She said it's rent stabilized so that's why. If I had that I would never leave. That apartment could easily be used as a two bedroom! But I have a market rent two bedroom 30mins to Manhattan, that's $2200 It's large with eat in kitchen, separate dining room and living room with backyard. Yes there are still a few options outside of what is shown on TH-cam.
Rent stabilized does not mean cheap, just that the landlord can only raise the rent a certain percentage each year. This also is not in Manhattan as I can tell by the buildings outside her windows. It is a fantastic apartment, though!
People avoid mentioning the toilet, but I think it's a talking point. Is it tall enough? As a somewhat tall woman, I prefer toilets that sit higher off the floor. The less squatting, the better on my knees. Also, is the toilet located in a space that allows you to open your legs as wide as you need to. Being able to do that compensates for the lesser squatting. I think it's ideally placed when it's between the sink and the tub. Toilets next to a wall have you hitting your leg on the wall or turning your body diagonally against the seat to allow you to open your legs more. Every little thing matters in design.
Your apartment is HUGE! Shoutout to the cameraman Jason for his painting of a bowl of oranges in the bedroom - if he had an Etsy shop people would buy from him!
Your apartment is nice and clean. It does look cramped. Have you considered decluttering? Have you considered purchasing less stuff until you use up your items?
You can have someone put wood block into the cieling the put a ceiling fan or overhead light. I've seen someone do that but I forgot how , maybe electrician can help
That apartment has a phenomenal layout the entire alcohol, where the desk is in the kitchen entrance is like a bonus room area.
I love your apartment and all the cute knick knacks!
I don't understand how this beautiful space was for 2k. maybe it's away from the city. But its beautiful🥰

Maybe you should move that hamper from the hallway (It's a trip hazard there) to your spacious bedroom.

Have you considered purchasing less stuff until you use up your items?
Thanks! I am mindful of purchasing additional furniture items as I am running out of space in the apt. I try to declutter every 6 months.
