  • This week we are taking you through some of Omaha’s finest historic homes. You get some of the highlights from the weekend event in the Blackstone District.
See the painted ceilings at the Storz Mansion, the decadent interiors of the Brandeis Mansion, and the exquisite mahogany ceilings at the Metz Mansion.
I am so inspired by the preservation and decor of the incredible houses. They are such important parts of architectural history and deserve the love and care they have been given.

The Storz brewery building, at least the smokestack for it, still stands. I believe it’s on north 16th Street, east side, around 15-10 blocks north of Dodge. 👍 It’s made of red brick, and lighter brick spells “Storz” on it.

I grew up in Omaha. I loved walking around old areas where there were beautiful old homes mansions. There were a number of huge abandoned mansions with carriage houses outbuildings left to decay. They were often open so I'd explore them. Some would have hidden rooms staircases for servants. Miss those days now rely looking at others explores

There are so many beautiful old homes in Omaha and sadly many have been demolished. I’m so grateful to be part of the movement to preserve and restore some of these gems.
