    When a boyfriend tricks Lucy (Scarlett Johansson) into delivering a briefcase to a supposed business contact, the once-carefree student is abducted by thugs who intend to turn her into a drug mule. She is surgically implanted with a package containing a powerful chemical, but it leaks into her system, giving her superhuman abilities, including telekinesis and telepathy. With her former captors in pursuit, Lucy seeks out a neurologist (Morgan Freeman), who she hopes will be able to help her.

    The "I feel everything" scene is sad because Lucy knows she's evolving and will lose her humanity. It's her last time she's able to express human emotion.

      "Evolving" to a rtard? Only a rtard would use less than 90% of their brain. And ONE person can't evolve. It doesn't work that way magically. It's not religion.

I always say it was Scarlett Johansson’s first audition for a solo Black Widow movie, her proving she could lead a successful action film and she did it. She really is such an extraordinary actress. I also really love her speech about humans creating finite systems to describe an infinite universe. I’ve been thinking about that since middle school, long before this movie came out.

    Luc Besson also created "The Fifth Element"; 20 years later, he created "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets". Highly recommend!
    The opening sequence is phenomenal.
    You can tell the true visionaries by how much their work is hated at initial presentation. Not just dismissed, not just rejected, but hated. It takes a while for the audience to catch up. It takes a while for small pieces of the pure work to be nipped off by other creators and derivatively combined with less ingenious art, so an audience can mature on those bits, learn the symbolic 'language' and understand the original work.
    "The Fifth Element" was panned at release. "Lucy" was hated. And, oh the derision that ensued over "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets". But then, no one liked "The Wizard of OZ" or "Blade Runner" at first...

  • @allietone20

    Here is my theory as to why she didn't kill the Korean Mob Boss. Since everything is time there is also the probability of certain thing are suppose to happen in their own time. Maybe she foresaw killing him early would somehow delay her ability to reach the capacity of becoming infinite herself. Maybe she already knew things were to play out the way they were supposed to, because the people who are important at the moment is the scientists and that one cop, because they have some meaning to time and the infinity of it; timeline wise.
    In other words they were important to the timeline, the other people weren't.

  • @SneakyKiwi71
    @SneakyKiwi71 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    I love this film! I've watched it 3 or 4 times, I think. I think that Lucy asks the cop to hold the doors because she knew she was running out of time. If Lucy had stopped to deal with the incoming, then maybe she would've lost cohesion again

    It is written like many egocentric scientists that refuse the possibility of a creator or God but believe without any scientific facts, that we humans can become a god and cause our own creation. That said I found the movie to be very entertaining and with talent like Scarlet Johansen (doesn't hurt she is drop dead gorgeous) and Morgan Freeman. In my mind Morgan Freeman and James Earl Jones ooze so much talent, just their voices can tell an exquisite story 2 hours long with just a dark black screen and deserve an Oscar.

    4:38 Lucy is a great movie. I went to see it at the cinema. Crank meets The Matrix and Total Recall A dumb woman transforms into an advanced superhuman when a bag containing an illegal drug transplanted in her stomach leaks.

    What sucks is that even though Lucy gave her word on the drive, you can have a NASA super computer to read it a d it still wont be enough.

    Scarlett Johansson and the actor who portrayed Richard had starred in the live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell 3 years after they've done this movie!!!!!

    Always like to think the kiss Lucy gives to her police partner is where she passes on a piece of herself to him. Later he has a daughter, who is a stable Lucy, for a sequel.

    2:17 Product placement or not, what kind of minimal thought does it take to associate Evian water being used by an _ACTOR PORTRAYING A KILLER_ to wash his hands would as a result think of Evian now being associated with murder? That is absolutely ridiculous.
