Lights/bell going and so do the people. I pass over this crossing frequently and a lot of cars keep going thru. Last week I was 5th car in line and a guy flew up the right parking lane...surprisingly he stopped, the train was about 100 feet from crossing. The top flashers help as there is a hill behind Brenton81 and you can see the lights before you see the crossing. Great vid!
BRENTON81: Glad to hear that gates were finally installed last year. With this wide of a street and all this traffic, I am surprised that they were never installed years ago and I wonder what the reason was to finally have them installed. Were there accidents, injuries and/or fatalities at this crossing???
This entire subdivision has had gates installed at every crossing (except for one, which is slated to be closed) over the past several years. It was done in a south to north direction, several crossings at a time each year, presumably as the state budget allowed. Others were done during road reconstruction projects. It was pretty much just to make them safer. There haven't been any car / train collisions at this crossing but people constantly disregarded the signals because there were no gates.
BRENTON81: Yah, in this video, I saw two cars and a motorcycle disregard the lights and bells. And it is a miracle that there have never been any collisions at this crossing with the wide street and amount of traffic on the street. I have seen narrower country roads in your videos with much less traffic and even those had signals and gates. And of all your videos, I cannot think of another crossing that needed gates more than this crossing and I am so glad that they were finally installed.
I can't afford one I'm broke i will just lay my phone against a random sign any way is there any luck for forest hill ave and puetz rd because those are the two crossings that remain untapped so Is there any help or suggestions for this request
Brandon Kenyon Check out the thrift stores like Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. You can usually find tripods there for cheap (like less than ten bucks). I haven't been out to Puetz Road or Forest Hill in quite a while. The best thing you can do is go out there ahead of time and walk around and look to see what angles you like best. That way you'll know where to be when it comes time to film.
@ilovelucyfan500 I was just going to say the same thing. Looks like a busy enough crossing to require gates. Unfortunately it will take an accident to get them there.
There's nothing unsafe about this crossing. It has two cantilever signals with a set of bells... plenty of warning for motorists. People just need to practice some personal responibilty and stop when the signals are active, instead of running them to save a few minutes.

Fo4 this crossing, 2 40' WC Hayes gate mechanisms. Badda boom
grate video bro! :-)
Holy shit they need boom gates there. That's an accident waiting to happen.
Where should I tape this crossing in the best position so my video can get more popular
Brandon Kenyon The best thing you can do is get a tripod so your videos aren't so jittery.

But can you catch those signals for me because my dad forbids me to tape those crossings
Brandon Kenyon I really don't have plans to be up there filming anytime soon. In fact, I haven't done ANY videos at all this year.

very long train buddy
hate crossings w/o gates,is very unsafe
I like those signals and the flash rate, sad they gated the crossing though :(
Is that a freeway or highway up ahead?
It's just a two lane road with parking lanes on each side.
If you don't stop for flashing red lights it's like running a red light in auto traffic, PERIOD
One second can save your life lol
haha well true.....
NEED GATES!!

They installed gates there I saw on other vids
i hate people that do that its annoying
