ensures he is disqualified from any GOAT talk. His fans are the only ones who will argue about that he will surpass MJ through basketball, then when facts get thrown their way all his humanitarian work gets put into the debate. First off all, humanitarian work don't quantify to basketball skills, so get that shit outta here. Secondly, Bron always seeks popularity, validation, and a spotlight. MJ was only obsessed with one thing...winning. Lastly, Lebron is not acrobatic, he is simply physically dominant. He can push who he wants out the way. Mike had to twist and turn to get his points. Stats are inflated over eras so I usually try to base any comparisons by sheer determination and physical ability. If MJ was as talented as he was but with the same physique as Lebron, he would be GOAT times 1000x. The fact MJ had as much success as he did in a shorter time span is incredible in itself. If anyone needs one last thought, I'll leave you with a quote from Lebron himself off ESPN... "I just think what Michael Jordan has done for the game has to be recognized some way soon," said James, who has worn 23 since he was a high school sophomore. "There would be no LeBron James, no Kobe Bryant, no Dwyane Wade if there wasn't Michael Jordan first." MJ is GOAT. Always.
Even if there was social media back then, I just don't see him doing it. Maybe hire someone to post once in a while but to do it himself? Time is money for businessmen. He won't waste it in social media. He didn't seek validation. The only thing he wanted was to win championships and prove to naysayers back then that a shooting guard with no dominant center CAN win.
@@chey6975 Believe it or not Ch Ey, times are changing. Social media is where the money is. LeBron has evolved. He understands that. So it is no knock or negativity on LeBron, it's just that some don't agree with his GOAT comment. But unlike Danny Ainge, I respectfully disagree with LeBron. I get his logic and perspective, but I still disagree. Personally I believe Danny Ainge's comments were pretty low.

But I guess lots of other teams can. Say the same about injuries
People seem to forget the most important thing. Outside of being an offensive monster and defensive presence etc. outside of rehashing all the accolades and stats. Jordan played in a much tougher era. Never flopped. Never got accused of being “weak.” Above all, Jordan was a killer. He took the other teams heart night in night out. If I ask you to honestly name the player your team fears most. Be honest with yourself. It’s not a unanimous “lebron!” Curry, kd, noobs...or flavor of the month guys. You ask anyone in that era who they feared their eyes would gloss over and one name came to mind. JORDAN!
You can’t call it a foul when the rules allow it. That’s an excuse. You can’t breathe on another player today without it being a foul. You can’t claim more skill when you can’t actually play defense. If Jordan played today, or even Kobe, they would wipe the floor with lebron. Next.
@@bunsaynon2743 Anyones skills are gonna be heightened when u got only shadows ur showing ur skills in front of and too. Its not about fouling more than its about it being ah physical sport that is no more...
@@franyk7071 They have been changing the rules as it pertains to fouls even when Jordan was playing. The goaltending rule was created because of Wilt Chamberlain, this was before Jordan's time. A rule was changed for the 1993 Playoffs, any player that immediately threw a punch got ejected from the game. Some of these rules we talk about were changed before or during MJ and the Bulls reign. We talk about rule changes like they just happened 5 or 10 years ago. Some of these well talked about rules were changed 20 or more years ago. And another thing, I believe LeBron would have done just fine holding his own during those times of body slamming NBA players on the court. LeBron just know how to play into today's rules that is all. He would have adapted and or played into the rules of yesterday just as well as he has done today. However, I am glad some rules were changed like the violent aspect of it.

@Lorian LothThe second best player had to join gsw to beat lebron, MJ NEVER had to beat a team like GSW. And no pippen was an all star and already good player by there first ring thank you. MJ had Pippen who is a top 50 player and told 10 or under defender who could do it all. So he could carry as much as jordan. If kyrie wasnt shooting well he wasnt doing much else. With gsw ability too shoot/play through 3 different players it makes it much easier as they dont have to carry as much a load and can work harder on defence. Lebron had to work the offence trying to stop an all time great team. When MJ vs portland, they only had drexler with no all stars where as mj had an elite pippen. Vs magic, magic had no one but bench players. Vs Barkley, Mj had a prime pippen. By there second three peat the bulls had 3 hall of fame defender, arguably the greatest rebounder, defender and offensive player. So mj could relax more on offence and in general. If I had to compare them it's difficult because they're so different. As far as competition I believe Jordan's eastern conference was harder but some of LeBron's finals matchups were harder. So for Jordan to make it to the finals it was very hard and then a few of his finals matchups were slightly easier. For LeBron his journey to the finals was easy but some of his finals matchups were hard. That's their "journey to the finals" comparison, trying to be objective and fair. In my opinion I can't remember a time when Jordan didn't give it his all. When he lost to the magic in 95 in his midyear comeback. That series he didn't look great but he went down shooting and being aggressive. I feel like with LeBron I've seen him at some crucial moments disappear early on in his career. I've seen him be passive. I don't mind players losing. I just don't like players who don't stand firm and face the challenge. All i ever hear from these people is garbage like "but Lebron had a triple double", like that excuses his play in all the moments in big pressure games where we saw him disappear in the biggest moments. Not to mention that most of the numbers he's put up in losing games were during garbage time where the game was already out of reach. But most important of all: MJ never had to go around telling anyone how great he was. He didn't get a tattoo saying he was the "chosen one", or call himself "king". Jordan didn't need to say a word... his "talking" was done in the court in the games biggest moments.

