My wife and I spent 6 years in In Saint Joseph Missouri. For about 3 years before we had kids we Lived In an old apartment just 3 blocks from The Shakespeare Chateau. We walked the neighborhood for years and enjoyed it every time. I remember when It was for sale And Isobel purchased it and moved out here from Colorado(I think). While it was extraordinary at the time It by no means was the beautiful polished gem it is today. We visited with Isobel many times and toured it and she loved showing us the projects she was working on. I can only imagine the hours and hours or laborious, tedious work that went into so many areas of that house. I truly don't know how she did it. Its hard to believe now but There were areas in serious need of saving at the time and had she had not came around when she did parts of this could have been lost or damaged for ever. She should truely be thanked for whats shes built and saved here in Saint Joseph. Many properties there deserve it but will never be lucky enough to have someone like Isobel step in. Congrats Isobel! Its been years but I hope to visit down to Saint Joseph again in the coming years and The Chateau will definately be a stop on the list. Ryan and Luz Lindeman
We have visited this home and it's truly a beautiful house. Thanks for reserving the beautiful glass and wood. We often talk about out visit and the aweee craftmanship.
Holy smoke, that foyer makes my 1874 grand Victorian entrance look plain. How is the cherry wood not twisting because some of our 7ft cherry doors in our music room have a slight curve to them after close to 150 years. And no electricity until the 1910s? Surprising for an opulent neighborhood.
She doesn’t really believe it only took 1 or 2 years to carve all that wood? Seriously not even with 100 expert carvers from around he world would that be possible!
