Broke out my old asus laptop. Cloned the old hdd to an ssd. Did a factory reset before, so it was the old windows 7. Tried this video to upgrade and it worked like a charm!! Thanks.
I just did mine 😊😊😊... It was rejecting at some point but I didn't give up... In case you are having same issue, you might want to reboot your system and ensure your network is not interrupted.. I tried more than 6 times untill I rebooted this morning 🎉

That sounds like some issues with your registry etc, i would suggest repair install windows 7 first to fix the issues and then try upgrading it to windows 10.

This is the way to upgrade and keep the activation but if it fails for you for some reasons then try the following: 1: try activating with the windows 7 key Or 2: run this in powershell and press option 1 for permanent activation: Powershell irm massgrave.dev/get | iex I hope this helps 👍

I’m glad it worked, windows updates no issue. Uninstall/reinstall audio drivers in device manager or download audio drivers from the vendor and reinstall them.
At install I get this message. "We couldn't update the system reserved partition"? What am I doing wrong? I noticed a Microsoft office click-to-run drive that I thought was the "reserved partition", got rid of that but it still fails. Any help is greatly appreciated.

@@VitalTechHelper Great help! I actually deleted logs and that freed up some space too. Increasing the partition size will be my next step, but the current free space was increased by deleting the logs from original installation.

Thanks a ton, this worked just fine upgrading from windows 7 pro. I did have to open powershell in admin and enter the line provided. that brought up the activation menu, selected option 1 and everything activated fine.

You will need to backup your data and fresh install windows 10 64 bit. Windows 32bit to 64bit direct conversion not possible .Upgrading from the 32-bit version to the 64-bit version of Windows requires that you reformat your hard disk, install the 64-bit version of Windows, and then reinstall everything else that you had on your device.

Steps worked till installation.. during installation failed with SAFE_OS phase with an error during replicate_OC operation. As you mentioned below removed all USB devices (mouse also) and cretae new admin profile and with the new admin profile tried to install, tough luck didn't work..after 15% installation sysmes says undoind chanhes made to your computer and failed with same SAFE_OS phase with an error during replicate_OC operation. Great video, worked well. My laptop seemed to hang at one point when restarting - then I realised I had a USB stick plugged in and my laptop was trying to boot from that first. I held down the power button until the machine went off, removed the USB stick, powered back on and it worked. :-)
@@VitalTechHelper The only thing I did find is that you can no longer activate Windows with the old Windows 7 product key. That said, it's no big deal, because everything still works, including all the Windows 10 updates.
Try the following: Check you software Installations. endpoint protection or Security software blocking changes to system drivers. Remove it and try again And be some missing drivers on intel chip-set. Install all drivers
Its not a simple upgrade from a 32bit os to a 64 bit os. Its a clean install , meaning backup everything and then wipe and install windows from scratch 👍

@@Brandoncoolboy78 As you mentioned the minimum of 20 Gb should be free in C drive(main drive). I have 40 Gb free in C drive. But my installation file is on D drive.. will that be an issue..? Should I move files to the C drive before starting installation. THANKS IN ADVANCE 💐

Hi , two fixes you could try, first: make sure no external usb devices connected except your mouse and keyboard. 2nd : create a new admin user account and try upgrading from that account, could be a possible user profile issue.

If your copy of windows 7 preactivated, then skip the key on installation step, once upgraded , it should auto activate. If not , in comments find an activation script.

Hi, it still works and many have successfully upgraded. I think you need to cleanup disk and check disk for any issues. Make sure uninstall any security softwares before the upgrade. Also, make sure no external storage or devices are connected to your pc. And restart before upgrade👍

Nevermind, it appears that it just takes a really long time. It is going through the setup now.

You windows 7 is 32bit (x86) therefore, You need to download the windows 10 32bit iso as well as the 32bit of 7zip

Power it off fully by holding the power button for 10 seconds if its a laptop. Or power down from mains if its a desktop. Reboot and see if it works

It sounds like the copy of windows 7 you have is 32bit , so you need to redownload the windows 10 32bit instead of 64bit.
It said "This side can't be reached" when I clicked 64 bit
The installation app stopped working while at the "Making sure you're ready to install" part. How do i fix this?

windows failed to activate with generic key did I do something wrong. the windows 7 key was activated and genuine.
It has activated for most of us but if it hasn’t for then, dig deep in comments somewhere you will find a link to activate it manually.

You should be able to upgrade to windows 10 with this guide even if its not genuine BUT you will need to activate windows 10
Great video, worked well. My laptop seemed to hang at one point when restarting - then I realised I had a USB stick plugged in and my laptop was trying to boot from that first. I held down the power button until the machine went off, removed the USB stick, powered back on and it worked. :-)

@@VitalTechHelper The only thing I did find is that you can no longer activate Windows with the old Windows 7 product key. That said, it's no big deal, because everything still works, including all the Windows 10 updates.

Try the following:
Check you software Installations. endpoint protection or Security software blocking changes to system drivers. Remove it and try again
And be some missing drivers on intel chip-set. Install all drivers
I tried again and still failed.

Its not a simple upgrade from a 32bit os to a 64 bit os. Its a clean install , meaning backup everything and then wipe and install windows from scratch 👍

That means you are running a windows 32bit Operating system and you need to download windows 32 bit iso.

@@Brandoncoolboy78 As you mentioned the minimum of 20 Gb should be free in C drive(main drive). I have 40 Gb free in C drive. But my installation file is on D drive.. will that be an issue..? Should I move files to the C drive before starting installation. THANKS IN ADVANCE 💐
@@bpsatish Maybe that will work, the update will have to install to your C drive. If theres anyway you can change it to that the update should work fine. Let me know if theres any problems.

I never tried in firefox, probably it won’t work, download an old version of chrome and try again

Hi , two fixes you could try, first: make sure no external usb devices connected except your mouse and keyboard. 2nd : create a new admin user account and try upgrading from that account, could be a possible user profile issue.

If it happens post instalation of OS, it might be that you need to re-install your network drivers.

If your copy of windows 7 preactivated, then skip the key on installation step, once upgraded , it should auto activate. If not , in comments find an activation script.

Hi, it still works and many have successfully upgraded. I think you need to cleanup disk and check disk for any issues. Make sure uninstall any security softwares before the upgrade. Also, make sure no external storage or devices are connected to your pc. And restart before upgrade👍
