@@timrockinberg9771 I am not trying to please everyone. I am trying to help them. It's part of my business model. It's just frustrating when I know the facts and they make it appear I don't
@CoinHELPu I get that. But that is part & parcel of trying to be of assistance. You never will please all. Though you are excellent and try, in the end it will only further serve to frustrate. Its OK to not please everybody. Its an impossible task! But you know that.
Daniel, it is easy to understand your frustration. I was in a local coin shop Monday and the owner, on a daily basis, experiences the same type of "get rich quick without any effort" attitude. There are, however, many very grateful viewers who truly appreciate all that you do. I have learned SO MUCH from you. Thank you for all that you do for the wonderful world of numismatics. Please continue doing what you do so well. We all need you (even the ones that do not know they do).
I am not a coin dealer and I have offered opinion to friends before and they get upset when I tell them the truth…. It is what it is. Everyone thinks they are going to strike it rich with a single coin.

We get the same calls and visits daily at our shop. When we offer to sell them the same coin at face value, such as Bicentennial quarters, they still don't believe us. Great video.
Why are coin dealers grumpy? Because they've spent their life developing knowledge about coins, only to get told they're wrong by someone who just started yesterday. See if that weren't so true, it'd probably make a good joke.

I'm not a dealer, but a collector for about 60 yrs. Locals know that I have some knowledge about coins and I get exactly the same response as you when I tell them that their 43 copper cent is a 48, and that someone removed the left side of the 8. They rarely ever believe me. Dble headed quarters etc. I appreciate your patience and honesty. There are a few quite unscrupulous dealers that don't help your cause any. One in particular up here in New England comes to mind. They give coin collecting a bad name. It's sad.
Coin dealers aren't the only professionals that deal with "experts" from the general population. I manage a Lumber yard and thanks to the internet and the DIY channel, everyone knows more than me, I have been in this industry for 20 years. If you ask a question to a professional accept the answer.
I think non coin collectors don't really comprehend how much of a difference condition makes. That and some people are so stubborn that they have an idea in their head and they don't accept any other answer except the one they want. You dont owe any explanation to these people. You help them the best you can and that's all you can do. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into numismatiques
My coin dealer would tell a customer that they have hundreds of 1942-P circulated Cents that they would sell them for 5 cents each. Maybe, the customer will get the picture that this coin isnt rare and valuable
In recent years, a large number of people have decided that expertise is no longer necessary. They can skim a couple of articles and suddenly know everything there is to know about a given subject. It’s as if they think the details don’t matter and all they have to do is just decide something is a certain way and that by that one action suddenly makes it their way. It’s like they think everyone with expertise just reaches around and whips it out of their butt and that is where the expertise comes from. They don’t want to accept that expertise comes from real education and real work in a given field. No one just suddenly knows something by osmosis. The way that people gain their expertise in any given field is by putting in the study time along with the hands on experience. It’s by many years of dedication to a given subject

Daniel, you can’t please everyone. Tell these deluded people “Good luck, text me when you’ve sold your coin for $1k,” and move on. Stressing over this nonsense will ruin your health.

It sounds like the issue is people can't really see the detail the way you do. As I'm sure you know, people find a coin and want it to be valuable, but in most cases it isn't. What makes things rare and valuable is that you aren't very likely to just find it in change. Possible, but extremely unlikely. Thank you so much for sharing all of the knowledge that you do. Your videos are an amazing resource!
Everyone thinks every coin they have is worth thousands of dollars. And when you explain it to them and even show them that they're not, they look at you like you're lying to them, its frustrating.
You are doing great work! Keep it going please!!! These other grifters are doing the numismatic community harm by making people think that every coin in their pocket is worth a million dollars 🤦♀️ The fact that we have put so much time, effort, money, eyesight (😉)… to become knowledgeable about the world of coins and then people think they will get rich by finding a wheat cent, or any coin they think is worth something, because they are ignorant to the world of numismatics. I looked at thousands of small cents when I started, before I even started making opinions on any cent! You are great! Thank you 🌹
Most people don’t want to put any time into learning about a topic. They just want to have all the work done for them and the results better be in their favor!
