      Discovering new and varying techniques from other muas, as well as commonalities with one another, (i.e. Zabrena's empathy for having to create an arch, exclaiming "me too!" when she realized Stephanie's fave brush was also her favourite ) is always cool to see.

    I love Wayne Goss! He sometimes uses unconventional techniques, but he’s a genius! And I’ve been using Stephanie Lange’s dome shaped technique for a couple of years now. Excellent video, Zabrena. Hope you and your family are staying safe and well.

    I love how respectful you are to all people, including other TH-camrs. You are a good model, both inside and out.
    I have a question, too- how did Wayne's technique wear throughout the day? My face gets oily really easily, so I would love to know how long the beautiful look lasts. Thanks!

    • @Zabrena
      @Zabrena  4 ปีที่แล้ว +66

      Thank you so much for your kind words! :) It got very shiny LOL I had to blot a couple of times! Next time I would eliminate the facial oil and reduce the moisturizer, and add a primer. I would still keep all the products cream based and add a light dusting of powder, I think it would hold up much better with those minor tweaks!

      This is similar to what I do for stage makeup in situations where the face has to be very defined to stand up to the lights but also look very natural. I always use powder over it (the lights and costumes get really hot and sweaty!) and then setting spray or even just water in a fine mist to make it look less cakey. It does look really natural, but unless you have very dry skin, this is going to look oily quickly without any powder.

    I like Goss' channel because he always encourages people to think about what they are trying to achieve with make up, thoughtful placement vs fancy products. And he caters to softer looks rather than drag techniques (not to knock drag techniques at all, they are beautiful.)

    • @jasonmack2569
      @jasonmack2569 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      This drag queen agrees with you. Drag techniques are to create an over the top look; feminize a masculine face; and be seen on stage in a dark night club. Also, they can take a long time to perfect. Wayne's techniques are easy to master and look great. I love his eye tutorials. Plus Wayne is not hard on the eyes. 😉

    Wayne Goss technique to do your face is method I used to do my makeup for many years....moisturize , concealer, contour, foundation, then creme blush or lipstick high on the cheeks. 1970's thru 2016 . I may go back to this method. We also used a white or cream eye shadow below the brow bone & high on the cheeks....we didn't call it highlighter....lol We used our makeup products as ( 2fers ) double duty....we owned fewer makeup products in the 70's 80's & 90's & 2000's then after 2010 everyone seemed to have hundreds of makeup products. Zabrena the face makeup technique was a great look for you. Thank you for reminding how I used to do my face makeup. ♡♡

    My favorite trick that I have learn recently is applying your lip liner after you apply your lipstick. Apply the lipstick towards in the inner and middle part of the lip leaving the outer part of the lip for the lip liner. Then apply the lip liner and press your lips together to blend! I absolutely love this!!

    2.) I'm a foundation before eyes girl. Always have been. I've tried it the opposite way and I just can't get with it lol
    3.) Doesn't *everyone* raise their eyebrows when filling them in, or is it just me lol
    4.) I'm another one who's a little bothered by this trend of fake freckles right now. I have them naturally and was teased about having them as a kid. Now people are paying for special products to have fake freckles? Yeah, that really gets under my skin.

      Full lips weren’t in when I was growing up in the 80s and early 90s and even about 15yrs ago I had someone tell me I shouldn’t wear gloss because it made my full lips look larger. Now people are full of lip fillers everywhere! Lol (plus I’m in my mid 40s and fuller lips make me look a bit younger than my thinner lipped friends my age!) It’s so funny how things work like that.

    I’ve always had hooded eyes and I discovered this technique from Stephanie a while back and loved it. Brilliant for hooded eyes. My mom used lipstick as blush back in the 70s. She said it always guaranteed that her cheeks and lips would match. Xx

    O yes, the freckles! We have spent our whole lives covering them up and now everybody wants them! 🤣 But I've learned to love them as I get older ☺ Thank you for making my day, Z! You never fail to make me smile, laugh and try something out of my comfort zone! 😘💕💕

    Lipstick as blush is pretty much the only makeup trick I learned from my mom (65yrs old), she said she learned it from her mom as well, so its been around for close to 100yrs! I'm always so excited when I see it pop up in YT though!

    My mom also used her lipstick for her rouge! That's all I can remember her using. I guess the phrase "everything old is new again" is true! Fun video, thanks for making it! Stay well!

    I have to say - this look is stunning on you!!!!!!!!! Wayne's technique is definitely my favorite because it melted all the face makeup together into a youthful glow. It draws yours eyes to your natural beauty rather than the makeup itself. I can't wait to try lipstick as blush. Stay safe and healthy everyone!
