Hi from Uruguay. Hope Mexico wakes up. Good critic and agree these friendlies are important since they're the only opportunity to test yourself prior to the beginning of Copa America.
It always happens to Mexico that they believe they are something they are not, they try to catch up with South American powers like Brazil, Argentina or Uruguay. and yet they are not even at the level of Bolivia. Then they have a reality shock when they face real powers.
These guys don’t know what they are talking about. Not counting Argentina, Brasil and Uruguay, the Mexican National team doesn’t have neither the level nor the players Ecuador currently has. Mexico is more in tune with perhaps Venezuela, Chile and Paraguay. Keep in mind, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay are a given to qualify for the World Cup, but so are Colombia and Ecuador. Before talking about greatness they should humble themselves to reality. Mexico hasn’t won a Copa America much less a World Cup. Whether Argentina, Brasil and/or Uruguay have seen the glory of winning both tournaments. These guys don’t play for the money when wearing their nation’s jerseys, they play for the love and the respect the glory of those jerseys deserve. Believe me, when Argentina, Brasil and Uruguay play, there are no friendly games.
Do you think Mexico is more on par with Chile, Ecuador and Venezuela? If you think so, then you’re delusional about El Tri because they’re not good at all. There are 2, maybe 3 teams in CONCACAF that are on par with those teams that you believe Mexico is on par with are really Costa Rica, Honduras and possibly Canada on a god day and the rest of CONCACAF is terrible. Let Chile play against Wales, Ecuador play against Austria or Paraguay play against Poland, those would be more evenly matched. It’s not just South America that’s tough to play, but many underestimate venues in Europe and they are pretty hostile environments as well and people don’t talk about that. Chile is really more on par with Wales, the same could be said with Ecuador and Austria or even Paraguay and Poland. The only nobodies in Europe are the national teams of the least populated countries and territories, but every other European country are also tough to play at. Europe and South America is a better comparison than South America and North America because Europe and South America have the better football than any other part of the world

I would agree. They used to play more, but not a single player in this crop has played a copa America game and none have played in Copa Libertadores. As Mexican, WE DO NOT WANT ANY FOREIGN AS a TECHNICAL DIRECTOR IN THE MEXICAN NATIONAL TEAM (at this time); Never LESS MARTINO or any ARGENTINE or similar. It's a lot better to play and learn more with Jimmy Lozano until the 2026 World Cup, no matter what. To have new advisors is OK. But, NOT to change the Mexican soccer team technical director. Aguirre is fine as a coach abroad... But he is Show-Man, SUPERB, rude, I do not like him. In the Mexican media where they tolerate him is a bad mouth, A BAD EXAMPLE of the behavior of younger Mexican followers... for Aguirre TO GO TO JAPAN, if it is true again... is ok!! FINE "Let him go". Let's respect and SUPPORT the Mexican actual coach, ... the negative results of 4-0 it is also the responsibility of de head directors ... it is a problem from the high management ... the LONG PANTS team, and the owners.
That attitude is why Mexico will not succeed. Even the USMNT needed a German coach to shake up the US soccer federation. He is the one who began to work hard to recruit dual nationals and encourage American players to leave their comfort zone and play in Europe. Mexico also needs someone like this.
It was nice to see everyone get what they wished for with new defensive players. No Ochoa, no Gallardo, no Sanchez. Absolutely, no depth behind Mexico’s regulars. Hercules said it best, this team lacks athleticism and physicality. Fans don’t realize how much of an athlete you have to be, just to compete and keep up, if your primary foot isn’t kissed by God.
Mexico is loosing its relevancy on the field … they need to come to terms with it, stop making excuses, cleanse themselves of ego and denial.. then restructure. For now don’t expect to much from them for a long while 🤔

@@nerychristian Mexico competes at the highest level at youth level even wining multiple tournaments 2 of which have been world cups. The issue is in Mexico and how the game is managed, either teams want too much money for there talent or players simply can’t get opportunities to play for there clubs, the liga MX is flooded with foreigners and it in turn affects how much talent is showcased. Liga MX has loads of money while the league in Argentina, Uruguay, chile, Colombia don’t , those leagues are poor and constantly sell talent at super young ages off to Europe for low price tags while Mexican teams want millions for there talent, so it goes to waste
“World class” talent and potential are two different things. Musiala Bellingham and Foden are world class talent, Endrick world class potential. Mexico does not have “world class” talent. Can’t comment on potential because I don’t watch Mexican youth teams

Another thing is this team plays with no fire or urgency. They were letting Uruguay have free releases, no bumping, grabbing, or chipping. At this level you cannot be nice there needs to be physical play and no free runs. The lack of pace on the Mexican side was appalling. Someone needs to tear Jimmy a new one and if he can't motivate or bring confidence, pride, resilience, and fight then he needs to go. The media has to stop idolizing Mexico. Mexico is not a top team worldwide. Nowadays is not even the top team in the Concacaf. Out of the last 10 games again USA, they lost 6 and won 1. They won only a Confederations cup 25 years ago. They got to Quarter finals in a world cup, only when it was played in Mexico. They do not have star players, those who really make a difference. Please check the value and the number of top seeded Mexican players in TransferMarket and compared to top teams. So, why media and fans consider Mexico a top team? Please wake Up. They say that the first step to solve a problem is to recognize that you have one.

