Thank you very much Richard for the detailed information. You helped me to grow my own dragon fruit and the journey was exciting now I have my first fruit and just waiting for it to ripe I would like to share a photo with you
Today, I watched episode 1-8 of growing dragon from cutting and then your big harvest season 2023. I really enjoyed the content you provided, it is excellent and very profound. I learnt so much. Dragon fruit from seeds was an eye opener. All the best and I will reach out on your channel as I begin growing an interest for this crop and fruit. Thank you so much!
You’re so good with sharing your knowledge of how to care for Dragon fruit plants. I’ve really learn a lot from you that I followed exactly your instructions when I first started in 2021, this is the second year that I enjoyed the fruits. Truly appreciate you Richard, thank you. I’d look forward to see the color of the flesh of these dragon fruits that you’ve just harvested. God Bless you and your family.
Marking the date of pollination as well as with the pollen source are really brilliant suggestions for all dragon fruit aficionados/lovers. Your enthusiasm for dragon fruit is intoxicating. I hope to enjoy similar bountiful dragon fruits like yourself. Thanks Richard!
Richard, You just answered one of my questions whether different varieties could be grown together on the same container as you have shown how you combined two different varieties/strains (if it applies to plants lol) in the same container. I have grown my collection from one variety to now 5 varieties. So inspiring. It shows how much you enjoy caring and growing the dragon fruits. Thank you
A few days ago I went to buy 15 gallon pots the add said “$2 a pot…you must buy 30 at least” so I notice he grows dragon fruits…I ask about the dragon fruits to the guy selling the pots…and he says “you want to try them?” He cuts two of them one white flesh and the other red he hands them to my wife and I….then he cuts other fruits from the other trees and gives them to us….I was blown away by his sharing ways….
Hi Richard. Have you found the cross pollination of sugar dragon results in consistently smaller fruits, other than the one example with A5 in this video?
Awesome harvest! You have so many beautiful varieties. I love the different colors of each of your dragon fruit. Super exotic and such a great video! Thanks for sharing ❤️👍❤️
Hello Richard. You kept mentioning the fruit is 40 days old. When do you consider the first day of the fruit? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Great teacher.
I have nearly 30 varieties(most are still 3-4 feet in length) and I've been writing down date and pollen used. From 8 flowers, now I have 3 successful that set fruit. I am using Vietnamese Red for the most part since its self fertile and pollenating self sterile with other self sterile varieties in hopes for fruit. Looking forward for next year.
Hi Richard, I read that you should be able to gently twist the fruit and it will fall off when it is properly ripe. How true is that? Do you recommend that approach?
Richard, I am preparing to order my first cuttings:: Physical Graffiti, but what should I select for a cross pollinator that is also good to eat? I am in 9b so heat and cold tolerant are important. I don't know how different the variety needs to be in order to be valid for cross pollination.
Richard, my dragon fruit bloomed late and they are not going to hit the 45 day mark till sometime in November. Will it not taste as good as one harvested in September? This is my first batch of fruit.
Have you noticed a difference in the harvest this year? My Dragons bloomed 2 months late. One not at all. The amount per plant is lower. No sign of a second set of buds. North San Diego County
The shape of your dragon fruit plant looks perfect. Only long branches from the treillis. I ve see other plants from others where it looks bushy and chaotic. Can you explained why yours look so perfectly clean?
Ok now Rich cant be to greedy now brother ill shoot you my fax number and fax me a few fruit bro.. Nice harvest👍🍻🇨🇱 Keepem it coming...by the way make top 5 pollin variety to cross other...🙏🙏 God bless
Love to have some of your dragon fruit plant like thai gold and purple haze, if you happen to share some , much appreciated, thanks always love watching your blog.
Feel like pouncing on the rich harvest. Richard ! are you going to eat them all by yourself ? Obviously, you should , for the great pains taken to grow and create new ones. Happy culmination. ❤😊

Awesome harvest. While watching I was developing questions to ask but you answered all of them in the video. Very helpful tips for those interested in growing these, especially how long til harvest and how to keep track of everything you do on the plants/fruit. Excellent video.
Ok, I'll have to keep you posted. My first and only plant is a Delight that just flowered for its first time and only is self-pollinated.@@GraftingDragonFruit
But if you cross th condor with another different dragon fruit. It's not th same fruit . Th reasons why it's bigger cause it's turned into a highbreed. As to how th other is small cause it's original condor
Learning so much from you! After you harvest the fruit, will the branches need to be cut off or can you just leave the plant to continue growing without pruning?
Be sure to hit that 👍🏼 and leave a comment. It’ll help me produce more content for you all. Thanks friends!
Thank you very much for imformation how good to cross breed.
Thanks brother, can l ask? R u fertiliser use for?

