Years after the OT has been out, and many months since I've been playing it, this is one of the absolute best uses, performances, and demonstrations of the instrument I've ever seen. Watching you play is incredible! I feel like I'm learning just watching I've been stopping and rewinding to see what little tricks you're using and wow ... you are a true master of the art. Well. Done.
He is boss......you and he both have totally sold me on Elekton's gear, I just need my bank account to co-operate ;) I'm a massive Volca fan as well, and your name has come up quite often (along with links to your OP-1 and Elektron videos) in the Korg Volca Facebook group. Have you ever played around with the Volcas? If so, what did you think? Would love to see a Cuckoo Volca jam :)
He he.. Thansk. I didn't know that :) Actually, I've never touched the Volcas. They sound like fun. I should try them out at some point! They're just getting more and more!
I first heard the Volca Beats kick in on the video and I knew that I needed one of those. I've been listening to a lot of plastikman and this sounds very similar to his drum machines.
Great performance, and it looks really fun too! Been looking at the Octatrack, but I have a backlog of other gadgets to master first... Keep up the great work, you got yourself a new subscriber! :)
Dude, this is an amazing performance! I've seen tons of your videos, this is the first one I've seen you rocking the Volcas as well....killer! I've been working a ton with the Volcas, hoping to add some Elektron gear in the future, as soon as the budget allows :)
Instant answer to my question if the small pattern amount on the Volca's would be a problem. Paired with the Octatrack one can jam until eternity! Great stuff as always. Bye, bye A4?
Great demo as usual. In response to REOvolt though.. depends on what you want to do but I wouldn`t sell the analog 4 for a setup that essentially makes mangled acid sounds, the a4 is a far more versatile synth
Very nice demonstration here, and it really does emphasize the fact that the Volcas are very SMALL ;-) as the Octatrack itself is not large for a "groovebox".
Man! I could add some seriously "MANGLED" samples to this and produce this line with vocals and track it nationally with interscope records bro. ...good upbeat and definately down with the intro bassline...solid!
Alright...I was wondering if I was going to pick up these new Korg Volca...you convinced me! I just got the Octatrack not too long ago and I was wondering how they would pair up.
Great video! What would u say about the sonic possiblilities after playing with the Keys ? I know we cannot expect miracles, but still, is it worth getting it, for some nice chords and creating some basslines in a fun way (techno music oriented) ? thank you!
i've got the keys and the bass and tho i found the keys a bit harder to get to grips with at first, i would fully recommend it! lovely sound and good functionality, tho would recommend use with a midi keyboard ! :) lovely analog sound tho
So in PART2 is where all of the audio buffers are getting re seqeunced is where the crazy glitch is happening? because when it's all in the buffer, you can mangle audio even futher than just delay, you can reverse the sample, or pick different parts of the sample to trig lock, and it's all be pre setup, so once you record into the audio buffer, whaever scene you assign reverse playback it's doing that automatically to the newest audio recorded into buffer?
Can you explain what you mean by pre sliced? do you mean you slice your grid "over silence" before you record any incoming audio and the save this, which then lets you resample from the inputs and have THAT audio automatically cut into 16 slices ready to re-arrange? if so that is the best new trick I have learnt !!!
Do you have an explainer somewhere that you talk about the delay between switching PARTs when you are using them to switch machines types? You tell me that it's a bug you use as a feature, do you go more into detail anywhere about that at all? Much appreciated master CENK!
when you go back to part one and you're taking out the trigs that you put down in part2 what are the trigs doing, until you take them out, since they don't have a sample attached to them anymore?
hey mr dataline ! great video. could you please exactly tell us the assignment of all your tracks on PART 1 and 2 ? Is it right that you have a recording buffer 5 on PART 1 ( on witch track is it ? ) and you play this recording bufferr 5 on PART 2 only ? cheers !
+Lukas Szwedowicz the volcas have a 1/8 inch sync in that connects them together. Here the midi is only plugged into the volca beats, with the beats and bass modules synced via the 1/8 ins.
