    Headset Advisor is great. Have been working with you all for 30 years. Your customer service is the standard by which I judge all others. Period. Full stop. Not just on headsets. No, I didn't get any compensation for this comment. I just know these folks and they are tops! You rock! Sounds like I need to look into this amazing headset.

      Thank you for the kind words! We appreciate you sticking with us. It's a headset worth considering but just like any headset, there's not a one size fits all solution. It's fun creating these videos because we can get the product information out there, but when questions come up, this headset may or may not be the right fit for you. That's when we can advise and point customers in the right direction to get a headset best for them.

    Fantastic review , I only wish you leveled volume between external mic & Bose in post production to make the comparison better. Thanks again .
    Btw if you still have this unit maybe do an advanced review as there is not much content on TH-cam on the UC model . Would love to see how it works with Teams

      Hi Schatze, unfortunately there's no way we're aware of to make the voice quality any better A heaset that uses a mic boom will alows give a better voice quality then one without. For example, you can see the Bose 700 UC vs the Tilde Pro here th-cam.com/video/G2rUFtE2WHI/w-d-xo.html

    How is your experience when it come to Teams or Zoom calls ? I have heard issues with Sony 1000MX4 but not sure about Bose 700 UC. Since it has UC written i hope it works better but it doesnt seems to be teams certified so bit curious.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This headset was designed for using it on apps like Teams and Zoom, so it will work well with both apps. The Bose 700 UC will be better than the Sonys for business needs. headsetadvisor.com/products/bose-700-uc-wireless-headphones-with-anc?_pos=1&_sid=526015b64&_ss=r

    Unless they are selling different Headphones with the UC package than the regular 700's, these headphones should have 8 mics in total. 6 for ANC & 4 for Voice pickup (2 are shared with ANC). The Canadian Bose website lists the specs for the 700 UC headphones same as the regular 700's. Please let me know since i am looking to purchase them and need to know if its better to go with the UC package. Please note that my work laptop (Dell XPS 9500) has Bluetooth and does having a dongle (+10$) add any extra features/functionality?

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paresh, you're exactly right and that was our mistake. The Bose 700 has identical features to the Bose 700 UC with 8 mics. The main difference is the USB dongle that comes with the Bose 700 UC. The dongle is extremely important if you're using say Microsoft teams on your computer and music/calls with your cell phone. It makes the experience seamless. Also, yes you can get the USB Bluetooth adapter separate at this link headsetadvisor.com/products/bose-usb-link-bluetooth-adapter?_pos=1&_sid=7d997b0eb&_ss=r

    Just bought the dongle instead of a new PC headset. Question: I prefer to keep my original 700s paired to my phone so that, when I turn them on, they connect to it immediately. Would there be an issue if I plug the dongle into my PC while it's connected to my phone via Bluetooth? I would prefer it to be paired with one or the other at specific times.

    Is this headset has a wired option to connect to a USB /computer for Zoom meetings? Can you use a 3.5 mm cable to connect to USB/computer for Zoom Meeting? Also, can you charge the headphone with the connection of the USB to the computer and at the same time do the Zoom Meeting?

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Bose 700 UC can't be used as a wired headset unfortunately. You may want to consider the Tilde Pro instead. You can see a video comparison here th-cam.com/video/G2rUFtE2WHI/w-d-xo.html

    What is the sidetone on the Bose 700 like? Can you hear yourself while on calls? Also, almost 2 years later, do you still recommend these?

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bose doesn't offer sidetone, which is a great point we missed, and they discontinued the UC version. For personal use Bose 700 are awesome, but if your main use is for calls/meetings probably not the best to go with. A comparable model we're seeing many clients go with instead is here headsetadvisor.com/products/orosound-tilde-pro-bluetooth-noisecancelling-headset?_pos=1&_psq=tilde+pro&_ss=e&_v=1.0&variant=40450096857246

    I still don't understand the purpose of the UC bluetooth dongle, if I'm using a new MacBook with bluetooth do I need to spend the extra money for this UC adapter? Does it improve call quality for people on the other end?

    • @MattMitchell1
      @MattMitchell1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I should also add that I don't use any of the communication apps that this is optimized for.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Matt, the USB dongle is going to give you an overall experience when switching between computer and mobile phone. You'll get improved mic quality, wireless range and connectivity. For certain apps like MS Teams, you'll get added capabilities like answering/end calls from the headset when away from the desk.
      Bluetooth on computers is sometimes limited. Meaning, say you want to use a headset on your computer then switch to the cell phone via Bluetooth. In many cases, you have to unpair the headset from the computer, then connect via Bluetooth to your cell phone.
      Other times customers experience audio connectivity issues and little to no wireless range when connecting Bluetooth direct to a computer. This is just one example of what happens when you don't use the USB dongle. Overall you'll have a much better user experience.
      I know this was a lot of words! I hope that helped, and feel free to reply if I can explain anything better.

    • @SETHtubin
      @SETHtubin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like being able to have the Bluetooth on my computer off, so that my various Bluetooth devices don't try to connect when I power them on, and still have my headphones connected to my computer via the USB adapter. Also, there are little conveniences like the music on my computer pausing when I answer a call on my mobile phone. Of course, then are inconveniences like a music app beginning to play after a phone call when I wasn't listening to music prior.🤷🏽‍♂

    A question about utilizing those for conf-calls: is the mute-function working within calls (MS Teams, Skype, etc)?
    It's nice to be able to pick up/ hang up, but no-where i find a clear statement about mute - and it's a clear must! And unfortunately the Bose manual is not helpfull at all.

      Hi Alexander, great question. There should be no reason you can't mute/unmute from the headset. This is from Bose "While on a call, press and release the Voice Assistant button to mute the microphone." Let us know if you have any further questions :)

      @@HeadsetAdvisor Just some feedback after testing them for some time - mute/ unmute works, also in Teams (taping and holding on the right earcup, also indicated via light change on the dongle). All Soft- and FIrmware needs to be updated prior, thats a lesson learned.
      However, what is not working at the moment is the functionality of taking and ending a call in MS Teams. Im trying to get some information from Bose, but they aren't really into discussing this topic.. I agree it's an investment but well worth it if you want a premium headset that's optimized to connect with mobile phone and computer for calls/music. If you're looking for an entry/mid level headset, this wouldn't be for you. There's other options to consider in the entry/mid level we would recommend instead.