Stevie, Being great too is also determined by the great players that was denied a championship by Michael and the Bulls. Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller and so many others that he had to face in the playoffs and deny them and go on to win. In the early days, they had to fend off a hard hitting and talented Detroit team. They had to see off a talented Laker team, Celtics and a slew of exceptionally talented teams. The fight for playoffs too was more competitive, if you look at the stats for teams at that time too, the margin was much less than what we are observing now. Jordan kept his charitable acts more private and out of the public eye because being truly charitable isn’t about it being public...
Neither thing you mentioned has anything to do with him being the GOAT. But the truth be told he craves being in the headlines period, because it's all PR, you can't build a brand without PR. So the fact that he has a mindset to reach a certain height as a mogul, you can't tell me he ain't gone sell himself in front of the camera's. It's not all bad, but is it all genuine? Doubt it and when he has to go to the extreme of dubbing himself the GOAT just to keep people talking about him says it all.

•Michael Jordan in the playoffs has put up atleast 40ppg, 5rpg, 5apg in 6 different playoff series. Along with an average of about 55% shooting, 3spg and 2bpg.

•in 87 thru 92, MJ averaged 5 straight seasons of atleast 51% FG shooting. LeBron has never done this.
•the lowest FT% MJ ever shot in a season was 78%. Lebrons highest in a season ever is 78%.

•MJ also shocked the league by being the first (and only) player to have 100 blocks and 200 steals in the same season, then turned around and did it again the next year..
Seriously this list can keep going. This isn't even a debate. Mj is the GOAT.
Michael in only ELEVEN complete seasons with the Bulls:
-10 STRAIGHT scoring titles,
-Won Defensive Player of the Year,
-9 times all defensive team,
-9time All NBA,
-5 league MVPs
-6 finals MVPs
LBJ missed the playoffs completely in his first 2 years. Jordan didnt with scrubs on his squad. Jordan played 82 games 9 times in his career once at 40. LBJ only played 82 games once. In 89 Jordan won the scoring title all star MVP slam dunk title regular season MVP and Defensive Player of the Year something LBJ has never done. Jordan also averaged 41 pts a game for an entire Finals shooting 50% and won. Something else LBJ never did. All 11 seasons. MJ has done in 11 seasons things Lebron hasn’t done and won’t do in his whole career.

I love you.. lol
Lebron beat the monster (GSW) .. MJ WAS the monster ..
Perfect
He indeed beat the GSW, but GSW was not the monster that won the 73 games at that point. Their players had been littered by injuries. Steph had ankle problem, One of them had back problem, the ref also crippled them by sending off Draymond. They literally loss their moral in those final games. So yes Lebron did indeed beat them, but he hadn't beat them when they were still considered a monster and most people who are neutral to both could see that.

- Lebron lost to a Dwight Howard Magic team with no superstars in 6 games.
- Lebron has been the best player since 2008 according to Lebron fans but he couldn't beat the Magic to meet Kobe in the Finals.
- Lebron is so great and GOAT that he had to leave his team and jump to another team with two franchise superstar players. Not role players, superstars.

- Jason Terry averaged more PPGs in the '11 Finals than Lebron, GOAT. LOL.
- Lebron would've lost the 2013 Finals if it wasn't for Ray Allen's shot.
- Lebron loses the Finals in the following year by a record margin in 5 games. LMAOOO. But he's the GOAT. LOL.
- Lebron got cramps in San Antonio. Meanwhile, Kobe and Jordan will play till they die basically.
- Lebron then jumps ship again since he's the GOAT and so great he bails on Miami and goes back to Cleveland, like talk about loyalty. SMH.
- Lebron loses in the 2015 Finals where he was in position to win when he was up 2-1 with Game 4 in Cleveland with Kyrie being hurt he had the chance to cement his GOAT status by going up 3-1 but couldn't and lost those Finals as well.
- In 2016, if Kyrie didn't hit the dagger three, Golden state would have won.
- Lebron scored 11 points in the 4th quarter in the first 3 games of the 2017 Finals.
- Lebron lost in 5 games again in the 2017 Finals. LOL.
- In the biggest stage of them all, it doesn't matter how many times you made it, kids. All that matters is if you won it and Lebron's Finals record is
2007 - L (Swept).
2011 - L (Lost in 6 games).
2012 - W (Won in 5 games).

