Great video! This is by far the best bata rhythm break down on congas (especially in English) I've seen so far. I've taken few lessons with the bata drums in Cuba around December 2019 and fell in love with it. It's great to be able to have this kind of lesson on youtube. I just want to let you know that a fellow Congero in Japan is a fan of your video. You are inspiring musician in the Far East as well. Keep up the great work :)
You are the best mr Perez. Thanks everythings and your efforts for us. I want to your help. I'm looking for VST plug-ins for latin music. however, the instruments will be recorded live as in the superior drum 3 and will contain sample midi groves. is there anything you know 🙏🏻
Hi Thanks much for the lovely lessons. Can you please let me know for how long do you suggest to practise Double strokes and Five stroke roles. Thanks!
Thanks to Eric! I just got into Congas a week ago. I'm also looking for Timbale information. Can anyone help me out? I'm considering purchasing a set of Leedy vintage brass Timbales.
Love this video explanation and is challenging for me, so I'm going to work hard at it. Also love the split second WWJD when you were giving the disclaimer. 🤣
Nice sincere attempt. The problem is that in fact this rhythm when played on bata is phrased, it is not in strict 4/4 as you are playing it but is pulled toward a 6. The way you play it is very straight, in the sense of "straight jacket" and lacks the sinuousness and complexity of the real rhythm. Admittedly that might be hard to do on congas but you could at least try doing it.
would love to see more bata adaptations!

Those cueros sound great. A nice, warm sound not like the plastic, ringing of synthetic cueros.

I love this pattern as well!! Love the feel & just how it flows man thanks for this for I will do it forever!
Francisco Aguabella, & Perdrito Martinez, generally specialize in these rhythms. I believe.

Great video! I always thought the Iya was the downbeat of the 2 side of the clave. At least that's what it says in Ed Uribe's book.
Bro. You are awesome..... but I feel crazy....thanks again.

Lo siento mucho pero ese ritmo no es Chachalokuafun.
Se parece más a OSSAIN. Investiga un poco más antes de subir esta información.
