Being a huge Bond and Who fan, Amberley is a bit of a "twofor". The Doctor found himself here in 1976 for the sequence in the matrix in "The Deadly Assassin". Quite accidentally I found myself walking near here during a visit to Arundel nearby.
Lol I loved your reenactment of the MayDay demise. I'm glad I'm not the only one who would go crazy at that site! Love your podcasts and videos, definitely one of my all-time favorite TH-cam channels!
Will be visiting soon Hopefully will meet the cast . Haha. I do look back with sadness. Those where the days. I loved the atmospherics of the 70's and 80's. Saw all of Roger Moore movies. 34years ago when View to a Kill was made. Great video. Many thanks. Have been to James Bond island in Thailand. That's worth a visit to anyone.
trett films? or really pathetic and sorry about following the scent of a fake british agents locations, and you call that cute? don't you think the amount of grown men in modern society that have toy rooms and mancaves should be focused on more vital things? life is about progressing, not regressing into childhood, men need to be stepping up, they shouldn't be consumed with trivial things that mean absolutely nothing, the downfall of society can be directly linked to males that have been put out of action, the world is slipping into tyranny and grown men consumed with james bond and action figures, so cute no, pathetic yes
Nice one, Chris. Always great to check out a Bond location. Unfortunately being in South Africa I don't get such opportunities, but I did get to Piz Gloria when I was in Switzerland 8 years ago, so I know what it is like to be on a Bond location. I enjoyed seeing behind the scenes at Amberley, and would love to visit there at some point. Great to see that they have preserved the old mine trains, even including a steam engine. I am a steam locomotive fireman myself, so this is of great interest to me as it combines my two biggest interests: Bond and steam locomotives!
Lol very entertaining. Looks like the track layout has changed in front of the tunnel since the film was made there. But then again the track was blown to smithereens!
Thank you very much for this nice film. I enjoyed your video very much since I am fan of this underrated bond film, mainly because of its great locations like this one.
Wow! Awesome video at our lovely Museum. I hope you don't mind us sharing this on our Social Media? Please email us at marketing@amberleymuseum.co.uk. We'd love to gift you some tickets to our Bond event in September! (It was supposed to be this weekend, but we have obviously had to postpone it.)
One of the worst Bonds ever (View To A Kill) Moore was too old, the villains were terrible (Walken, Jones) and Tanya Roberts couldn’t act. Definitely down there with License To Kill, Moonraker, The World Is Not Enough.
I was a kid living in Storrington at the time. Me and some friends rode our bikes to Amberly to watch the filming
Very cool! Did you get to see much of the filming?
Amazing to see Zi still on the mine carts... just never bothered removing them all these years
They can not get it off, honestly. They repainted the carts years ago, but new paint just peels off. That's when they gave up. Very funny :-)

Great video. Brings back yesterday's memories of the film. Great video thanks.
Something very adorable about Chris geeking out solo.

Glad you enjoyed it Matt Raubenheimer ! I can't help but get over excited when I visit a Bond location! :)
Imagine the bed scene with a plastic Grace Jones and a wooden Roger Moore. Would have been like something from Team America.

Zorin's mine was made in the studio.
While Mayday was blown up another place.
Excellent location report Chris ....... your impersonations ...... Priceless :o)
You should be a presenter of a short film for the BBC, You have a good sense of humour!
Great video
Is the well still there? Stacey climbed up through it... :)
Was Roger left behind from the original crew?😂
Cool video. Really enjoyed it, especially as I visited Amberly Museum today.
You missed the bit where the airship comes over the top of the cliff; that was filmed up behind the Paviors Museum at the other end of the site
I guess you didn't watch the entire video😏
Say what you will about abandoned mines. They last!!
