@@Grollm Moonie has been the most consistent for me. very clear, strong gameplans that lean the most into fundamental mechanics and tend to play best with the character neutral dice. I do agree that Austra probably has the highest highs, with the really powerful crit stacking. Sothis has some mechanics that tease really incredible power at the risk of leaning into the Affliction mechanic, so I haven't done much there but I keep thinking it'll be busted if I can do it right
@Silas_MN Every time I try Sothis I go overboard with Affliction and end up screwing myself 😅 I like Moonie too, very consistent. The one I didn't really care for was the Rhino guy, can't remember his name. He reminded me a lot of how Iron Chad plays in Slay the Spire and Iron Chad is my least favorite hero in Slay so it would make sense I wouldn't really care for the Rhino lol.
@@Grollm I also struggle with Hevelius, he promises a lot with manipulating sentinels but I've yet to make that actually work over just like stacking link buffs, which are just buffs for you with extra steps
@distractingsparkles Thanks for watching! The other game is Roguebook. It's a really fun deck builder by Richard Garfield(one of the creators of Magic the Gathering). It's unique because you have a character in front and in back. Certain cards can only be played from either position and certain cards are stronger when played from either the front or back. Also each character gets their own unique cards so as you're building your deck you can choose to focus on one character or the other, or focus on both. What I usually do is have one character be my damage dealer and the other act as support. Really fun game, highly recommended.
@@Grollm Thanks for two recommendations. I'm into board games and know of Richard Garfield, but had no idea he created a video game. Sounds like a blast; I'll definitely be picking up a copy. Thanks again!
your comments line up well with my thoughts on the game so far, though I do have the character strength lined up a little differently
@@Silas_MN nice! Who do you think is the strongest?

@Silas_MN yeah exactly. The best decks I've had with him is where you take damage and then heal back.
Well done review. There are Slay The Spire clips and another game in this video, what is the name of the second game?

@@distractingsparkles no problem! Let me know what you think of it!
Nice video. So are we to assume that you beat the game (at least on one of the difficulty levels)? You don't really mention that
@flaminghead1va thank you! Oh yeah I beat it on all the characters and I think I'm on ascension (or whatever this game calls it) 6 with Austra.
Such a great game! Glad you covered it very clearly and succinctly.
I'm loving it!
