In the UK there is a caviar producer who dont need to cut into the sturgeon. Means the fish can produce more eggs another year. It is massaged out instead. The fish isn't harmed at all.
The fish is injected with hormones to remove the eggs. Also the fish is also used for meat. Most sturgeon produce eggs every other year so it takes alot of money (energy, labor and feed) to raise them another two years so economics go into that consideration.
I agree. Don't harm them, just extract the product. Would you kill an elephant just for it's tusks?
@@kaylaluther2805 I wouldn't do that even. I might not be a vegetarian but I do respect the life the animal has, and we have a responsibility to give livestock the best care possible. And the need to not waste what it could provide. It is a waste to kill a creature then discard the carcass. This way the animal lives, it isnt harmed and it can help replenish in repopulate wildlife populations and not just for caviar.
I'm Hebrew and Native American. Waste not, want not. God tells us to respect and care for all his gifts. We are his sheperds. I agree 100%. They will continue to harvest pregnant females for rich folks delight. Quite morbid. I wish we could live in a world these things didn't happen. The truth is, it will always happen if we don't spread some awareness.

Movie theater popcorn is expensive because Disney keeps most of the profits from their movies. So that's how theaters stay in business, so people like you can the latest stupid marvel movie, and do fortnite dances in the theater. If disney stopped being so greedy, movie theater popcorn wouldn't cost so much.

Felt so bad watching the fish live their whole lives programmed till adulthood only to have their bellies slit open for so called luxury food. 🙁
You probably never heard, breeding process which requires to kill Male fish just to take small part of its brain and use it to make the female fish pregnant (produce eggs)

I thank the people ( well the fish too, but mostly the people) who provide me with this nectar everyday in my life... keep it up.. thank you...P.
These fishes are always well fed. they live healthy & peacefully in clean environment with their kins all their lives. at the end of their life cycle. their deaths arent waste away to rot on the bottom of rivers. but they provide great value to the world economy. create jobs for many people to feed their families, bring joy and nutritions to many dinner tables.
as far as i see these people really know how to handle them with care. they put down the fish first, they dont cut them open while still alive which is good. they are really good compare to some nasty cruel cow farms

but do you have a point?

Here in our region (northwestern Arkansas, USA) Paddlefish are taken out of our lakes by fishermen for the caviar during the spawning season when the fish is easy to take from the shallows. The fish's gutted bodies are often found floating in the water afterwards. Paddlefish caviar is said to be comparable to sturgeon.
Waste of paddlefish imo

Caviar is the most "meh" thing ever. People would think fish eggs are disgusting but they aren't bad. I enjoy the occasional salmon roe sushi on occasion, but like fine wine people buy this purely because it's expensive. Not because of how amazing it tastes.

I mean if they are raised in farms and not taken from the wild then it’s similar to salmon or other fish species which you should only really eat if they were cultured.
Also when they are bred like this they always release a few in the wild (males in particular) which helps with the overall population

WoW great videos thanks
Wah dahareun si siska khol ieu mh🤣
Though, i still dont get why it is so damn expensive, like, we can clearly see that they can produce more sturgeons!
It’s expensive because it takes around 8 years for a fish to reach maturity and produce eggs of a desired quality. Feeding them for that long adds up quite a bit, processing takes a ton of permits, it’s one of the most regulated foods on the planet, and on top of that it takes a highly trained group of people to produce it and produce it well.
EXCELLENT