Hello Richard. You kept mentioning the fruit is 40 days old. When do you consider the first day of the fruit? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Great teacher.
I count the first day after I pollinate the flower. 😁
Another question - some of the branches are yellow, should they be cut off or do you just leave them?
I have nearly 30 varieties(most are still 3-4 feet in length) and I've been writing down date and pollen used. From 8 flowers, now I have 3 successful that set fruit. u have a very wonderful dragon garden.
Thank you
Hi Richard, I read that you should be able to gently twist the fruit and it will fall off when it is properly ripe. How true is that? Do you recommend that approach?
You can definitely do that. There are many that prefers not cutting it off
Very insightful 💖
Yooooo whats up Richard nice harvest 💪🏻

Great, I hope you get more harvest
I hope so too!
Richard, my dragon fruit bloomed late and they are not going to hit the 45 day mark till sometime in November. Will it not taste as good as one harvested in September? This is my first batch of fruit.
It just depends on the weather
Have you noticed a difference in the harvest this year? My Dragons bloomed 2 months late. One not at all. The amount per plant is lower. No sign of a second set of buds. North San Diego County
Yes it’s later this season because the weather was cold for a good while
Richard, thanks for your videos...love them all. How long does it take for the seeds to germinate?
really enjoy your video!! one question, what size are the pots and where do you get them?
Hi where can i find thai gold plant in sunnyvale any idea, also can u share how u have done pollination of dragon fruits
You need a bigger bucket 😂❤
I do! Next time
If you pollinate with different dragon fruit pollen does the taste change due to the pollen from the varieties? Hope that makes sense
Yes usually slight deferences
Thank You @@GraftingDragonFruit
The shape of your dragon fruit plant looks perfect. Only long branches from the treillis. I ve see other plants from others where it looks bushy and chaotic. Can you explained why yours look so perfectly clean?
I keep only 4 plants max and trim for maintenance
@@GraftingDragonFruit thanks for the response. Very useful. We ll start trimming . Thanks Richard
How does the location of the plants in your backyard affect your fruit
Thanks great content well done
I like as much as the mushroom and sweet potatoe people out there, plant and fungus people rock.
Do they get ripe this late after two and a half years I got my first couple of dragon fruits just flowering Sacramento zone 9B
No this year started really late due to the weird weather
When you cross pollinate do you have to use the same variety?
Can you do a video on top 5 best tasting df? :)
I have one on my top 5 to grow. Look on the channel
Thanks! Would your top 5 still be the same if you included the varieties that aren't self fertile or self pollinating?
Ok now Rich cant be to greedy now brother ill shoot you my fax number and fax me a few fruit bro..

Mine finally grew a bud about last week. Is it too late in the season?
No it’s still good. Fruits may not be the best though as it gets colder and less sun
Nice. What gallon pot are you using?

Magnificent collection Richard. Can you tell me what other pollen can be used to pollinate Purple Haze? Thank you.
Any that’s not in the same family lineage
@@GraftingDragonFruit Sorry Richard, could you give some examples of compatible pollen? I'm a beginner. Thank you
Do you sell cuttings and/or pollen
Love from india ❤... Here we also grow dragon fruits 😋....
Sabe dizer quem transfere a maior carga genética na criação de um novo híbrido, o que fornece o polém ou o quê recebe o polém?
We just bought a small dragonfruit plant a couple of weeks ago.
And I'm not sure if I should be pruning my dragonfruit or not lol. I just transferred it from the pit it came in to a bigger pot.

I don’t have but there’s a meet up in garden grove this on October 8, 2-5pm and there will be lots of fruits. See flyer on my instagram and Facebook
I really enjoyed watching you I have the plant but no fruit pls help me
So you have one harvest a year?
No this is only the first wave

Thanks for watching and glad I was able to get all your questions answered through the video!
how could we buy seeds from you?
Not at the moment
My dragon fruits have black ants on the fruit how to illuminate them.
Delight is self-sterile? Every single source on internet says it's not only self-fertile but also self-pollinating. Are they all wrong?
In my experience with my testing with delight. It was self sterile for me. You can try to test it yourself to see if it’s true or false.
Ok, I'll have to keep you posted. My first and only plant is a Delight that just flowered for its first time and only is self-pollinated.@@GraftingDragonFruit
Delight is self fertile dude . I have one @@GraftingDragonFruit
Where’s Vietnam white?
But if you cross th condor with another different dragon fruit. It's not th same fruit . Th reasons why it's bigger cause it's turned into a highbreed. As to how th other is small cause it's original condor
it’s a hybrid once you use the seeds to grow it
Why haven't you removed the infected stems?
They’re not infected
I wish I could get some cuttings straight from God of dragon fruit himself ❤
One day!
I'm getting a lot off flowers and no fruit i observed that there is a lot off ants on the flowers is that the reason why I'm not getting fruits
Are you hand pollinating them and/or cross pollinating?
Learning so much from you! After you harvest the fruit, will the branches need to be cut off or can you just leave the plant to continue growing without pruning?
Eat and show us.
