Two great Robert Redford movies involving spies and government agencies are 3 Days of the Condor, and Spy Game. A lighthearted romp of a movie is The Sting. Robert Redford, Paul Newman, and Robert Shaw. Directed by George Roy Hill who also directed Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. All these are excellent movies.
Sneakers is one of the great 90's underrated films. Some other 90's films to check out 1) Sleeping with the Enemy 2) The Shadow 3) The Paper 4) City Slickers 5) The Cutting Edge
Reminds me of Hackers, a film out around the same time that had a lot of tech talk which was top notch at the time, but 30 years later it's antiquated.
Actually, while the tech they use is outdated, the methods such as social engineering and manipulating their targets is still very much used. I train staff about cybersecurity safety and refer to the scene where they break in using the birthday cake. That is the low-tech methods people use.
ALL RIGHT, I've always LOVED this one!🥰Always a FUN watch with a Great Ensemble-Cast, Surprises and Suspense!👍I can't wait to see what Both-of-Y'all thought about this...👋😄👌
Check out Sydney Poitier in: 1. LILIES OF THE FIELD ( Oscar winner!! Sweet movie!!) 2. Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner?!(Classic!! Sydney and two legends Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy)
Loved the reaction. I eatched this when it first came out and really enjoyed it. In my opinion, its one of those gems thst so few people know about. Such a shame.
33:01 My favorite continuity error ever as dude ejects a live shell for no apparent reason other than the re-rack sounds awesome. My man, you might need that shell later…
Good sneaky espionage movies (best first): "Ronin" (1998) "The Peacemaker" (1997) "La Femme Nikita" (1990 original) "The Eiger Sanction" (1975) "R.E.D." (2010) "The November Man" (2014) "Jack Reacher" (2012) "Shining Through" (1992) "Survivor" (2015) "No Way Out" (1987) "Three Days of the Condor" (1975) "The Day of the Jackal" (1973) "The Manchurian Candidate" (1962)
It's also often used to simplify a complex system down to its inputs and outputs. A pocket calculator could be a black box that accepts number and operator inputs and outputs the answers to math problems. Another black box could be an autopilot that takes in flight data and outputs control movements. In the movie, the black box accepts encrypted data and outputs unencrypted data. The main feature is that, whatever mind-bogglingly complicated processing is happening, it all fits into a "box" that you can "simply" feed inputs to and it will output sensible responses.
Great movie awesome cast ... The little trolling at the end was a bit much IMHO but overall fun. Thanks guys. And i got my usual jump scare from Toni ❤
This is one of those movies that regardless of the antiquated hardware and software, it still comes down to the human behind the monitor. I train people on cybersecurity and wish I had enough time to have people watch this movie just so they can see the way the team manipulates people-NOT technology. Because that is what it comes down to. Doesn’t matter how expensive and elaborate the tech you have. If you give the keys to someone, nothing fucking matters. (Can’t say that at work, sadly…)
Recommending 2 movies, Toni you Will love these movies. The Simple Life Of Noah Dearborn starring Sidney Poitier, Mary Louise Parker and Dianne Wiest the other is 1994 Nobody's Fool with Paul Newman, Bruce Willis, Melanie Griffith and Jessica Tandy this movie is Jessica's last film. Both movies are hidden gems.
I grew up on this movie! Every day during summers off from school, my older brother would play this movie. Underrated is an understatement.
You must have watched it alot of times.... it was great!! -Toni 🤓

This is a great movie that I have always been shocked has kind of disappeared. The story was a prediction of the future.
All star cast, good storyline. Great humor. Whats not to love.
The "emergency pull tab thing" in the trunk wasn't around until the mid-2000's
A great movie for Toni!!
No tears , no fears and no jump scares!!
Glad you enjoyed it!!

R.I.P. River Phoenix!!!
Sneakers is criminally underrated.
Espionage comedies:
"Johnny English" (2003)
"Central Intelligence" (2016)
"Keeping Up With The Joneses" (2016)
"Killers" (2010)
Great film, love the cast & script. Helped bring pentesting (red teaming) into the everyday for those who didn't already know about it.

I’m glad you guys are watching this, one of my favorites… Ba A beacon… McFarland USA next?
Excellent flick. Wow, Toni has a real maniacal laugh at times.
"Black box" is a phrase talking about a contained unit. It doesn't have to be black - such units in aircraft are often bright orange.
The Elephant Man(1980) as the next movie. Wont regret viewing it.