Love watching your robotic hands. You're so fast, knowing exactly what you're doing!
Freaking amazing! I never really got what the Octatrack was about but this video has singlehandedly opened my eyes to the possibilities.

Finally a demo that actually shows the potential of the instruments I've been looking into. Thank you!!!!!
I didn't know it could do that. I've been kind of admiring the entire elektron line of products for a while. this one got me.
***** is boss. He just crossed the 100.000 views mark with this video. I guess there's great interest in trippy electronic music in the world :)
I love ELEKTRON :)
and what about Korg Beats and Bass?
He is boss......you and he both have totally sold me on Elekton's gear, I just need my bank account to co-operate ;) I'm a massive Volca fan as well, and your name has come up quite often (along with links to your OP-1 and Elektron videos) in the Korg Volca Facebook group. +cuckoomusic would like to see a tutorial on how to actually set this scenario up. 😉
This is the best example I have seen of someone useing the Ocatrack in a similar way to how I wish to use it. You;re skills are amazing sir.
I have one, it's basically like a more powerful MPC with a less intuitive interface. I personally love it.
I know many like to complain about it, but I actually love the sound of the Volca snare
:)
I like how you summed up all the volca songs that have been cruising around youtube in this one. Cheers for this video!
It's one of the best live session on youtube! Great work mate!!!!!
volca bass, the new future vintage classic...
lol
I have to admit out of all my Volcas the bass is without a doubt the first one I reach for almost every time
Sounds as the TB 303... uh future from 80's.. not new
Man this is still fire fckn amazing those boxes are, you need to start uploading man
Very cool what the Octatrack is capable of in competent hands. Looking forward to owning one!
Awesome dude....the detuned bassline on that little Korg Volca made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!
Love the reverb fill at 6.21- very nice!
This is just too awesome. I can listen to this all day.
Around 1% of Elektron machine videos are actually interesting, this is one of them.
This video could really benefit a breadown of the set-up!
Fantastic sounds and performence
Totally, positibely, absolutely AWESOME!! I LOVE that slide switch function!
Love the Glitch Cross fade Tricks from the Octatrack, need this too
This is probably the first use of the Volca synths that I actually find impressive. Very cool performance. :)
Your videos always remind me that I need to spend more time with my own OT. Awesome as always :)
holy fuck I was going to buy these volca pieces but now you've just sold me on the octatrack instead crazy awesome device
I'm way late on this but damn if this isn't some classic acid!
Came for the Korg Volca. Stayed for the dance party! SICK MAN!
I`m always fascinated by your hands. Awesome!
I first heard the Volca Beats kick in on the video and I knew that I needed one of those. I've been listening to a lot of plastikman and this sounds very similar to his drum machines.
Best analog jam ive seen in a while
Very well done. I'm very motivated to buy an Elektron Analog Four in a few weeks. Thanks.
Fantstic. Can't wait to try out those little boxes.
Awesome live performance dude!
I can watch you jam all day fam. Good job!
must resist ordering one from japan...
must wait for UK release...
Amazing Video and skills!
Thanks for this, Dataline! My Volcas are in the mail, and I am SALIVATING.
Great performance, and it looks really fun too! Been looking at the Octatrack, but I have a backlog of other gadgets to master first... Keep up the great work, you got yourself a new subscriber! :)
Sir Dataline, This was pretty amazing!
this is one of the greatest youtube videos
so this is the octatrack and what it can do! I've been looking for a piece of equipment that manipulate midi signals
Amazing Octatrack 🤘🏻💪🏻
Simply excellent, as usual Dataline live :-) bravo !
excellent! très très intéressant pour le live à priori.J'aime beaucoup l'ergonomie.
I could listen to this for hours
MrDataline rules, plain and simple!
brilliant. got the volcas and was wonderin which elektron to get first... now i know.
