    We prefer the SQ7...better daily driver, great power with just ok fuel economy. I am a BMW guy but we have owned almost as many Audi's and the third seat is a factor for us when we are with 6 adults going out to eat. The Q7 feels larger inside and has more head and legroom. Lastly the quatro set up has proven to be more responsive and easier getting us through the snow when it is nasty out.

    I actually have a 21 X5 M50i and do have the air suspension and the rear wheel steering... It's amazing.
    I drove the Audi and Mercedes and they just didn't have the feel of the BMW. It wasn't even close.

    Got the SQ7 atfer comparing both. It's a family car first, more room, more comfy, low rider (looks like a big wagon when dropped). Sound is quite.....surprising. Value was better also when equipped similar. In Canada the SQ7 has tons of standard features that are optionnal elsewhere.

    Great review.. the candor is very much welcomed! I just bought the Q7 and yes it may not turn eyes as quickly as the BMW but the ride and tech is undeniable!

    I believe this is the first comparison review of the two SUVs. Great job! As I was cross shopping these two a few months ago, I couldn't agree more on the points you made in the video. I could have chosen the X5 M50i if I could opt for dynamic handling package and air suspension at the same time, but sadly not. So I ended up with the SQ7 for more rear leg room, adjustable second row and better ride quality. And with active roll bar and sport differential, it behaves amazingly well in corners. For that price tag, SQ7 is the most budget friendly yet most practical car to have the V8 TFSI engine. Paying less but getting better acceleration numbers than a Cayenne GTS, the dual touch screens are no longer that terrible to live with.

      Dude you are right with your choice. I have owned a x5 40i 2020 for two years and I can tell that the air suspension is not sporty at all. The worst thing is that the air suspension is not compatible with rear wheel steering. As a result I traded x5 for a sq7 with sport package on.

    Great review. These two cars are in my top 5 for my next ride.
    Strangely, my experience regarding steering feel has been the opposite. I found the SQ7 to have no road feel at all through the steering wheel. I found the opposite to be true on the BMW X5 M50i. My experience driving the BMW was a connected and tactile experience. The BMW had solid road feel through the steering wheel.
    That said, Great review. Look forward to your future videos.

    I prefer the Audi. Audis are excellent for road trips. They are super comfortable and low profile classy. I love driving BMWs too and they do have that peppery feel. But for the long haul and comfortability since I am old, I will stick with the Audi. I had a 335i and an RS5. Currently I drive a Q5 and will definitely step up to an Q7 or SQ8. I do LOVE the look of the X5s and GLEs. But the Audi is so comfortable and the interior is solid quality.

    @bobthbldr3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I believe BMW dropped the third row in the X5 when the X7 came out so if you want seating for seven you have to get the bigger and heavier X7 (which is even more expensive). As far as styling, I'm older and I think the styling of the Audi is much sleeker looking instead of the boxy look of the BMW. To me, I like the more hunkered down look of the Audi. I would also like the smoother ride of the SQ7 in a $100,000 SUV for everyday driving, and I have read that with the sport differential and 4 wheel steering the handling is excellent. Again, since I am older I don't care for the murdered out look and the Audi looks great with the brushed silver trim.

Thumbs down to BMW for not offering the integral Steering for X5 M50i. Laserlights are WORTH IT!!! I used them on the PA Turnpike ( If anyone knows that highway it's beautiful and OPEN; road FUN!! ) The night driving allowed me use the Laserlights. I know someone will say the Audi has the new digital lights, but I love the particle look of the BMW system. You are so amazing TAYLOR!!!!!!!

    Rented the new X5 over vacation while driving 4 days around Boston. If I had to summarize, it would not be difficult. As far as interior volume, not more than my Passat. As far as comfort, real good front seats but very uncomfortable second row seats. The NAV system needs an overhaul as it continually kept misleading us not only with directions but for some reason the exit numbers on the highway were not correct! We often opted for our much more reliable iPhone maps, which is not itself that great. We enjoyed the panoramic moonroof. The entertainment and controls were not intuitive. So what would be the point of owning an X5 over a Passat? Yes I dare ask, not much. Sure the stereo is nicer and it has more power, but its not more practical. Perhaps an X7. At least with the SQ7 you get third row seats.

  • @BmwAlfa123

    I was in the same position a few months ago. The X5 just felt like a much nicer and better driving car. It has the illusion of being small when driven yet has all the space you need. The driver centric position makes it much more enjoyable than the Audi, which felt a little too tame for my likes.

    • @fatitigilo825
      @fatitigilo825 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same last year. Audi felt too tame and controlled. X5 really gave me the feeling of being in control of both the engine and the car handling. Which makes it feel slightly less comfortable and smooth but so much more confident to drive. I'd think twice about pushing the Audi through that corner, while with the BMW there's no doubt in my mind it will rip through it no problem, even if they would technically perform the same, the feel is so different.