Man, you gentleman are pretty heated, and rightfully so. I've been watching soccer/futbol since the mid-90s, and have always cheered against El Tri (Go USA!), but they are our rivals and they represent us too (through our federation) and I respect them. What the heck is going on with these guys? I have too many Mexican friends and students who are die-hard El Tri supporters who now just dismiss them as garbage which NEVER would have happened in the not so distant past. For years I've asked my students (in Central Valley, CA) if you were called up by Mexico or America to play, who would you choose...they used to answer "Mexico" without hesitation. Now...they have think about it...and their silence says it all. Hehehehe. El Tri's loss is our gain. USA baby! Assimilation!
I see something happening every time, and it is the following: Mexico plays a lot of matches within their region, against mostly non-competitive teams. Mexico wins most of those matches, most of the time. Celebration, glory, good face, lots of money flowing, pumped up in the FIFA ranking. What do you think is their logic?? "We win, and even if we don't win a cup, we beat most of the teams right? We are awesome!" "We can compete! Also FIFA ranking doesn't lie!" (IT DOES, VERY BADLY) They feel good so they prepare themselves to go against teams like Brasil, Argentina or some in Europe. So they believe that teams like Uruguay, that struggle a lot, are not enough of a challenge. Then they get crushed. Either by Uruguay or other team that is used to play at higher level most of the time. Often they get better when it's time for the tournament, they are not humilliated so easily. But even then, they soon go back to the same kind of mentality as before. It has a lot to do with money. But I have to say, they are a special kind when it comes to Football.
Seriously. At this pace, it will take them another 10 years to find another good team to put on the field. It felt like I was watching a bad MLS team play
9:48 Darwin had to pull B.Rod away from the corner as he walked toward it to celebrate the goal because he knows how MX fans behave. MX fans getting a really poor reputation around the world.
Field your experimental line up against weaker opponents like Bolivia. Put your best 11 against tougher opponents like Uruguay and substitute in new players after the half-time.
This is cultural, the way Mexican National Team fans always have an excuse for losing. Mexico doesn’t have the players. 129 million people and they can’t get players? Smaller Nations have way better players. This is a Mexican Federation problem.
Don't see how this result is at all a surprise after how El Tri looked against the US in the nations league. Mexico fans have blamed their last three managers for their struggles but the truth is even Guardiola couldn't manage this shit player pool to success. They're just not producing great players anymore. The truth is they're the 4th best team in CONCACAF in terms of talent at this point 1. USA 2. Canada 3. Jamaica
Uruguay is unstoppable....generational change with fast players, many were sub 2? World Cup champions. Suarez doesn't have a place in this team. Mexico's older players wouldn't be able to keep up.
The gap in the result could have been even larger but clearly Uruguay slowed down its machine after scoring the 4th goal since it's a team that doesn't like to brag and also administrates its energy and effort as required. Also, jornalism worldwide usually makes the mistake of deeming the Uruguayan team as underdogs, disregarding its history and the the level of its players from a country with a population vearly above 3 million people. Ask Argentians or Brasilians which team they would prefer not the play against, and the answer will most likely be Uruguay.
Deadass Mexico disrespected Uruguay by playing honestly a c team national squad, against a hot, fuming Uruguay squad. For these games now Mexico wants to play different players, should of done that at the gold cup or against Qatar, Uzbekistan. Seriously, you talk about a generational change and play the b squad to your generational squad? Acting like the generational squad is glimmering hope like they are stomping the concacaf. This is a joke. Never with Jimmy being manager I thought Almeyda should of got the job, but I guess he was actually trying to get Mexico to be good, that can’t happen. This looks a setup because now the headhonchos of the federation are going to say, you see? We try to give the new players a chance and they can’t play we have to keep bringing Ochoa, Raul Jimenez, Henry Martin. That’s a joke start your a squad and see what have tactically. They are a bit lucky with their group draw tbh. Venezuela is playing good rn but it’s still can be a 50/50 with Mexico, Ecuador took a step back with their new manager, very good players but hasn’t made that jump from the World Cup another 50/50 with Mexico, and Jamaica it’s another 50/50 if they can put it together and play as a team. I think Mexico barely has talent to stay alive and get destroyed in the next round. But I don’t think it’s going to happen cause this squad needs a strong manager that knows what he’s doing, instead of posing like if he’s in a fashion show with his tight ass apparel.