Don't ask a question, if you don't want an honest answer. I've gotten answers to questions here that I never thought to ask. That's why I continue to watch. I'm still trying to learn. Thank you!
Daniel, I love what you say and show at 5min-8min mark. Here's an idea to save you hundreds of non productive hours conversing online about worthless coins.....Make 1 or a handful shorts showing exactly what you just did but in more detail. Show how to search topics in your videos and how to find the help u community on Facebook or wherever else they can be found. If you should still find yourself conversing with someone about a coin worth 5c they think is worth $1,000. Have a generic response template with 1 or handful of shorts saying watch these for more information.
I cant count on how many times you mention coin help u. People just dont get it. Now that im here...lol i called in for my order, and i believe i dealt with Andy? What a great experience. He was professional and personable. Cant wait until i get my coins.
One of the problems is that the Sheldon scale is soo unintuitive. For us MS62 and MS67 have a firm meaning. For the newbies MSxx means nothing, it might be best to quickly explain that this is high grade uncirculated better than 99% of all uncirculated cents. It may be an archaic term but uncirculated has a firmer definition to the general public. I will often see coin channels explain that D means Denver and then just jump right into MS68 without explaining it.
Daniel there are people that have no life. He needs attention. Don’t pay him any attention. If he would watch your videos he would know more about u. U are pure and honest. I would send my whole collection if u said there only worth about 100.00 then I would get rid of them for 90.00. Thank u for what u do for us.
Daniel, I’ve been watching your videos for a few years learning along the way. Like many of us, I too have been in coin shops where there are the “I’m just looking” to the buyers/sellers of Constitutional silver, to the experienced buyer knowing exactly what to buy. Though you’re right, everyone thinks they have the “one” coin, it’s the delivery for understanding their emotions. If the coin was inherited, perhaps approach it with how May I help today? Then once their needs are explain, provide the steps taken about how your “price” was determined. Being an expert is awesome, but most don’t understand. Keep up the videos as your knowledge and experience is great wealth!
Unfortunately you can’t make stupid people smart. I can’t give you enough credit for your trying to help. Hopefully you don’t let the few beat you up. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with all of us that are smart enough to listen and learn. You are loved ❤️ and appreciated by people who have an interest and passion to learn and then to share with others. Thank you for being you ! 😊
I have been watching you now for about a month, same with messing with coins. I watch at LEAST 10 of your videos daily. What I have learned is that even though I think my coins are special, because i have a Large pile... 3 weeks later I learning that they were not special. I will look at the same coin each week to see if what I saw is still there. mostly not. I do have coins that I cant wait to show, inquire about. But when I do bother someone, you, I want to be damn sure I have something that I should be looking for. It might not be a fortune but is what you told me I should be looking for. I swear, the power of my mind I see stuff that is not there. its like its manifested to what I want to see, next day its gone... Im not certifiable. I cant wait to share, but I need more education from you and boy you have a lot. Thanks for all you do, dont give up on us.🌺
Yeah you can't expect everyone to understand it, some people do some people don't. Specially when it's in all your videos lol. But you do the best you can that's what matters. I get your frustration. 👍👍
Daniel, you are to nice a guy. Don’t let it bother you. You offer your help in so many ways people should appreciate that and always give you the props for your knowledge. This person was trying to front because you gave him a factual, truthful answer he didn’t like when he found possibly a coin sold in perfect condition, where I don’t know. In this day and age we are surrounded by ways to research coins, not like when I was a kid. You just have to accept that education is difficult and it doesn’t always take on some people. Endeavor to persevere.
Daniel there are people that have no life. He needs attention. Don’t pay him any attention. If he would watch your videos he would know more about u. U are pure and honest. I would send my whole collection if u said there only worth about 100.00 then I would get rid of them for 90.00
These coins apps and clickbait sites can be incredibly misleading in many cases and entirely wrong in some. Unfortunately, a lot of folks aren't willing to put in the time necessary to learn. Your content is excellent. You can lead a horse to water, as they say...
