      If you are still in PV you may want to check the Yelapa Beach, which is like 15 mins away from Boca de Tomatlán by water taxi. To me it is the perfect beach. In pre-pandemia days, gay night life in PV was something that I really enjoyed. I do not know now. If you plan to stay around PV for some more days, I would recommend you visit the village of Sayulita, for some boho hippie trendy vibe. It's a bit touristy to my taste, but it is still a cool place to visit. Great video. Congrats!

    Glad you enjoyed PV! Next time try the 10 minute trip to Pitillal. PV and Pitillal were 2 separate cities but now they have merged so you don't know where one ends and the other begins. Pitillal is a traditional Mexican city which is kind of where the workers for Puerto Vallarta live. We live inbetween and the tourist vibe is fun to feel occasionally but not all the time.

    Wow, you two figured it out. I went up there...Never saw that sign, but my Uber driver pointed me towards the right-side of the rio and I started there...walked for about 15 minutes, and started swimming. I never saw a waterfall, due to being by myself and not seeing a clear cut pathway. I had fun splashing around in the water because it was so hot!! That was exactly one year ago. Next time I won't go by myself and actually see the waterfalls. Yes, BUG SPRAY!!
    Mirador de la cruz is a WORK OUT!! I went in the middle of the day, not a bright choice, with no water. But the view is so worth it. Glad you two went to see the sunset, stunning!!
    The hikes and beaches...WOW. Thanks for highlighting that. Must go next time I'm in PV. Love your vlogs!

      @@TravelWTravis Also, 120 KM north of Vallarta is San Blas. A beautifulish town I spent much of my youth in. It has amazing history (the main port for the Spanish invaders). It is not a tourist place, except in the winter months when birders come on flocks to see the wonderful jungle pajaros that exist in the jungle. You will see tigres, cocodrilos y serpientes. This is Huichol country! You will see real jungle on the boat ride up to La Tovarra...you should check it out. The Hotel Los Flamingos is, I have heard very luxurious for a small town.
      Buena suerte!

    • @TravelWTravis
      @TravelWTravis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Interesting question! In a way, there’s a lot less pressure to conform and meet certain standards - life feels very relaxed in a way it never was for us in the States. Our day to day (when we’re not filming stuff) looks pretty similar though: most of our work is in front of computer screens, so we’re either working at home (or wherever we’re staying), and if you only saw that, we could be in any city in the States. So yeah - it’s both incredibly different and exactly the same (but better?) if that makes sense?

      Haha, no we didn't include that - our bad! We took a water taxi (for 60 pesos each) back to Boca, and then grabbed the bus back from there (which was 10 pesos each). Way less expensive than the private boat and really easy to figure out. We put all the info up on our blog if you're looking for more details though ➡️ bit.ly/HikingInPV

    You kept mentioning the heat, curious to know which you feel is hotter, Merida or PV? Also, I heard that PV has some nice art galleries, were you able to visit any? And last, you mentioned you hiked about 4hrs to get to the last beach, did you have to hike 4hrs back? Yikes!

    • @TravelWTravis

      Tough to say which is hotter - they’re both scorchers, but Merida probably wins as it’s not right on the water. We didn’t get to any art galleries (although we did see some!) and no, we took a water taxi and then a bus back - about 30 mins! Much quicker 🙃

      haha - way better than the gym! The hikes were pretty challenging - definitely need to be able to climb over/under things and up/down mountains but the views/water were soooo worth it!
      For our normal fitness routine, we actually work out with a personal trainer we found on TH-cam (th-cam.com/users/SydneyCummings) who we LOVE and kicks our butts every day (when we're not hiking all over PV). And the weather was in the 90s, but huuuumid because it's the rainy season 🤦‍♂️

    A few months back, I modified my diet to plant-based / vegan. However, I am finding that the plant-based meats are loaded with salt. Have you found an alternative?

    • @TravelWTravis
      @TravelWTravis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We love jackfruit, which is a great alternative to the Beyond and Impossible burgers, and just as tasty. But you're right - a lot of the processed vegan stuff can have a bunch of unnecessary sodium and other junk, which is why we try to eat as much whole foods as possible!