No light at the end of the tunnel. This whole Mexican player pool wouldn’t even sit on the bench for most Mexican club teams in the 90s and early 2000s
Mexico is always average because they have average players and talent in Mexico. They are not very fast nor very big nor very athletic. The reality is that Mexico's talent pool is just at that level. There isn't a higher level in Mexico. There never has been. You have the best in Mexico and the best is not at the level of the best of other countries.
I think you are correct. Most Mexicans are not very athletic. They tend to be short and skinny. And most of their soccer players are not technically gifted. They need to start recruiting dual nationals, and encouraging their young players to go to Europe
This has to be the dumbest take I’ve ever heard, Mexico has some of the deepest talent pool its is just horrendously mismanaged, you’re telling a country in Uruguay of 3.5 million people has more talent than Mexico a country with 130 million inhabitants, Mexico has shown its athleticism winning at the highest level in multiple sports, countries like Uruguay or Argentina excel at football but fail to show elite athleticism at an elite level outside of football, the issue is management.
Mexican fans are delusional. Most don't seem to be knowledgeable in world futbol. They only know Liga MX.

No, you do not have world class talent. If you did, they would be playing in Europe.

Liga MX has loads of money while the league in Argentina, Uruguay, chile, Colombia don’t , those leagues are poor and constantly sell talent at super young ages off to Europe for low price tags while Mexican teams want millions for there talent, so it goes to waste

Mexico needs to understand it's strengths and weaknesses and have a viable game plan. Whatever that was last night was not it. 2 games before Copa America is not the time to be testing new players. I’ll be honest seb has really grown on me. He’s been having some really based takes.
I see something happening every time, and it is the following:
Mexico plays a lot of matches within their region, against mostly non-competitive teams.
Mexico wins most of those matches, most of the time.
Celebration, glory, good face, lots of money flowing, pumped up in the FIFA ranking.
What do you think is their logic??
"We win, and even if we don't win a cup, we beat most of the teams right? We are awesome!"
"We can compete! Also FIFA ranking doesn't lie!" (IT DOES, VERY BADLY)
They feel good so they prepare themselves to go against teams like Brasil, Argentina or some in Europe.

Im suprised. With just Nunez thats impossible. We'll check with Brazil.
Both teams fielded their reserves... there should be no Mexcuses

Countries like Argentina and Uruguay are naturally extremely more talented than Mexico per population. Most of the Argentinian players come from poor ran down neighborhoods. Their first ball is made up of socks or popcorn bags. There is no management that makes them good, They are just good because its in the blood. Its in the culture. Kids in Argentina and Uruguay excel because they are better. They are some of the poorest kids in some of the poorest neighborhoods. The balls they play with at school and in the neighborhood are often made of socks or popcorn bags taped together. Its in the blood and in the culture and not in the numbers. Its not the management. These kids don't get any management. They get passion. Mexico is not a futbol country. I don't know what sport Mexico is known for. Maybe boxing.
@@dariusp257 it’s the other way around, the talent is Ferrari level , world class talent. Problem is that talent is treated like a Honda and the liga MX owners prefer to outsource all there talent. The trophies at youth level is all the proof you need, 2 world cups at u17 , multiple show outs at sub 17, 18 and 20 tournaments.
Horrible back line Horrible leave the original back line change the wingers leave santi at st and put midfield edzon,Chavez, sanches .
4-0 that’s normal for a low level team, welcome to the reality, this is not vs Concacaf 😅😅😅
lol first you complain your players aren’t good enough then they try different players. Then they get dog walked and you start complaining about changing players?… can’t have it both ways.
That’s because the Federation is fault. They had 9 years to get this situated. But what did they do? Their greed took over. Now they want to fix things right away. It doesn’t work like that. Uruguay build some momentum in 2010 and now 14 years later, they’re top dogs in South America. 18 years they ago, they barely qualified for the WC. See how long it took to get here.
@@SuperSayianMessi10 I agree it takes several windows, I’m saying this result was inevitable because the team is trying different players.
@@imy_macYep, defense had new faces and it faced a class offensive, no wonder the results was 4-0, in other aspects they were dominate but on defense
They had those dumb cups/tournaments to experiment but they chose to do it with copa America and these friendlies…
They used B teams when they know they don't have a chance
