Great review and guide. Cwicly has matured alot since release and has got alot of updates. The developers are very responsive. The first time I liked or at least could see, the features and possibilities of Gutenberg/FSE.
This replaces a number of plugins usually needed, just in one go. That is nice… looking forward, how they will reduce the nice complexity for people that shouldn't see it like clients, editors and writers.
Good point. They haven't thought about that yet. There are probably some permissions / options to create a custom role, but that's the kind of issue why I said pros might not want to switch.
So I just found out that if you have some problems when you build something new, just reload your cookies, that fixes a lot of stuff. Just for everyone out there who are trying to find the answer. For me, the issue was that it didn't look right, and the styles didn't load properly. The icons were supermassive and text was just like showing really weirdly.
Can't understand why there is so little excitement on the web (TH-cam especially) about Cwicly!! Apart from this channel and the cwicly team, there is virtually nothing. Anybody got any idea why this is the case?? I thought they had timed things perfectly for the introduction of WordPress 5.9...
It was on AppSumo for a short time and the team didn't promote it after that. They decided they wanted to add features and fix bugs first ... so that was a conscious choice. I went to make another video recently, but saw that there are them things they will need to change now that 5.9 is out, so decided to wait.
Question, do you also have to buy the theme? It seems you have a theme license there as well. I checked their website and it shows nothing about a theme.
The new Twenty Twenty-Two theme is looking nice and there will some basic things you can do with core. Maybe not as many bells and whistles, but more than enough to display your content. The place where you may need help with core is in showing custom fields. Gutenberg core blocks don't do that now. Of course if you are not using custom fields, then no problem.

It all comes bundled together. They are not sold separately. Their marketing materials could be improved.

it's a lifetime license what I have read from a respond in YT from the developers
ACF Pro is embedded in the Cwicly plugin so you have the Cwicly plugin installed and activated. Updates and support are handled by Cwicly.