Dude, this is an amazing performance! I've seen tons of your videos, this is the first one I've seen you rocking the Volcas as well....killer! I've been working a ton with the Volcas, hoping to add some Elektron gear in the future, as soon as the budget allows :)
Really good Volca's Live !!! ;)
Thanks for that
That's a fricking awesome sound for only 3 devices!
YES!!!!!
Thanks for making this. Korg should pay you for making a good demo of these little guys.
Instant answer to my question if the small pattern amount on the Volca's would be a problem. Paired with the Octatrack one can jam until eternity! Great stuff as always.
Bye, bye A4?
quality live session man!
Incredible capabilities.
Nice! 2:40 onwards sounds like The Hacker. Can't think of a better compliment than that :)
05:40 !!! Nice work man!
man..midi has come a long way...nice improv dude..
Great demo as usual. In response to REOvolt though.. depends on what you want to do but I wouldn`t sell the analog 4 for a setup that essentially makes mangled acid sounds, the a4 is a far more versatile synth
Man, I was really loving that dungeon effect you had going on it the beginning.
this is KICKIN man!! great stuff
Wow, you have some serious skills man
Now thats some push the envelope funny ass perfomance :-) I WANT A VOLCA BAAAASS!!!
bem dred!
www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xkorg+volca&_nkw=korg+volca&_sacat=0&_from=R40
14:16 that drop seriously rocks
Nice Video!
Is is possible to use the sync In of the Volca Bass with the Analog Four's CV track?
Would be nice if you can make a Video of this.
awesome performance man... uuuggghhh so wish I had the money for an Octatrack thoooougghh!!!!!!!!!
awesome performance
Great job, really great work!
Alright...I was wondering if I was going to pick up these new Korg Volca...you convinced me! I just got the Octatrack not too long ago and I was wondering how they would pair up.
Simply awesome.
so is the octatrack doing the sequensimg and then the sound is fed in the otatrack again for effects??
3:22 transition 101 💪

i slowly getting your genius, bow before the master, people!
Excellent stuff, very catchy!
What size are the power supply inputs on the Volcas? Are they the same size as those industry standard Boss guitar pedal stomp boxes? Thanks!
crazy wtf mate you killed that!!!
Very, very sick!
I will certainly try using the Volca with KP3 ( and other things ) when I get them. ; - )
Really good, look at those hands go!
Do you have an explainer somewhere that you talk about the delay between switching PARTs when you are using them to switch machines types? You tell me that it's a bug you use as a feature, do you go more into detail anywhere about that at all? Much appreciated master CENK!
instead of Volca, i put a Roland TR8s and MC707 into my Octatrack, it's just a much more expensive version of what you're doing here...
when you go back to part one and you're taking out the trigs that you put down in part2 what are the trigs doing, until you take them out, since they don't have a sample attached to them anymore?

this music and planing and broadened the mind
I want to see this live
Outstanding
love the part starting at 10:10!
Can you tell what you know about that elektron octatrack? never heard of it
Fantastic!
How do you sync Volca with Elektron?
midi out to midi in..
This is the dream of hardware right here
Awwww man. Need to get back to learning the Octatrack.
Is there a metronome bleep sample somewhere and did he just made a metronome bleep sound cool?? Sir, you are the root of my GAS. Keeping posting dude!
Terrific! Sounds like Kraftwerk and Euro progressive trance have an affair. I want some more in this taste.
how can you contact/sync these machines together
can you also sync the volca with electron four
+Lukas Szwedowicz musical electronic instruments are connected and synced via a MIDI cable.
+Lukas Szwedowicz the volcas have a 1/8 inch sync in that connects them together. Here the midi is only plugged into the volca beats, with the beats and bass modules synced via the 1/8 ins.
superb, mrdataline!
this is sick
That's a chunky tech workout with a bit of experimentation to keep it interesting
awesome stuff man
How did you configure the MIDI tracks to work with the Korg Volca Beats to let you sequence the audio patterns from the Octatrack?
Nice jam !
