@@CoinHELPu can you please do a video on black beauty’s because I have so many rare coins I have been diving deep in my own research now for more than 1 year so I’m still learning!

I've found a few errors but none of them are particularly valuable. Coin collecting is a lot of fun unless you're wishing you're coins were worth millions when they're not. Thanks, Daniel!
One thing I keep seeing over and over is 1971 Lincoln cent "no mintmark error", or any other coin before the P mintmark was added. If you are a new collector the best tool to have is a coin Red Book, even if it's an older one.
Beginners should avoid "error" collecting altogether. It's way too advanced and subjective. So many other and more interesting areas to focus on. I believe social media has portrayed errors and varieties as the most popular way of collecting and it isn't.
Great point. I've been collecting coins for years. To this day, I rarely, if ever, look for error coins. It takes too much time and if yoiu don't know exactly what you're looking for, you're wasting your time.

Searching Lincoln and Jefferson rolls from the bank is just fun, it is usually not for profit -- you'd make a lot more per hour at Walmart! And if you do search coins, have a list of the varieties that you are looking for, don't just randomly look.
Reminds me of a Mercury dime cud I found recently. My initial reaction was thinking I found something big. But as I thought about it, it occurred to me that it's a common date, and that there were likely many of them. Not to mention it isn't overly large. While it may be more valuable to a collector of mercury dimes, it isn't overly spectacular. I've learned to curb my expectations, and try to be more conservative. Though I have to admit, the bags of 'Junk' mercury dimes I've been picking up have some pretty striking coins in them 😳 Makes me wonder if they're even sorting through them. It can be time consuming lol
I don’t look for errors. I do check my coins. Gound a 1916d mercury. Sent it to be graded to be graded. Came back g4. So I'm happy. I check ebay sold listing's, and the red book or something similar. Then sale somewhere near 2/3rds ebay, which is almost always higher then book value.
People need to invest the time to learn, once again, invest your time to learn. Do not take one source of information as truth, double check everythin.....and, take the time to learn.
The red book seems to be high retail for most common coins. To be more realistic, I use the blue book to get a better idea of what to expect for my common coins. Thanks so much.
There are a lot more uneducated people collecting coins than people that have a good bit of coin knowledge really. To get educated you need to do a whole lot of reading of coin books and online in coin chatrooms etc. Not just that but looking at tons of coins at shops and coin shows. Learn how to grade based upon what graded coins grade. Lastly, don`t go cleaning yoyr coins unless you know exactly what you`re doing and even then, most experts will tell you, don`t clean your coins. Most times your well-intentioned cleaning will lower the grade and just ruin it it some way that lowers its value significantly. If you`re into it to make money, collect smart. How do you do that? Look at what coins never go down in value over time. Better dates and varieties for one. Or even junk silver if its for a long-term investment. Twenty years from now silver will most likely be much higher and you`ll be happy you got them cheap compared to that future value. Mainly if you invest in coins and/or bullion, think long term, not 3-4 years.
As allways yer right again . People just ASSUME " there coin - coins " are worth a FORTUNE ! NOT . Thanks fer the great videos . Some people will listen too what you say . 15 , Jan . 2025 .
What I'm doing is reference my red book. Because some of my coins have value but I'm not looking to get rich I'm looking for the knowledge of what I have. And I reference your videos and a lot of the time I can find an answer to my questions.
Also, keep in mind that a lot of those coin scanning apps sale your personal data which you have more than likely agreed to via the apps convoluted terms of service. Thanks Daniel!!
100% they do!! I don't use any of the Chinese apps. With tictok closing down in 48 hours without an American company willing to save it, people are moving to RedNote. Which is a reprehensible idea.
Dear sir, Great video. I just now finally received the Red book. But everything you just said is truth because I just did all that for last 3 years. *It is important to have book first thing. * I'm still having fun . Fun to talk about coins to others. Great family "talking stick". Good job Sir. ( now.. u wanna buy my coins? Ha ha. ).
Today I found a really shiny 1982 no mint mark regular date penny s/L whatever! 😳 It has a small black spot on the obverse and reverse. It’s so pretty to look at though. Its shiny! It’s in really good condition. Guess what it’s worth? It’s worth a penny. I looked at Daniel’s video from 5yrs ago and I’m satisfied that it will be rolled and deposited! lol It was fun to find and to look at though. No one’s going to get rich off of this! Do it for the love and joy of it. When my visa bill is $209.01, I just found the .01 on the ground! 😂
