    Ted Brooks lived from 1915-1997. This was from a “soundie”…the earliest music videos which were made for Nickelodeon type jukebox machines. You would drop a coin and this video would play in the jukebox machine. Ted, and the other men here were all likely aware of MTV and for Ted, even the internet. So they would have been aware of their pioneer status in music videos. Pretty awesome!

    • @minnesotaskinny5518
      @minnesotaskinny5518 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@TysheenOrane prior to the second World War, "doo" wop" style male quartet groups were very popular, there were three different groups who went by the name the "jubilaires" during the 1910s through the early 1960s, but none of those three groups went by the jubalaires name at the same time, this particular jubalaires group was around from 1935 until 1956(ish), they had nine different members who would come and go as they would always perform in groups of 4, one of the members names was George McFadden, he leads another song by this group called "the preacher and the bear", he joined this group in 1940 and left in 1942, a neighbor that I had in Fort Myers Florida was a granddaughter of his and her and my sister were really close friends, that's how I know about this particular group, back in those days, only the filthy rich had a television, so a good amount of time would pass before a song written and performed in front of a camera would be seen by the public, so while Wikipedia has this video at 1945, it was performed nearly 10 years prior, so in essence, when more people started to get television sets in the late 1940s and early 1950s, and this video came on, they thought it was brand new but they were actually watching something almost 20 years old