Hello Daniel, I wouldnt take that to heart.your videos are extremely helpful and very informative.please keep up the good work as people like myself are extremely grateful!
just like to add even though It made me laugh, thanks to showing me how to search for specific things on your channel Doing a good job Daniel keep it up
Loool 😂 Daniel this video made me laugh , I know you made this is to make people aware but that 1942 isn't a red and not even a red brown not even a ms and I am a real recent collector lol
This problem happens in every community that has a grading option Sports cards ,trading cards etc People want graded prices for non graded items and it’s annoying.
These people need to ask themselves...what does it profit Daniel to lie to you? His credibility is his business and his life!! Keep Up the Good Work Brother!!
You can’t make everyone happy. You’re noble for trying despite all the frustrations. Maybe Offer to sell all of your 1942 AU cents for 25¢ each clearing up inventory for a reasonable price. He’d either feel on top of the world with the remarkable deal or realize maybe if you’re willing to part with your hoard there’s some truth to your assessment. Probably not. I appreciate your content and hope you remember all the good outweighs the negative. You’re more patient than I am.
Daniel you can please everyone all the time, but if you please them most of the time. You are doing good. Daniel you give good advice on-line. Most dealers sell wheat pennies are selling them for 4 cents a piece. You can go to USA coin book online to find prices and the condition of the coin make a big difference. You have red pennies then I think red brown and finally brown pennies. What I saw in the picture was that the penny was the brown type. Some once said if you tell a he is going to die tomorrow they will find a way to do it. Not to be on the darker side of things people will be told the truth and about 70% believe it and the rest believe want they want.
Not much you can do about people Daniel. Just know that the rest of us really really appreciate you and what you do for a coin community. He may just feel a little silly when other coin dealers tell him the same thing. 😂 All you can do is tell them what's correct and hope that they pursue their own research and find out for themselves. I know that's what I've had to do and I'm still learning but you have helped me so much it's not even funny. So as far as I'm concerned you are the man, man. I'm absolutely a newbie by All means. But your channel has been my saving grace. 1000%❤🤗❤
Hang in there Daniel. You have so many resources people can look at. They just don't want to look at your resources because most of the time, they think they have struck it rich by an internet search and your facts are not something they want to hear.
I collected pennies when I was a kid. When I was 14, I figured out that pennies were not where my money should go. I tried V nickels but nobody liked them so I had nobody to guide me. Forward to 2009 and gold became my coin of choice. I would not ever spend money buying any silver coins or collecting any of them. There are plenty of them to go around and not enough takers to convicne me they are worth collecting. The proof is when you see how many silver dollars appear everywhere for sale in bags and bags as far as the eye can see.
The concept of grading is sometimes difficult to pass on to novices. Heck this concept is tough on experienced collectors, when we get coins back from PCGS and other grading services.
Your videos are GREAT. You should provide these clowns with the web video link and if they go back and forth, just tell them to pay NGC or PCGS fee to get it reviewed. Enough said to clowns.
Some people are beyond help no matter how hard you try unfortunately. I would imagine 99.9% of people you help are extremely appreciative to have your ear and opinion. I know I would be. I guess when you reach the point of frustration you could always try kinda Gordon Ramsay them out of your life. Sorry, I've been watching a TON of 'Kitchen Nightmares'. Thanks Daniel!!
It's not ur fault some people 's hopes fog there judgment, your teaching has beenclear to me from all your videos. Keep it up for my benefit...n I'll keep watching and like❤😊
Hello Daniel I watch and listen to your help a lot and I have for several years. In truth I never say anything because you cover pretty much everything. Know I'm nobody but I have come by a handful of coins sense I saw you the first time and I expect to make more of it soon. Well it might be the most far out thing and may or may not even be your responsibility because the only reason I really ever watched after the first time was because I was blown away by the fact that the world might be so small. Just like the Lincoln cent. I say this because I was 14 miles N of Muleshoe ranch at Jackson cabin and my mule just had escaped and my lady and myself were tracking the critter that we finely found at Muleshoe. Anyways a couple gentlemen arrived at Jackson as she and I were leaving and then later caught up to us walking and give us a ride. I know far out huh. I won't ever mention that again but I swear you were one of those 2 gentlemen.
