I’ve listened to this song I know a million times. Each time I CRIED! Oh my dear lord this is the most beautiful song ever with the most touching voice. Yes I CRIED! 😢
I seen her at the fair last year.. on a free stage. it was the last night and there was about 20 of us there only. I stood in front of Brandy 10 feet away and watched her whole show. What a pure talent.. I was smitten.. I'll never forget it..!
Listen...this kind of a pure tone, mixed with such honest, genuine lyrics only comes around once in a lifetime, yall! She is absolutely the REAL DEAL!! ;-)
This song of course makes me think of my father. He passed away when I was 24. We had a complicated relationship, so this song is especially poignant to me. There was a long period of time where I was sure I wouldn't shed a tear if he died. But, I cried.
My dad passed he had cancer for two years and he told none of us kids or things would’ve been different he served in the military in this song I feel like they’re talking about him I miss you dad
You really captured the emotion of loss when it hits and you’re just helpless in the face of it. The first verse reminded me of my Great-Grandfather. I was only 13 when he passed. I know I was so privileged to have those few short years with him, but on the day he left and many after... I cried.
+Lucy W - This song is a true story...when she first moved to Nashville from the state of Washington she left her grandfather and grandmother behind (at their encouragement)....knowing she knew she might never see them again as both were in bad health. They had essentially raised her and she dearly loved them both. I saw her sing this song in a small venue in Nashville, less than 50 people, a year or so after she moved to Nashville; she closed a songwriter in the round show with this song....simply played on her acoustic guitar. It was the first time she had played it in public since her grandmother died and she had a hard time getting through it. When she finished there was not a sound to be heard in the venue and not a dry eye in the room, including mine. We all knew we had heard something special from someone special. I talked with her about 15 minutes after the show and asked her if she had yet recorded this song or had a CD of it....she said she didn't have one for sale but if I'd give her my mailing address she'd burn a copy of her demo CD and send it to me. 5 days later I received the CD in the mail; I still have it and still play it when I need to clean my eyes. I knew when I left that venue she was going to make it and she has. And she's still on her way UP. No matter what she writes or sings from here on out, I'll never forget that sweet, smart, and gracious young girl I head sing this song 12-13 years ago in a small club in Nashville.

I have felt your pain too when my 68 year old brother decided it was his time to go. May the memories of good times you had with your mom and pappy bring peace to your heart
Imagine how famous Brandy would be, if only Nashville was interested in TALENT!

The American flag displayed in the widow is not properly displayed.
I don't see a widow . . .
It is if you're inside, which is where its hanging.
People that use the American flag, that don't know flag educate ,and sing or talk about a vet is totally disrespectful.
good song, flag is backwards!
