Rossi had a honda the best rider on the best bike. He then switched to yamaha which was not so good and won on it. Other rally and f1 drivers do it and win championships. It proves the car is not the star.

phil driver doesn’t take anything away from Loeb, he is the most dominant rally driver of all time, and was apparently very quick when he tested with Toro Rosso (though the FIA wouldn’t grant him a super license so he never got to drive an F1 car in anger).