I've seen a video saying a "rare" 1978 quarter worth 1.2 million. Also other dates. Who's this person doing these? Where do they get the info? Daniel great work.
Daniel, I understand your frustration. I don't want to sound harsh, but I am reminded of something my Grandfather use to say to me in certain situations where some people were being hardheaded. "Never underestimate the power of human ignorance."
Your Coin Help You page is a great source of information and guidance. Plus many collectors who use this page will and can answer your questions promptly and accurately
Daniel I'm the type of guy that would go in your coin shop and buy coins that I need to fit my low budget sets, and during the time of me hunting I've seen people come in trading silver and gold coin / jewelry and ignore them plus I've seen tweakers come in and ruin the whole gig!
Omg I know it's a common Lincoln cent every time I get wheat cents from bank boxes and find lots of 40s and fifty's Lincoln cents all of mine are brown unless it's a hard to find date value is very low. But I collect the wheat cents so I'm good with low value. I called the other day wanting to buy a bag of wheat cents if you still had some available. I think I might also want to start collecting the Indian head cents and the other cents coins. It's just something I like.
You've got to realize that you can't please everyone and focus your energy and time on the people that are trying to gain knowledge not value one coin they hope to solve their financial problems. As a kid you ask mom and don't like the answer so you ask dad and get the same one. Give them your answer and let them go one their way and find a better one if they can. They'll be looking 2 years from now and still have an average coin and not the answer they're looking for or a better value. Let go of the people that can't be helped and you can spot them by the line of questioning whether they're interested in the hobby or hoping to become rich after watching a youtube video. Good luck and thanks for all the help that has educated collectors who value your knowledge and time.
I am answering their question not wasting my time, it’s part of my business. It’s frustrating when they act like I don’t know what I am talking about. That is all
@CoinHELPu in my opinion when they don't listen to your wealth of knowledge about a penny they happen to find and then challenge your answer with repeated banter that is the definition of time wasted and not hearing you is totally frustrating. I was only saying that your frustration could be avoided by recognizing the ones you can't help by the way they start challenging you. Choosing my battles is something I've worked on and not trying to prove that I'm right when they're never going to hear me is something that's taken time but l know could possibly help on you with frustrating situations. Thank you for all your great years of help and dedication to the hobby and wanted to help if l could.
Maybe stop trying so hard to "help" people who already made up their mind about the coin? Say you're not interested in purchasing the coin and wish them good luck with their sale?
@ I can respect that. I'm not suggesting that you lie. I'm saying answer the questions, and then close the discussion. You will never convince someone who's mind is made up.
@ I wasn't implying you said to lie, I am saying my passion is a continued spreading of the truth, despite everything. Also, there's no ending discussions when you have a business and help community. You have to be tactful and diplomatic or get a bunch of bad reviews.
I'm not being mean when I say that some folks are beyond help when it comes to the value of their coins. I've been collecting coins for years and have bought some personal collections. Some folks think that their collection of worn out Franklin half dollars and handful of G-VG V nickels is worth far more than it is to anyone. I sometimes go out of my way to explain to them why their collection isn't worth what they think it is. Twice people have gotten angry with me like I was slandering them or something. Nobody can make their coins as valuable as they believe them to be and I'm honestly not sure how to explain to these novices that their collections are like a million others out there
Because alot of potential customers cannot follow simple instructions such as, 'don't call the store, we have a website for you to look at for that?" Lol😂😂
Hi Daniel, did you see film Idiocracy from 2006? Many pepople live without brain))) They need only short and simle answers to their questions. Your videos are very hard to digest for them))))
You're not supposed to get a hold of me unless you send an email or use the coinhelpu community. if you have an order question or want to make an order, you call the order number on the website.
Hey Daniel, You do a great job but you can't fix people who do not listen and really look at the coins. The Red grade no matter who rates it looks Red, nothing like what people ask values of circ cents. Love the show thanks.
