I tell them I charge: $200.00 per man-hour. And if that triggers you, then get out of my face. Because otherwise, people will just use you. And they’ll expect you to work for free. And then you won’t make any money because you’re going along to get along. And if you let one customer take advantage of you, then they’ll tell their friends. And then their friends will try and take advantage of you. I draw the line in the sand upfront. And set the tone in my voice.
That’s my logic…knowing your numbers and being able to throw them out there during the qualifying stage can save a lot of time…. Her: I’d like a koi pond Me: those start around $2400.. You will find out real quick what her pockets are like..😂🤣😂🤣
Trifecta! This year our phrase is “I’m Happy to help” 1. Communication 2. Show up to do the work 3. Quality work (you feel like you did a great job, you WILL feel it when you do a sloppy job) 100k plus per year Formula🤔
Where I am in Ohio, our local market supports mulch at $110 per yards plus tax. I get roughly half the jobs I bid, so I'd say that's about right for my market.
Thanks Keith, wise tips. Ive been guilty of not bringing an attitude of service to my clients. Especially given I hqve grown the business 4- fold. It does come back to that, to win the trust of new clients.
Listing prices on your website I can see customers liking . The drawback for me is your competition can also see what you charge. Can that come back and bite you?
@@regulardude2011 I totally understand … I think it really starts to hit home when you watch companies buying miniskids and trucks…and you realize your math says you will never make that purchase….,.. out of that $500 did you have to buy any supplies or pay anyone?
Spend more time on the tools less time thinking, overthinking the gardening industry leaves you with empty words and promises, I don’t bother talking to much on quotes or on the phone and get out there five minutes have a look and quote. I let my quality of work do the talking, and no I’m never out of work, never advertise, never use service based apps, nothing. If I was a sales talker id sell product for a much higher income with commissions, but I can’t so I trim stuff.
I did 20k this month. Thank you for your videos. It was great speaking to you in the phone.
7 months later and this is still a timeless, valuable video. Thank you for sharing!

Great advice. People respond great to it.
Great content reminds me of the positive attitude of JFK "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country"
I stay in Michigan also west Michigan but I wish we could get 150 per yard for mulch but in the area it’s anywhere from 70-85 tops
