I had a friend who is a mechanic do a pressure test and he said its the water pump I just dont want to buy parts like I have had to in the past and its not it or it was but now its something else..thank you for your time ❤❤
My jeep compass is leaking antifreeze and thanks for you video and found it your video is helpful , I new in your channel and I will follow more videos to learn more about it thank you very much
That is really really awesome. Unfortunately, at this time you’re gonna be disappointed.. we’re going through a crisis with our son and I will return to making automotive repair videos but right now for the past 50 so much days his story has taken over the channel. I will be changing it pretty soon I’m very sorry there is exceptional automotive con tent here about 960 videos of it. Just in case you’re wondering why we’re doing stuff about him when it’s supposed to be a Auto Repair Channel
I could see a puddle in that ecat same location so I figured I would do a search on TH-cam... This video helped. Thank you so plus the extra tip in there. I have some lights coming on as well so Ill check that as well.
I have a Compass. 2007. Started smelling coolant inside the cabin. Put UV dye in the system. Saw it leaking out of the AC drain tube... So I suspected heater core. Well... Ripped out the core and no evidence of leaking. I also had coolant leaking from the area of this housing. Have one on order now, but the AC drain tube leak is a mystery to me.
Well hello neighbor….. i’ve never been to Comish But I have been up to the UP several times and I enjoy going up there during the winter snowmobiling welcome to the Channell we’re very happy to have you and thank you so much for the kind words
I know how to say you’re welcome in Spanish but for some reason don’t know how to spell it LOL. Anyways you’re very welcome I’m glad send me this comment I very much appreciate it.
I have leak coming from under the bottom drain knob or whatever it is called were you drain out the antifreeze and this Is the second time now that I have had water issues the other one was jeep cherokee its been a nightmare with these last 2 jeeps...my cj7 was great any advice would be much appreciated We are without a vehicle and we need to have it done thanks 🙏💕👍
Hey Clay. Thanks for the video. I think I need to do this on my 2015 Patriot 2.4. What kind of coolant can I add for the time being? Trying to get through wintwr here in Eastern Montana. Thanks a bunch.
I have a question, I have a jeep compass 2wd 2.0L 2012, and I want to know if this model comes with the intake manifold runner valve, because my car doesn't have it, but it has the 3 holes for the location of the bolts, almost as if it were missing the intake manifold valve. I am also missing the cable that should ideally connect to it. Maybe this model of car does not come with it but I am not sure, can anyone help me please 🙏
Hey clay, @3:47 I noticed a small o-ring inside the bag with the thermostat you showed. I'm curious as to where the small o-ring fits onto? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you sir!
I’m sorry I really honestly don’t remember if I didn’t mention it in the video it’s probably not super pertinent would be my guess I generally do not forget very important things but when you’re making these videos you have so much going on it is possible to forget things but I doubt it in the situation
@@sharpcarco Thanks for the reply. I totally understand. I'm thinking the o-ring is for the sensor. I replaced my thermostat housing seven months ago with the help of this video. However, the kit I ordered did not come with the o-ring that goes around the water inlet. Not did it come with the small o-ring. Now I noticed it is leaking again and I can't seem to find either o-ring without buying a brand new housing.
@@sharpcarco I believe I found it. But advance Auto has to order it. That's the only place I could find it. Dealer didn't even have it. Didn't think about a hardware store. Thanks for that. I'll have to check that out. It's just a wide large o-ring. Advance is charging $20 for it 😑. I tried one that wasn't as wide that I got from O'Reilly's, but it didn't work. Coolant was pouring out.
@@sharpcarco Well I put the o-ring on that I got from advance part #4884873AA and it's still leaking! 😡 The ring looks maybe a tad bit thinner, can't believe I'm having so many problems over a simple o-ring!
I think I got the wrong o-ring for my 2014 Jeep Patriot on that water inlet. Does anyone know the part number or have a link to where I can get it? I replaced the thermostats and gaskets a couple of weeks ago and now have a leak coming from the o-ring water inlet. I think the o-ring is the wrong one
Why is it that I have to change the 2 hoses upper and lower for a 2007 Jeep compass sports 2.4 I went on Amazon and ordered the housing and it's telling me I have to have 2009 Jeep compass sports hose for 2007 why is that any thoughts will be appreciated
If I didn’t do it in the video and show you know you have to clean the surfaces if it has a gasket that goes on there it does not need RTV will just make it leak
Well I would absolutely love to tell you what could be causing that other than the obvious thermostat radiator poor air movement through the radiator but there’s a lot of different things that could be even a blown head gasket sorry wish I could be of more help
My coolant reservoir keeps emptying on and found some White spots on top and front of my radiator I replace the cap and my reservoir keeps empty do I have any idea where the problem come from
Well I don’t know what type of car you’re working on because when I look at the messages it just shows me a tiny thumbnail so I can’t really see what video you watched but unfortunately the news is probably not very good it sounds like you have a blown head gasket. Obviously I hope I’m mistaken but that is a certain possibility especially if you’ve already done the thermostat. Like I said you should get a second opinion From somebody who can visually inspect the vehicle God bless I hope I’m mistaken
Well I’m surprised to hear that but that’s not the first time I’ve heard it I can only say from my 20 years of experience that I’ve had a lot of luck with their parts they don’t pay me to endorse them and I made videos about crappy products before as far as I’m concerned they’re pretty good I’ve never had a problem with them.
Ha ha boy when people read this..... I’m not gonna throw shade on you. you were obviously extremely ignorant. But in the situation I refuse to have a battle of intelligence with an unarmed man or woman I’m not certain of which I am speaking with Given your reaction whatever it is after you read this message it will be determined if you are either stupid or just ignorant we certainly already know the answer to the ladder ....... Automobile manufacturers in this great scheme of making profits and creating vehicles to sell will often create the exact same vehicle with different sheet metal on the outside sheet metal is considered fenders doors hoods engines etc. etc. yet underneath the vehicle it will be exactly identical even have the same wiring possibly the same window switches and even the same shifter most often they will have the exact same engine and transmission along with different other models this is where the profits come in when they can create seven different types of vehicle but only used one to two different types Drive lines they can make more money..... That is the part that you’re ignorant about and it shows have a great day God bless

Dude you helped me a lot, my issue was the one in the 2:44 min. The gaskes seems to be broken. Thanks!
Well if it’s broken you should replace it even if you’re not sure
This video is just what I needed, thank you so much

Well use yellow coolant because it Works with all different types of coolants it is universal
My Jeep Compass coolant is PINK, What do I do?

Do u have to put any rtv sealer or anything on the thermostat
If I didn’t do it in the video and show you know you have to clean the surfaces if it has a gasket that goes on there it does not need RTV will just make it leak
you cant just replace the gasket?

Actually, the factory coolant is embittered to dissuade animals. It is not sweet tasting.
I seen yours actually has the same size nipples to the heater core and mine has bigger ones so the heater hose don’t fit
I REALLY HEAR ALLOT OF CRAP ABOUT DOORMAN!?
