    Hi! I am an ESL teacher who just came to Oman from Pakistan. Your videos immensely helped me in the early days of my career as an ESL teacher abroad. I was frustrated before and teaching abroad was becoming tiring, but since I have watched your videos I feel glad to be in this new learning and teaching experience.

    Fabulous - As a just retired Early Years teacher learning to teach ESL I loved listening to you -and am really pleased to see you suggesting using Jolly Phonics! Even my B1 students had light-bulb moments when I showed them how Jolly Phonics is used to teach reading.

      Hi Delisa, thanks so much for arching and welcome to the Mooncake community! Thanks so much for the feedback, it’s really appreciated. As a new editor the background music was something that took me a while to get just right. I have tried to correct this in my newer videos so hopefully if you watch those, you won’t run into the same problem 😊 Thanks again!

    TPR (Total Physical Response) is a language teaching method that uses physical movement to help learners understand and remember new language concepts, making the process more engaging and less stressful. It makes language learning more engaging, helps students retain information better through physical movement, reduces anxiety, and supports comprehension before production, creating a fun and effective classroom environment. I will definitely use this technique!

      @MooncakeEnglish  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Michael, thanks for watching, welcome to the Mooncake community and best of luck with your degree! In terms of TPR, it's really about putting an action to a word or syllable. So, if you wanted to practice you could take some simple nursery rhymes and try making some actions for those songs. It will help get you thinking about what actions you could use and how to put them together in a small song 😁

      @@MooncakeEnglish I'm originally from the Philippines and I've been teaching Kindergartners in Thailand for a few years now. I went home in March but unfortunately, I can't fly back to Thailand yet because airports are still closed. Long story short... I was on the hunt for useful online teaching tips and stumbled upon your channel. So, I gotta give you credit for what you do. 👏

    Hi Jema Perry! I appreciate the information in your video. Do you mind if I use your video in my class with your permission? This would greatly aid my students in their understanding of total physical response and its significance in language learning. Thank you so much for your response!