2015 - L (Lost in 6 games). His 1st back-to-back Finals loss.
2016* - W (Kyrie's Finals winning shot).
2017 - L (Lost in 5 games) GOAT.
- Lebron almost three-peated in the Finals with losses.
2018 - L (Swept yet again in the Finals after quitting in OT of Game 1).
- Lebron quit yet again as he scored only 23 points and attempted only 13 Field Goals in a must-win Game 4. Cavs bench player Rodney Hood even had more FGs with 14. LOL.

Once again like I do on every other forum - here's the facts:
Lebron has played 105 MORE games thus far in his career.

Always.
How is he not acrobatic? Tf
Jordan didn’t have social media to market his charitable work.
Or hightlight his problems
Even if there was social media back then, I just don't see him doing it. Maybe hire someone to post once in a while but to do it himself? Time is money for businessmen. He won't waste it in social media. He didn't seek validation. The only thing he wanted was to win championships and prove to naysayers back then that a shooting guard with no dominant center CAN win.
Or how hater janky he was

Fouling because you can’t play defense doesn’t make you a good competitor. The NBA is far more skilled today then it was when Jordan played
You can’t call it a foul when the rules allow it. That’s an excuse. You can’t breathe on another player today without it being a foul. You can’t claim more skill when you can’t actually play defense. If Jordan played today, or even Kobe, they would wipe the floor with lebron. Next.

We talk about rule changes like they just happened 5 or 10 years ago. Some of these well talked about rules were changed 20 or more years ago. Too many bronsexuals in this thread
That's not to even mention they had a great bench with players who could shoot like kukoc, kerr, buechler etc
I'm a LBJ lover. He's a great man on and off the court... but MJ man (smh) I don't think ANYONE is even close. I think MJ is beyond great and to me it's silly to think anyone to this point in 2020 can measure up to him... I just don't see it. I'll never say never but I don't think anyone in my lifetime will surpass MJ. Last year no one called LBJ the GOAT and now there are some whispers... LBJ as great as he is doesn't come close. He really doesn't.
Lebron has played with more superstars and all stars than any other top player ever. Hes played with 8 top 5 draft picks (Wade,Love,Bosh,Irvin,Ingram,Ball,Allen,Shaq) played with 2 of the top 5 picks in his own class ( wade, bosh) 2 of the top 5 3 point shooters of all time (Ray Allen, Korver) and countless all stars. All while facing easy competition in the East throughout his career and still never beating the Celtics until he went to Miami. He is def a top 5 player imo, but hes not close to MJ.
Really, an old-ass Shaq? Other than that, I really can't disagree.

When you are the best player it's your responsibility to try to save your team. If they're missing shots you need to take over and not care about the consequences if you miss. Jordan is always that guy and LeBron is that guy only sometimes. That killer mentality is what puts MJ over LBJ in my mind. Just my opinion.
Michael, Magic, Bird, Russell, Wilt, Shaq, Kobe > Lebron James
Shang Tsung alot more actually
1. Magic is not better than LeBron 2. Larry Bird is nowhere near LeBron
3. If you really wanna do this, then Bill Russell is the GOAT and Robert Sorry is second.

5. If you think Shaq is better than LeBron, you do drugs
6. LeBron is better than Kobe

@Laxatives Dre ....what has lebron won without Kyrie or Wade? Go on... I'll wait.
@Laxatives Dre Kareem Abdul-Jabbar never made an NBA Finals without Oscar Robertson or Magic Johnson. In the 5 seasons that he played without them, he missed the playoffs twice. In his 5th season, he had a 38-44 record, which is the same as Jordan's rookie regular season record.

People need to stop this. It's not even close... LBJ got SWEPT in the finals how many times? How many finals games did he lose? The man lost more championships than he won! And these millennials and old Jordan haters are delusional trying to even put them in the same conversation - let alone above MJ.
Listen, i was alive to see them both. The reason MJ was, and still most likely remain, the greatest ... was that he never failed to rise to the challenge. He never choked. Never got blown off the floor. Never got swept in a finals series. And never needed his teammates to bail him out because he was a nonentity in securing the W.

MJ would make LBJ cry and leave the court if they ever played. LeBron is the millennial man. He is insecure, all about himself and an underachiever (see OBJ and Antonio Brown). He constantly quits on his teammates and blames them for his defensive lapses. He will never overcome how he vanished in the Dallas series and how he quit in cleveland the first go round.
Stevie, Being great too is also determined by the great
players that was denied a championship by Michael and the Bulls.
Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller and so many others that he had to face in the playoffs and deny
them and go on to win.
In the early days, they had to fend off a hard hitting and talented Detroit team. They had to see off a talented Laker team, Celtics and a slew of exceptionally talented teams.
The fight for playoffs too was more competitive, if you look at the stats for teams at that time too, the margin was much less than what we
are observing now.
But Scottie made a great point that silenced the critics, MJ didn’t have to say he was the best, he didn’t, he respected history and the
past players, but he was pleased for his moment to shine. That’s greatness.