Not all people except an answer as I've been a fool and if a professional says no good to something I have it gets spent or if copper in the copper can
I enjoy your videos. I trust in what you have to say. I have some coins I thought was worth a lot of money but watching your videos I now know they are not worth what I thought they were worth. I still love coin collecting. maybe someday I will find that big money coin.
All we can do is our best to be kind. We are tested daily in this way. God presents us with opportunities to be humble and kind. Sir, you are passing the test. Keep being you.
I don't really go to coin dealers, but I would bet there were a lot of people that think their collection is worth way more than it really is. So dealers have to deal with those people which can make them grumpy lol.
This isn't and never is about the generation the person is from, all generations have their pros and cons, but that's just how people are non exclusive of their age.
I would put the ball back in their court and not even argue when this comes up. Say you need to list it on eBay because collectors can offer you far more than I can. Then when it doesn’t sell or they put it at auction and it gets to 0.25 they can be mad at the world and will be forced to learn why they’re wrong or just be miserable.
I've been in retail for a couple decades lol. So I don't need a welcome, I know exactly how people are. It's not just a retail thing, it's an Internet thing as well. I didn't know he was looking at graded values until the second email, but he also saw my video. I guess you didn't watch all my video here. He said he watched my video about graded coins in top pop, red condition, MS67 and MS68. So he knew. A poor try at spinning it back on me.
If you take pictures from coin facts PCGS, and if you had your community let you use a range of coins for examples to get a good idea this would probably eliminate a lot of hassle from people I think Brown pennies our worst top dollar unless they're extremely rare and low mintage. And an index oh what is what at the top of the page,🖖🖖💯
This will sound a bit blunt, but the person who emailed you is a clown. To beleive the Internet AI nonsense without knowing anything is just foolish. This person should actually spend some time learning, which this person has certainly not done. Your high grade Lincoln video is excellent and even a child would recognize that the posted coin was nowhere near MS63, much less that much higher.
It's not easy to convey the reality of how rare and unlikely it is to have such a valuable coin in the first place, adding a misinformed reinforcement to their belief only breeds more negative interactions like that. The only real solution is education. Something about a horse and water.......

I've been an eBay member since Feb 1998. Lately I'm seeing crapola coins for sale or auction by rookies/amatures/newbies for insane prices. The first thing I do is look at their ratings and see 100% for most of them and very low sales transactions. They got 100% from their sale of sneakers, a hat, etc. but not coins. Everyone thinks every coin they have is worth thousands of dollars. And when you explain it to them and even show them that they're not, they look at you like you're lying to them, its frustrating.
You are doing great work! Keep it going please!!! These other grifters are doing the numismatic community harm by making people think that every coin in their pocket is worth a million dollars 🤦♀️ The fact that we have put so much time, effort, money, eyesight (😉)…
to become knowledgeable about the world of coins and then people think they will get rich by finding a wheat cent, or any coin they think is worth something, because they are ignorant to the world of numismatics.
Appreciate the work you do. I have more confidence in your channel. Then 99% of those that are on the tube
Thank You for always sharing your Knowledge on Precious Metals, always enjoy the awesome Info.
Daniel there are people that have no life. He needs attention. Don’t pay him any attention. If he would watch your videos he would know more about u. U are pure and honest. I would send my whole collection if u said there only worth about 100.00 then I would get rid of them for 90.00. Thank u for what u do for us.
Daniel,
I’ve been watching your videos for a few years learning along the way.
I would send my whole collection if u said there only worth about 100.00 then I would get rid of them for 90.00
please, Please, PLEASE don't stop helping our Coin Community, we need Quality Experts with Integrity like You👈🙏⭐️
These coins apps and clickbait sites can be incredibly misleading in many cases and entirely wrong in some. Unfortunately, a lot of folks aren't willing to put in the time necessary to learn. Your content is excellent. You can lead a horse to water, as they say...
Hello Daniel, I wouldnt take that to heart.your videos are extremely helpful and very informative.please keep up the good work as people like myself are extremely grateful!
just like to add even though It made me laugh, thanks to showing me how to search for specific things on your channel
Doing a good job Daniel keep it up
Loool 😂 Daniel this video made me laugh , I know you made this is to make people aware but that 1942 isn't a red and not even a red brown not even a ms and I am a real recent collector lol
This problem happens in every community that has a grading option
Sports cards ,trading cards etc
People want graded prices for non graded items and it’s annoying.
