    Great video. Also there is an image block that they are close to releasing. It’s currently in review, but could be out really soon.

    I was looking for the header and footer features - as that's what I call a theme builder. Otherwise, these would be referred to as page builder features in my book. Thanks for the video!

    • @DavidMcCan

      There is an option to replace the header and an option to replace the footer.

    I only got Kadence Pro LTD really early on, but not the Kadence Blocks Pro or membership. I was always waiting for a bundle LTD consisting of theme + blocks (the other stuff was overkill for my needs). It was always only a full on membership, all or nothing. But I guess I can also use the basic blocks or blocks from other vendors for dynamic stuff. But really nice that they are looking ahead and offering a template solution. I was curious how these types of customizer Themes would deal with this and how well they will survive once Site Builder is the norm.

    Great video. What's the fastest way to add a post custom field to the kadence blocks?

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At this point, you probably want to use ACF. I believe Meta Box support has been requested, but I'm not sure if it is officially on the roadmap yet.

      @@DavidMcCan I would like to add the number of comments in ACF, how to do?

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KrzysztofGrodzki_fusserg - The number of comments are not stored in an ACF field. I checked and currently the options in the Kadence Blocks don't expose comment number as a field. WordPress 5.9 is including a Comments Number block, so that will be available in the in about a month. If you need something now you may need to ask Kadence support to see if they have a way to get it. I hope this helps.

    The infobox setting can be copied and paste to new infobox so you do hv to set everything again

    I'm wondering if this will also be available for creating Woocommerce templates... hmmm. Kadence has one for Elementor, but I am getting my site away from those page builders, so a Woocommerce template builder will be needed.

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be useful. I don't have Woo installed, so can't easily check. If I recall correctly, you can target Woo pages using Elements, but I don't know if you would have the blocks needed.

    Since one author can write several books, it would be more efficient to save the author info once in an Author post type and link to it. If the Book field group included a Relationship field filtered by an Author post type, the author could be selected when adding a new book. And, if the Author post type had an Author field group with an image and URL field, then the Single Book template could display the author info by adding dynamic content and selecting Post Custom Field under META RELATIONSHIP in the Content field and then selecting Author in the Relationship Source field followed by the image or URL field.
    I've been able to do this, but I need help figuring out how to display multiple Authors for one book (a common use case) within the Book template. When I create a Book, I can select more than one Author, but I don't know how to loop through them in the Book template. Any advice?

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With An ACF post relationship you can associate more than one related record in the relationship. So in the Books Custom Post Type you would pick two related authors. Or you could have a repeater field. Kadence Blocks don't work with repeaters without code and I'm not sure the blocks would automatically pull in all related fields. Also, Kadence doesn't have a query loop block yet, though one is planned. So, I think with Kadence you will need to use some code.

      @@DavidMcCan I was afraid of that. Would switching from ACF to Toolset help?

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rusticwaters - Yes, you can do that with Toolset Blocks and Views. I haven't done much with Toolset since they paused new features waiting to see how the Full Site Editor works out.

    Is there a way to add post navigation/pagination on the single post layouts?

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like a good request. Post navigation is available for posts in the theme Customizer. Not sure if it shows if you create a content template for posts. Post nav is not for Custom Post Types.

    • @LearningwithMarkWarren
      @LearningwithMarkWarren 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DavidMcCan Thanks, I'm going to have to submit that to Kadence then. I saw post nav in the customizer but could find an easy way to do it for CPT's. Even though it's not there today I'm still loving Kadence, and I've converted all my Elementor sites to it. Great video!

    How does this compare to FSE theme coming in 5.9?

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For a while at least this will be more polished. The nice thing about FSE is that it will be a free option for those who who don't have any budget. I'm sure it will continue to get better and absolutely there are a lot of plugins and themes waiting to release their addons for use with FSE, so I'm expecting users to have a lot of options.

    Which one will be better Kadence or Cwicly for FSE.

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cwicly uses Gutenberg Full Site Editing. Kadence has its own theme builder implementation. They are very different. It you already have one then use the one you own. If not, Kadence might give you a bit more flexibility.
