I have two rescue African greys, One owner died!I think the family struggled with this bird talking in the husbands voice, she comes out with all sorts, It is strange,
My cousin has an African Grey that raps parts of Tupac songs.
That’s great that you could take them in. Plenty of these beautiful birds have to be addressed in the owners’ wills.
Lol. My grey (Vincent Van Gogh) also mimics multiple voices & kinda exaggerated inflections that he latched on to. One of these little snippets always makes me smile. I've had him for 24 years now, & he often calls out for me from across the house in my dad's perfectly recited bellow, & then Vincent answers himself in my voice when I was a teenager:
"Lisa!", then "WHAT!?!?!"
... over & over...
It serves as a reminder that I should be mindful of sounding like a snappy teen full of angst.... lol

Parrots are so smart and feel emotions. It can take a lot of time and repetition for them to learn words. For him to have repeated it after hearing it once, I think it imprinted on him because poor Bud was traumatized by the senseless incident. I hope Bud, family and friends of Marty find peace.

If I remember correctly, the grey parrot is known for its remarkable ability to mimic human speech. Far better than other parrots. If Marty had had any other type of bird, the case might have not been solved

She led a life of spending and now she's spending her life in jail
Wouldn't it have been simpler for Glenna to simply tell her husband about her financial problems I'm sure he would have understood and tried to help her she really didn't have to murder him and all she has done is make her problems a million times worse and likely destroyed her life in the process so she did it all for nothing really
What could he have done to help? Their HOME was about to be repossessed, and he was so disabled he couldn't even take care of himself.
She’s a coward. That’s her problem. She could have easily walked away instead of murdering him.

Gambling is a serious addiction. People get this idea that they can get all their lost money back if they just throw more at it

It especially affects people who've been dealt a terrible blow like a disabling accident. The resulting PTSD includes a distorted sense of fate, like if you had something so UNLUCKY happen to you, then surely the universe (or God, or whatever) owes you a big stroke of GOOD luck, so you're far more likely than most people to have something like a big lottery or casino win. Also you can win up to a certain amount of money in gambling with no effect on welfare benefits (like what Glenna was receiving for being her husband's full-time caretaker) whereas if she had done some part-time work from home, all that money would have been deducted from their monthly benefit. It's a f'd up system, seems almost geared toward getting poor people to buy lottery tickets. --Not just almost, lol.
I have been in love with Animals since l was a baby over 60 years ago. Even as a child l thought Animals were smarter than they were ever given credit and certainly more than most people l knew/know! Thank ❤️ you beautiful Bud for proving my point! ❤️🦜❤️

Gambling addiction is so incredibly destructive. Sure getting over drugs like heroin is no easy feat and takes a lifetime of dedication, but once you get cleaned up and healthy, you gain a lot of opportunities back right off the bat. If a gambling addict stops gambling and seeks help, they still have mountains of debt they will be dealing with for a very long time. Just seek help, tell SOMEBODY. hiding it never ends well

I find it amazing that Christina was on good enough terms with Marty that once she heard about his murder and his now homeless parrot that she decided to take Bud in, I can only imagine that Bud probably had done a couple of impressions of Marty before re-enacted the murder and once she heard him doing his ‘Marty voice’ did she realize what really happened to her ex-husband. I just hope poor lil Bud is doing alright after seeing such a horrific event

The parrot's 'testimony' did become public; other accounts state that it did influence or assist the case in going forward. It is quite chilling.
It's common for people attempting suicide by shooting themselves in the head to flinch at the last moment. Probably what happened. Severe concussion doesn't necessarily cause amnesia, though. Not the first time I heard about gambling addicts trying to solve their problems with murder. Vile.
They call lottery scratch-offs "paper crack" for a reason. They are such a waste of time and money. Yeah a person may get a hit but its almost 100% guarantee youll be in the negative if playing scratch-offs for a life time.

I can't remember what big true crime tv series covered this case (cause many have given the testimony of the African Grey parrot) but they mentioned that Marty wouldn't turn on the heat in winter despite them living in a cold weather region. Like to the point they told people they had to wear layers of clothes to stay warm if they planned on visiting. Though oddly he would spend money on top of the line hunting gear that in theory he couldn't use what with his disability status.

It’s probably ScrewTube and their BS policies where anyone can file a copyright claim against her, and there’s no way to defend against it. Or she could say one of the many words that describe crimes that are no longer allowed.
So... The cops didn't look into it before the parrot talked? That's pretty poor police work and we had parrots as kids and taught them phrases but they never picked them up with just one hearing, it took weeks most of the time. I call foul in the parrot as the witness that talked.