You are one of the more trust worthy people on coin social media.
Nice job 👍👍👍
Keep up the good work, Daniel and greetings from the great state of Michigan
I’m so sorry, Daniel that you have to go through this sometimes with people sometimes they don’t do the right thing
Thanks but I am in Ohio and I've never been to a ranch in my life. lol
That wheat cent of his is only worth .3 cents because of the worn condition, l understand what you're saying and love all your videos as well 👌✅
Always remember, you can lead a horse to water.....
I've seen a video saying a "rare" 1978 quarter worth 1.2 million. Also other dates. Who's this person doing these? Where do they get the info? Daniel great work.
Come on Daniel! I think he has really found the only 1942-D with NO mint mark!
Amazing story. You're too nice. I would have dismissed the person right away and told them to seek a local coin shop. My goodness!
Your good Daniel don't change. I learn alot
Moral of the story is that I tough it out in coin shops no matter the morale!
4:50 you will give me 16 minutes....and you will like it...😂😂😂
LOL
Omg I know it's a common Lincoln cent every time I get wheat cents from bank boxes and find lots of 40s and fifty's Lincoln cents all of mine are brown unless it's a hard to find date value is very low. But I collect the wheat cents so I'm good with low value. I called the other day wanting to buy a bag of wheat cents if you still had some available. I think I might also want to start collecting the Indian head cents and the other cents coins. It's just something I like.
I got your message but we don't have any of those lots currently. We're short handed and working on preparing for the show this Saturday. Thanks!
@CoinHELPu it's cool I figured you all were busy. Thanks
Daniel you do a fantastic job with Numismatics, am an old fart ( 73) and I still am learning about coins.
Daniel, you do great work and explain everything really well, there is just to many idiots out there !
Many people hear but they don’t listen. We’ve devolved into a society that wants answers up front, without working for it.🤦♂️
They make great apps on your phone where you can just take a picture of any coin and it will show you the value in the history of that coin
Those apps give you false information and are owned by Japanese and Chinese developers who are not coin experts. Do not use them.
That isn't an option. I am committed to the truth and spreading that truth. Thanks
Not saying anything is saying that there coin is rare and special when it’s not, better to make someone upset and educate them
@ I can respect that.
Sorry to hear that, Daniel. There's always one of those type of people in a bunch, huh?
Yeah, theses are not customers, they're just trying to make a fast buck on a coin that's worth a few cents, and can't let it go.
@CoinHELPu I find it amazing that they really don't know anything about coins but will go at it with someone who does Daniel.
@@JTCT371 me too!
Good afternoon, Daniel. Quick question: SMS-68 vs PR69, which one is better? Thanks.
Hi Daniel, did you see film Idiocracy from 2006? Many pepople live without brain))) They need only short and simle answers to their questions. Your videos are very hard to digest for them))))
Yes, I've seen it, it's sad that it seems to be reality.
@@CoinHELPu nobody wants to study, everybody wants easy money only. It's sad
I tried to get of hold to you to no avail, I will try again I also had no power no light everything went out.
People like that not interested in coins, they're looking for a lot of cash from someone for what is essentially pocket change.
I didn't know anything much until I watched your vids. I trust you is the main thing for me.
Very kind of you to help others with their numismatic questions. Take Care
A boomer teaching people how to use the internet, amazing. In all seriousness I love your work though, keep it up man!
This isn't and never is about the generation the person is from, all generations have their pros and cons, but that's just how people are non exclusive of their age.
I feel you man I was just kidding around. I much appreciate your content and find it very informative.
I dont mind the grumpy ! The videos more than make up for that !
Welcome to the world of retail. Sorry of your experiences. You could have pointed out the key word "graded".
We have all of that, it's all over my website.
We appreciate you Daniel. Water off a ducks back buddy.
So. This dude tried out for a basketball team and didn’t make it. Now everyone else sucks instead of him. Don’t worry, you’re great.
