    Hey I love this tutorial, so helpful thank you. I have a question, do you know how to place an image so that the text circles around it?

    Love your tutorial since there are no filler talks to increase duration!
    I am new to using after effects. Do you add after effects layers after finishing the entire video? or can you import premiere pro file to after effects?
    One quick improvement I suggest is adding cool intros for your videos! I'm sure you're good at using AE and PP so it'll be easy for you!

    • @COMPTHIS
      @COMPTHIS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the input. I do plan on making an intro at some point. :)
      I don't usually bring full PP projects into Ae. However, I do bring elements on my PP projects into Ae from time to time. I'll usually start by identifying the clips in my PP sequence/timeline that I want to bring into Ae, highlight them, duplicate them (in order to keep an "original" copy of your cuts, then right-click on the highlighted clips (excluding the duplicates), and select "Replace with After Effects Composition". Last but not least, bring those duplicates on an empty layer and hide them.
      This way, when you make changes in Ae, after you hit "save", the changes should appear inside of PP as well.
      Even with this workflow, I still sometimes use the old school method of exporting/importing my individual clips from both. Hope that helps! :)

    • @editorkoya
      @editorkoya 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@COMPTHIS oh that seems like a super cool method!
      I generally have some clips over on Pr and I'd add transitions and text in Ae so I simply copy the clips in Pr and while keeping both the programs open, paste them in Ae.
      But that obviously doesn't update the changes in Ae so I do have to render stuff out of Ae.

    great video! i'll definitely be trying this out sometime soon! quick question however; you talked about the paid plugins, but aren't you technically also able to achieve something similar to those effects without the paid versions? like, you could add a similar looking outer glow and separating the rgb channels is also possible right? it's not as quick and easy, but you don't fully need those paid plugins right? just curious! again, great video, thank you!

    • @COMPTHIS
      @COMPTHIS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely! There's always a way to do it without paying for extra plugin. At this point in my career, I balance that question with the time it would take to learn/implement that effect into my workflow. In this example (when I used it for work), it was cheaper for me to buy the plugin than it was to spend time figuring out the work around. I'm a strong believer in the philosophy that there are always multiple methods to achieve the same result. You just have to figure out what works best for you :)

    How to flip the text so it will look right when in front. Thanks

    • @COMPTHIS
      @COMPTHIS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not sure if I understand what you’re asking, but if you want it to rotate the other way you can add a minus sign in front of the number you’re keyframing in. 1x-359 for example.

    • @musicchu
      @musicchu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@COMPTHIS thanks for answering. I take a closer look. I was just staring at the back of rotating text and it is reversed. It makes sense. Thanks again.

    How could i get the words rotate 1 or 2 times around a sphere then fading out

    • @COMPTHIS
      @COMPTHIS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Multiply the number imputed into the keyframe by 2. You should be able to see the following: 0 x 0 (degrees). When you adjust it to "0 x 360" it will perform one rotation. When you adjust the first number it will create that many rotations. 1x360 = one rotation, 2x360 = two rotations, 3x360 = three....and so on and so forth. Not the best explanation but I hope it helps!

    • @daan7056
      @daan7056 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      adjust text size and overall settings. this is because the effect doesnt stretch the text to fit it nicely, you'll have full control over that yourself so just play around with the spacing, fonts and text size

    • @COMPTHIS
      @COMPTHIS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That might have to do with your font size and kerning. Try playing around with those two perimeters to close the gap. Otherwise, you can try adjusting the CC Cylinder perimeters. Hope that helps.

      It is because your text is out of your canvas bounds, try resizing the textbox so it fits perfectly inside your frame and then centre align it!
