You should play tulsa. Its a coal ship which you havent featured yet and it would help especially new players. Give baby des moines some love ;)
It's just meh at best. Not bad though, but also not something that's gonna blow your mind
its pretty eh in randoms but if you dont have kronstadt or Alaska its a super good alternative for Clan/Ranked battles.
Personally i had more wins with Tulsa in Ranked thank i have Alaska.
Love my tulsa....a Diet DM plays really well at t9 in divisions or CB, in randoms i use it to commit BB's into corners as bait or drive DD's out of flanks

Extra heavy Ap is mandatory for El-Bonk ( 2 point skill, get 7.5% extra dpm)
In my experience playing this, I feel like you aimed too much at superstructures instead of the hull. If you aim for hull and their decently close you can get consistent 5k+ salvos, since the pen is so good. Also against something like a venezia aiming for cit would have been perfect.
This. Forget the superstructure. Belt, bow or stern is the way to go.
Elbing is insanely accurate with her AP, so yeah he does need to aim for the upper belt to get full pens to farm that damage.
he just flat out plays ships so badly when he doesn't like them. he has a totally different play style than with ships he likes. this DD is an AP monster, but you still need to change to the HE at times and he never does. and he so focused on changing ammo types in the ships he does like, so why he does this is just weird.
His BB main is showing. He still doesn't understand what this ship can do.

With 190mm of AP pen on the main guns you should be aiming for upper belts instead of super structures.
You can't just provide an AP pen value without range. It's 190 mm at 12 km.
And 149mm at 16km. Most targets he was shooting at in this video were well within 16km. Yes pen values change depending on range. But he questioned why he isn't getting damage, and the answer is he's hitting the wrong spot. Elbing is one of the most accurate ships in the game, it's not hard to locate your shells where you want them @@wombat4191
id love to see another video on hector. there is soo few videos on it on YT, it got buffed months ago and i havent seen a single video on it since the changes. i love the crawling smoke on vampire & perth so i’d love to see another video on hector.
The ships good, but it's not Perth. The 12km quick reload torps are almost the primary weapon.
The crawling smoke is cool. Don't open water BBs if you can help it and bow into crusiers.
It's not good at killing DDs due to very floaty shells.
I'd describe it as closer to Pan Asian cruisers than British. Almost like a Colbert that swaps dpm and speed for torps and smoke.
I like it, but it takes patience to play well and you need to be able to aim torps to get the most out of it.
I would love to see the atlanta next and how that attacks up in the current state of the game.

I had sound buggs when I had sherman in arms race with halsey confederate😂 and i had rangemod slotted even so it could've been more lol

Seems a bit overkill. I prefer DPM over range on every ship (except DM and Zao). Range mod build is always super boring and has far less game impact.
Like those braindead kiting, 20km range build Nevsky players that effectively take a radar away from their team, to farm their dmg.
@@anidiot2818 nope, just the mod, as I run the captain on multiple dd's, and the other ones dont need the extra range with their floaty shells. Sherman has higher velocity shells so I fond that it gets use out of a little more range :)

Play the Grozovoi. It will probably be my first T10 and it it often comes up in the "powercrept" list of DD's :)