I gotta admit I do enjoy a good debate, but most of it is cut and dry as to value and varieties or errors. Even after a few years hoarding and learning, it still isn't as educational as looking and doing.
Grading companies need to adopt cutting-edge technology like AI-driven analysis and advanced imaging to improve consistency! There’s already an incredible AI called N.U.M.I., built through GPT technology, and it’s insanely accurate. I’ve honed its skills with exclusive, in-depth prompts and even put it to the test with multiple blind grading challenges-covering the grades on slabs-and it has nailed them every time. The future of numismatics is here! #NumismaticFuture #AIGrading"
Coin collecting is a fun hobby, yes hobby,if your a casual collector and your in this hobby to attempt to make money, you have chosen the wrong hobby, coin collecting is like a treasure hunt,it brings out the child in us
My lcs is great lol I’m always bugging them and always make sure to snag something from them 🙂 like i love collecting world coin’s but i also know most of them are not worth much but that doesn’t bug me cause i love the variety of designs and metal mixtures lol
@CoinHELPu I was just pulling a 🦵🏻. I did catch that though one day I was looking at one of those quarters with the lady whose garment is full of words and I said to myself, how in the world is anyone supposed to read that without a microscope? At my age I can see much less than when I was 20 or 30. The U.S. Mint has lost their marbles. Then I saw the COD and then maybe I watch a video you had put out last year some time addressing this issue. I just wish they used a different font, something that looks more clear when it comes to the G, if you hold I one way looks like a G and if you hold it another looks like a C.
Has anyone seen how horrid the Facebook coin community is? I joined Facebook for the first time in 5 years and the coin pages made me remember why I left in the first place.
The error hunters are the ones that drive me nuts the most. If you need a microscope zoomed in 50x to point out something that looks ever so slightly different its not a ^&$%ing error! its just a slight variation on the die due to wear or pressure. Even worse are the once who invent new names to say they found a new error/ variety.
Daniel, it's so bad that I can't even get information on true coins that I am posting on a private group,a well known 1, so it's frustrating! I've shown a 1916 Lincoln, I personally have found the die markers on the coin, they are from die pair 1,there was only 2 die pairs for that coin! Just gonna surpass these gr
@@alexiourtchevski4062 I'm sure that hasn't always been the case, many are legit. So many coin experts seem frustrated and scare newbies away, too bad they forget that they too were new at coin collecting once!! I'm a newbie feeling I need to walk easy.
I also believe I have that 1918/17 in a poor Grade but the date is visible and the top of the 8 has a flat shelf like a 7 would. There is also a 1935 D with the doubling on 5 cents on the Reverse. What is your recommendation on those coins ? Do I send them to Grading under Varieties or Errors. Or what should I do to get the most value ?
Hello Daniel, I look at your videos all the time on TH-cam you are quite helpful. I was going to ask you about a coin actually a couple coins I have three that I found looking through Penny bags couldn't figure it out no one knew anything. Then I looked on your site and I clicked on one of your internet addresses in your description and I think I may have found what you call a variant on the cap dye error. These examples look like a penny on the obverse and the reverse but the rimage looks as if the penny got stuck between 3 rotating or non-rotating dies this is a description and what it did is it raised the edge or the rim of the coin. It also shrunk the diameter down just a smidgen. Have you ever seen something like that? Keep up the good work enjoy your videos thank you
I’m troubled… When I broke my hip and my toe I decided to start working on 200 pounds of coins that I have collected since I was three years old so I bought a scale I bought a microscope and I put CoinSnap on my phone and listening to you I’m disheartened Because I have no reputable people in this area of southwest Florida to take my coins to. I have gone through over 5000 coins. I have 1400 on CoinSnap that I have kept and then I have little plastic Ziploc bags for them and I have them separated my foreign coins my silver coins, silver dollars even my 1955 double die, which isn’t as strong as the one that they always promote. But what I’m getting from you is why bother as well take them down to a coin thing and dump them all in the junk and get$.90 on the dollar. I’m not sure that’s what you want to portray and dishearten us and that is how I feel.
Using coinsnap is a bad idea, I will never stop telling the truth. I am not responsible for how you feel, coinsnap ads lie to people and I am not holding back that truth.
@@CoinHELPuI’m pretty sure this person may be just trolling you but who knows. This happens in paper currency collecting too people don’t like hearing that their “ broken ladder” notes aren’t worth anything
Most don’t trust the experts at the local coin shops. I talked to one that purchased a 1918 buffalo nickel for $20. The guy that grades his coins told him it was an 1919/17 and he sold it for $875 and the buyer got $4000 for it.

