YES! Thank you so much Jared. I now have my road map set up and know where I am going with my camera equipment in the future. One question; I noticed that the exposure was in an auto mode, kind of like "auto iso" what setting is that? because I noticed you were in Manual mode but I can't seem to do that on. my Canon 7D MkII. Thanks again for this Jared, you really have answered a lot of questions I had. You Da Fro!

100%… My “holy trinity” is the EF 70-200 2.8 gen 3, RF 24-105 f/4, and 180mm macro (old as dirt)-or the Lindsay Adler kit as I like to call it… I LOVE my 70-200 and do NOT want to have to upgrade it. I couldn't care less about the weight. Honestly it makes it feel more solid in my hands. It's a mind-blowing beast of a lens and works amazing on my R. So glad to see the adapters are keeping up with the improvements in the R5 for when I switch!

Hi Jared, the fact you are shooting at *f2.8* 🟥 and the subject is *moving so fast* , this truly shows how accurate the new Canon is. Super impressed. ✅ If that focus system was not working correctly you would have so many focus issues at *f2.8* Add in the 3rd factor that you are also moving. ✅ Many people taking photos of these guys would have a problem keeping them in frame, these guys are speedy on the field ! Enough said. Amazing results. Canon's new focus system is so impressive.

EXCELLENT recap Jared!! I have been struggling with the decision to buy the new EOS r6 ii and the potential need to get all new glass to take advantage of the camera's AF. Now seeing that I will be able to use my existing EF lenses & still get all the advantages that come with the new camera eases that decision. I can now fearlessly buy this new camera & adapter and then slowly, as budget permits, replace my older glass! Thank you for your excellent video's...

The more technical and practical challenge for football is locking onto the eyes of players who are wearing helmets during gameplay. It's a challenge to keep track of the active player through all the chaos of the play at 400mm ... much less to nail focus on their eyes through the grates of the helmet at f/2.8. This is one example where an advanced autofocus system would truly push most photographers, including many skilled professionals, to the next level. Either way excellent test by Jared and impressive results from the camera.

I mean you could do that in 2008 too if you had Nikon, their AF was top tier back then, Canon was playing catch up game and Sony was nowhere until Sony A7III came.

Eye tracking has been a thing for last 40 years, not sure if you honestly think autofocus has been invented yesterday.
Nikon D750 was the first Nikon body to have face and eye detection AF.
Samsung however had it since 2010 although it was not very good until NX1 came out.
But I was specifically talking about the year 2008, Nikon in 2008 had the best AF systems, thats a fact.

Awesome stuff Jared, still looking for someone who could test this out on a car environment , preferably drift and autocross since there is a lot of back and forth and side to side movement, also testing the hours and amount of pictures taken and then switching to video to see if the camera would allow you to record anything at all.
    Thanks guys!

Hi Jared, when connecting an "old" Canon EF lens to the adapter to my R5, I have a drop in frame per second rate. The H+ icon is blinking and is white now and not green. With the 11-24mm F4, everything is fine. But with my 135mm F2 and my 16-35mm F2.8 mk1 it dosen't look like it's working. I've try changing aperture, shooting mode etc... It works fine with electronic shutter tho... Have you got similar experience ? Love your content, greetings form Switzerland.