I run it for CB does very well
Groz gets less consumables by default, it's big and the guns are super fragile. Other than that she's really good.
TLDR; Elbing is a high skill ceiling assassin specialist designed to remove CLs from the game, ruin CA's, and DPM BBs with the most accurate guns in the game using some of the best AP.
BLUF; Pick your fights and force a crossfire between your DPM and your team's battleships
Elbing, like every KMS ship, is a specialist. It's role is unpopular in that its a DD/CA hybrid. If you play it like a Hindenburg with 6.4km detect and 40kt top speed you'll find alot more enjoyable balance of gameplay. I personally run concealment over Fearless brawler (as smoke will negate the brawler's dpm increase regardless), but I also run the Unique Upgrade and Speed Boost Mod in slot 2 for 3+ mins of 45kts top speed on engine boost.
The way I found Elbing to be the funniest ship in the game is to fly around the map, snag caps where you can but focus on being an assassin/force of nature out on a flank to force crossfire. Shred cruisers, and DPM down battleships. Aim for upper belts or bow/stern armor. As you found out in the video, super structure shots will net a lot of over pens. Elbing has DM pen angles so smack extremities until completely bow in, then hit the SS for continued full damage.
As for DD fights, you'll have to play smart. Force them to angle with HE/AP mix-ups, knock out turret and torps. If they angle your AP will full pen, if they go stern in, fire AP along their rear super structure/turrets. You'll still get full pens for ~2-5k dmg and knock out turrets to make it massively in your favor. The worst scenario is that they stay broadside on but your HE DPM is still decent and the massive health pool/25mm plating still puts you on a decent advantage.
I'm personally not a fan of the "find a spot, camp smoke and farm" gameplay as I have a dozen other ships for that playstyle. But Elbing provides the perfect cross between speed and devastating firepower that commands respect and can dominate any match if played smart

4:55 This is the problem with the Elbing. I always kind of love/hate to see it on the enemy team. It's a good chance your team wins because the enemy team are down a DD (role-wise), but actually dealing with the elbing is always frustrating as well. So much health, the AP just does so much damage if it surprises you. So many times, team wins, Elbing player on the other side finally says "F it", jumps you, you die, he dies, your team wins.

It may have bad concealment and maneuverability, but it's slow.
when you play the ships you like you have a different playstyle. you are much better at changing ammo types versus the ships you don't like you just forget about everything.
Can you play what you consider the worst ship in the game? Not as in tier 1 but the least effective ship as balanced against its tier. The kind of ship that needs a skilled player behind the controls to not suffer horribly against any opponent it is likely to face.
How about Shikishima? Would like to know how she compares to Satsuma. Is she even worth it anymore?

*You are dead in 40 seconds because that's balanced* - Ohio proceed to eat full salvo, 20k dmg. If you would stop spreading BS about subs and play them for a while or at least WATCH what's actually going on.
So here is my request: Play sub, other than Gato (which plays more like torp DD than the sub and it's only sub that is actually working, sadly).
What about the Kongo? She's still a beast at tier 5 and I love playing her every now and then.

I would love to see the Kleber with the legendary mod. It seems crazy to nerf the power of the Kleber, but an ambush torpedo boat is never expected.

I ll never get that thing. Not only is it complete niche and requires good matchmaking and the right situations for it to appear but also this line is complete garbage. Both T7 & T8 are big contesters for the title worst ship in the game.

Again, not really. You just have to engineer a situation where you can get a cruiser broadside, and SMASH it with AP, every bit as devastating as torps. Try it. Patience and planning.
I always get very high damage vollies with the Elbing. I actually find it hits dds consistently harder than my Italian SAP monster. And then if you get any broadside cruisers or BBS, its 4-5k damage every volly.
Yeah people don’t get how devastating elbing is against your average dd player. Most dd players will start kiting when engaging another dd, and kiting means they start to angle, and an elbing can consistently get 6-7k salvos on angled dds. Absolute monster
elbing is an absolute broadside assassin. I usually run with rudder 2 instead of conceal and take conceal in the commander skills. and you 1000% need extra heavy ap. Its best in a division with some stealthy little torpboat like a shima.
I prefer Elbing over the F. Sherman. Better accuracy and seems more unique than that generic HE spam.
With Sherman, use the SAP, except on nose in or kiting bbs.