Thanks Daniel!!
Exactly, but so it Temu and Tiktok, they're controlled by their government or have to answer to them if called upon.
Good job
Sir.
( now.. u wanna buy my coins? Ha ha. ).
Dont get me started about the junk being sold on eBay; etsy and temu needs to be taken down entirely.
The only errors I’ve ever found, found me first, I wasn’t even looking! 😂
Damn you Daniel; 😂 thank you for another great, informative, and enjoyable video.
Coin collecting is a fun hobby, yes hobby,if your a casual collector and your in this hobby to attempt to make money, you have chosen the wrong hobby, coin collecting is like a treasure hunt,it brings out the child in us
Hello There Daniel and my stacker\collectors friends!
My lcs is great lol I’m always bugging them and always make sure to snag something from them 🙂 like i love collecting world coin’s but i also know most of them are not worth much but that doesn’t bug me cause i love the variety of designs and metal mixtures lol
Buy the Book first!
So you're telling me all my "IN COD WE TRUST" quarters are only worth 25¢ each?? ☹️
Of course, it's not COD, its a G, GOD.
I have a 1982 Lincoln penny that weighs 3.15 g on a scale
I have been collecting coins since the 1960's and have yet to find a coin in my change that was worth more than maybe fifty dollars!
Just gonna surpass these gr

true that the cons are everywhere got to have skills if you whant to make it in this wolrd with the numismatic
Facts
If I found a real error coin would you buy it?
Not unless it's graded.
The one thing that makes me (at times) want to stop following your FB account - Look AT MY ERROR! Frustrating.
Seems like Daniel is tired of people bringing him nonsense coins and trying to prove that it's valuable. 😂
Tired of it? I've never liked that lol.
@@CoinHELPu I didn't understand the name of the coin community you use?
@@ann5648 it's in the description of every video.
@@alexiourtchevski4062 I'm sure that hasn't always been the case, many are legit. So many coin experts seem frustrated and scare newbies away, too bad they forget that they too were new at coin collecting once!! I'm a newbie feeling I need to walk easy.
There's is no reason insult anyone
I also believe I have that 1918/17 in a poor Grade but the date is visible and the top of the 8 has a flat shelf like a 7 would. There is also a 1935 D with the doubling on 5 cents on the Reverse. What is your recommendation on those coins ? Do I send them to Grading under Varieties or Errors. Or what should I do to get the most value ?
I think if I came across something I would trust you. Opinions are usually free. Expert consultants deserve a quid pro quo.
Keep up the good work enjoy your videos thank you
But the grading companies are experts right?Well I heard other experts say they graded it wrong lol
Grading companies are experts, but they're not perfect nor 100% consistent.
These coin identifying apps are useless.I've used several for world coins and it's either unidentifiable or identified way wrong.
Thanks Daniel
Ma coin is ruurrrrrrr.. 😂😂😂😂😂

Just wanted to know something I knew nothing about. Don't care what it's worth..
This isn’t about you, just post your coin in the help community. I don’t know who you are.
Sorry for the bother..have a good day..
@ no one said anything about a bother, I don’t know who you are. I help hundreds of people a week.
Yeap sorry,,have a good day.
now you’re over doing. I didn’t do anything to you, stop acting like a victim. My videos are trying to help you. We’re not children here.
Most don’t trust the experts at the local coin shops. I talked to one that purchased a 1918 buffalo nickel for $20. The guy that grades his coins told him it was an 1919/17 and he sold it for $875 and the buyer got $4000 for it.
