Just a tip, according to instructions on Rit Dye's Website, they say it needs to soak on the stove in a pot of almost boiling water for 30-60 mins. That way the water stays around 200 degrees the entire time. That may be why your dress had a hard time taking the dye, since you just had it in a bucket and only added hot water to it. Hope that helps for the future!
Thank you for the tip :) The dress had too much material for the largest pot I had on hand. Since it was a costume, and trying to stay on budget, I didn't buy a new pot.