I'm debating on whether to get the Neustrashimy or the Gronigan from the armory. I would lvoe to see a video on the Neustrashimy since there are alot of Gronigan/Friesland vids but very little Neustrashimy vids.
Neustra is more versatile, Groeningen is really gunboating and anti-dd. Depends on what you like more

Honestly wish this was a Tier 5 or 6 Light Cruiser instead of a Tier 10 destroyer. It doesn't even have the Recon Plane it was designed to carry historically. This ship is technically the Spaehkreuzer 1938/1939/1940. Basically a VERY light Cruiser meant to defend the fleet against destroyers and act as a recon vessel for fleet operations.
You got pretty unlucky imo, usually in my games I get a lot of cruisers and the cits never stop coming and not even that close, just around 13-14km is enough on some cruisers

You aimed like you were a vampire , to high, elbing shines in exceptional pen & accuracy where you can chunk the hull , bow & stern
With no intention to suggest I know better than you do, or that I'm in any way a better player, but after nearly 1,000 games in Elbing, I feel more comfortable with slightly different commander skills. Instead, I drop the 5 percent reload, add 10 percent concealment and + 7.5 percent extra heavy AP. I only mention it, suspect source that I am, because it's my most played ship, and my own results have eventually brought me here. Also... Nobody who has Hindenburg and/or Schlieffen would ever put Lutjens on their Elbing. Only unicums or community contributors with unlimited commander movement. Your extreme min-maxing is noted, as a window into the darkness that is your true soul. Anything for an edge.
The big thing I don't like about the Elbing is that, for whatever reason, the entire line up to it has a more-or less even distribution of the guns along the hull (even the Schultz which has the same 150mm dual-turrets), EXCEPT for it, which moves the majority of firepower to the aft of the ship. WHY!?
They made it a giant DD that's supposed to push in and bully other DDs with its armor and larger HP pool, but configured it like a Nurnberg that's supposed to always run away and kite.. I'm not saying the Schultz is much better, mind you, since the 2nd turret is in the middle so you still have to angle a bit to fire it, but at least it's not as bad as this thing.
I came back to the game after 5 years away, subs arent too bad, I just turn an kite em out which seems to work depeding on crossfires.. CV's are just game ruining cancer. Anyone playing cvs to tier 10 is a turd. Im done with wows for good unless I hear they removed cvs. Zero enjoyability playing anything but dd's from tier 4 on up. Since when btw did they give douchebag cv's AA and armor of the gods?? They need that sitting in the back of the map in safety 90% of each match????? Glad WG didnt get any more of my money than they already have.

@patato quality I think Elbing deserves little more love, it’s realy stong but against a dd (gunboats) you will lose its basically only effective against cruisers and bb’s
Elbing is a blast to play in Asymmetric battle mode.....random, not so much. It will trash cruisers and bb's but can't fight a dd for crap. That's very odd.
I think everyone expects elbing to be played brilliantly as flamu.... def not this though.

Every match has no cruisers or CV... the only thing the ship is ok at.
For the elbing i recommend the AP gun damage upgrade and gun focus build.
Elbing is great at ambushing cruisers. And flanking.
DFAA does not do jack on a ship with already bad AA. Additionally, torpedo bombers almost always have a repair consumable.
You get those cits, just play it more often like a light cruiser. Only the smart DD's give you thier side over angling ships like stalin, hindy and venizia are the ones to avoid unless you get cheap shots. I think we shuold keep up voting this one.
The benefit? It's a good light cruiser without a citadel. But, yeah. Tough ship.

Fenyang... it has been buffed with some nasty AP back in the day so you can suffer some more with AP focused dd's
I like Fenyang, but it's heavily reliant on DDs not going bow in and really struggles to deal with cruisers.

How does he get the enemy ship health bars so big with the HP in the health bar. Took a break from the game and they changed the settings menu since then and idk how to do it now.

Урона мало, потому что надо не в надстройки бить, а выше цитадели и по оконечностям! И эсминцам под ватерлинию, а то одни сквозняки будут. Ну и перк на ББ урон у кэпа надо брать. Ну и конечно же не забывать про фугасы - они у Эльбинга тоже очень мощные, плюс пожары.
