Since the video is longer than usual... thought I should add the time stamps! Thanks! 1st Songo Variation- 5:16 2nd Songo Variation- 7:38 3rd Songo Variation- 10:57 4th Songo Variation- 14:48 5th Songo Variation- 17:40 Counting- 23:00
Could you point to specific songs where those 5 patterns can be hear in action? I'm trying to think what the rest of the band would be playing. Is the congas pattern something that was originated on it's own or to "fit" it to what another instrument in the arrangement would be playing?
@@burricanecarter I second this question, I'm trying to get a better feel of songo, but I find it difficult to really hear what the congas are doing in a lot of los van van tunes. I probably just need to train my ears more though.
As a retired Army Vet I say thank you, little Bro, for those words! Anyway, great Vid as always, keep up the great work my man! Hey, you can do so much, just stay the course and don't rush, I'm sure we will like anything to can load up!
Thoroughly enjoyed this Video. Love how you explain every hit, open, closed, slaps and tip. Fourth one stuck in my mind because like it really grooves for me. Songo used in mostly "Timba" music. Can you explain that subject to your viewers. I think that most people really don't know the evolution of this "Concept" in which "Changito" invented. With all due respect. You are very deep Brother Wow ! 😎 🎶🙏🥁
Which songo variation can you recommend me for songo pentecostal used to play fast songs/coritos in spanish pentecostal churches? Thanks man any advice is much appreciated
